... o fail unexpectedly. There was no overheating condition. Outdoor temperatures were normal (around 75°F), and the vehicle had been running properly up to that point. We have always used good quality fuel and kept up with regular maintenance. The first signs of failure included a check engine light with a cylinder misfire code, followed by noticeable white smoke from the exhaust. At the same time, coolant began rapidly disappearing despite being refilled. There are no external leaks, indicating the coolant is entering the engine internally. The vehicle now will not operate properly and cannot be driven. This failure occurred without warning and without any owner-related cause. Given the widespread reports of identical issues affecting Ford vehicles with this engine, this is clearly not an isolated incident but a systemic design problem. The pattern of coolant intrusion, white smoke, misfires, and sudden engine failure is well-documented among Ford customers. This issue requires immediate attention. Upon investigating the failure online, both the contact and the vehicle insurance company learned that the manufacturer was aware of the common failure but had not issued a recall. This stalling occurred 15 minutes after a service oil change and tire rotation at Sunnyvale Chrysler / RAM. Had to tow vehicle back to Sunnyvale. Batteries changed. Tech stalled on test drive after about 5 miles. RAM app still oddly indicates low battery, even though Sunnyvale replaced both batteries. Additionally, the trailer tow module (under recall) information / status on the infotainment screen menu started flashing. The trailer tow module recall was not installed as scheduled, even though parts were checked and available, however due to parts shortage, dealer indicated sales vehicle get priorities for the modules at this time. The screen started changing status without touching the screen or menu buttons. I was not able to shift the vehicle into neutral. The tow truck asked me to assist while we Dragged the entire truck into the flat bed trailer. Dealer called late after noon the next day. Saying the motor was seized and had to be replaced entirely. The service technician said this has been happening to the 2021-2024 6.2L engines as well and they’ve seen plenty of them. They recalled those a used a band aid fix of replacing the oil with heavier weight and a new drain plug. He said it’s not working and all those trucks are having the same issues. He said, this was not his first 2026 motor seized in a 6.2L. He’s had another one recently low mileage that seized also. I asked for a different motor. I was told not to worry we will give you a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. The truck was $100,000! And now they only want to warranty it for the same 3 years, just higher mileage… The motor is on back order and no telling when I’ll get my truck back. This is my 3rd Silverado and my 2017 is still going strong with 100,000 miles on it. They have a serious consumer issue on their hands and should be buying these trucks back as we will not be able to rely on the new motors. Gas Motor is not engaging to assist electric drivetrain on a hybrid AWD 2025 Santa Fe. This resulted in a dangerous situation crossing a busy road from a stop sign. The Santa Fe rolled into the intersection at the drivers request, but did not accelerate normally (only to a maximum of a few miles per hour) and felt like an eternity to cross the road. ... were paying attention and slowed down and in one case honked aggressively to point out we driving badly. Pulling over to the side of the road, turning the vehicle off and then back on again has sometimes made it run normally, but we limited our trips at that point to first getting safely home and then delivering it to the dealer. The 20 mile drive to the dealer required pulling over twice to reset the vehicle so the electric motor would assist. We have had repeated warnings from the onboard system including "Follow up checks required - Engine Management System" and "There may be a problem with the engine management system Contact your Dealer". I will note that we have 11,000 miles and 11 months experience with the vehicle with NO problems. It may not be relevant, but these new faults began 2 days routine service for oil and tire rotation when recall was performed including ECU Software Update for Recall 25-01-028-1. Dealer is uncertain of problem and referring with outside tech assistance from Hyundai but we were told to expect 2 weeks for parts and repair and uncertainty as to whether that would fix it. In the meantime a vehicle with unreliable acceleration and top speed is unsafe and parked. I do note on this NHTSA website 2025 HYUNDAI SANTA FE HYBRID SUV AWD that there are 47 Complaints. 9 relating to this problem all beginning October 2025 and none prior back to the first post of Nov 2024 for this model. When I took the car to Lexus to get the sunroof replaced the service representative stated it was the third replacement recently. When I picked the car up a couple days later I spoke with the Service Manager about my extended warranty coverage and the lack of evidence of an impact from road debris. I purchased a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler from a dealership in New York. At the time of sale, the vehicle had an open urgent safety recall (19V-018) for a defective Takata passenger airbag inflator. This recall was never disclosed to me by the dealership prior to or at the time of purchase. ... , but was not communicated to me in any way. I discovered the open recall after experiencing repeated mechanical failures following purchase. Four days after purchase the vehicle overheated and had to be towed — the coolant system was found to be completely empty. An independent licensed mechanic subsequently inspected the vehicle and stated on record that the mechanical defects appeared to be pre-existing conditions that existed prior to the sale. The vehicle currently has an unrepaired Takata airbag inflator which the manufacturer has identified as capable of exploding and sending metal fragments into the vehicle interior at high speed, risking serious injury or death to occupants. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The recall remains unrepaired. The dealership was contacted and a manager verbally acknowledged they did not disclose the known defect prior to sale.Read more
