Spare tire wheel well fills with water during heavy rain. Today I sucked out at least 2-3 gallons. Water goes 1/2 to 3/4 up the spare tire. Due to moisture Jack has rusted, headliner coming down and tire is slimy. 2020 Honda said problem was fixed but every time we have a hard rain it fills with water. Research has shown many people have same issue and have been unable to find source of leaks.

... an issue. Although there is a recall from some 2016 Honda Pilots for rod bearings, but my VIN number is not within the recall numbers. I called Honda and they said that the recall only applied to cars on the assembly line at a certain time. They recommended getting a diagnoses from a certified Honda service center, and maybe I could get what they call a "good faith" repair. The Honda service center would only say they hear "lower engine noise," and that to say it was rod bearings they would have to charge me $600 to drop the oil pan. I didn't because I can't afford it. However, at the bottom of the invoice, they gave a quote for replacing the rod bearings. I was able to find out about the rod bearings before something dangerous happened, but I am also unable to afford a new engine in my Pilot right now. So, I am barely driving it (only when I have no other choice-we have 3 children and are primarily using one car right now). The Honda dealership told me that because I bought my Pilot used and don't have the service records, that I wouldn't qualify for the the "good faith" repair anyway. I just saw a news article that you were opening an investigation into 2016 pilots for problems with rod bearings, so I wanted to file this report, even though I have been lucky enough not to have an accident because of it. My 2018 Ram 35000 with only 33,000 miles has recently been providing numerous ABS and Electronic Braking System warning lights. They are intermittently and can sound several times continually or they can go for several miles with no alarms. It appears that this is a well known issue with Ram trucks that I believe the manufacture should repair as it is a safety concern.

No other vehicle will have engine failure and transmission failure at 135K miles. I have other vehicle that drive beyond 250K miles ( (Nissan Maxima and Acura RDX at 200k miles), that had routine maintenance and repair, but never engine or transmission problem. I perform regular maintenance on all my cars since age 16. It’s a shame that a high end vehicle customer has to face these major repair. I believe the 2017 infinti Qx60 with CVT is a faulty design. It is a design related issue, which Infiniti should recall and correct. ... hey put 1 last engine in it. The 1st thing I did was drove down From Michigan to North Carolina to visit my daughter. Plenty of Mountains and a lot of driving as I drove 14 hours straight by myself. The engine that they had just put in started Chugging and choking and it stalled on the highway going through the mountains and I was hit in the rear end and the other driver never stopped. I managed to get it running again. Prior to leaving for North Carolina I ordered what they call a tuner where I could deactivate the AFM system and stay in 8 Cyl mode at all times. I had it sent to her house. I installed the program. Keeping in mind #1 I was rear ended. And every single time there was an issue it was Cyl#7 on all the previous engines. I talked to the Lead man at Royal chevrolet about all the issues and he said they know all about it and its a joke. They tried it on Cadillacs back in 1975 and recalled every one of them and turned it off. On my way back home not 1 single issue in fact and I sill have it displayed on my dashboard I actually got 26.2 Miles per gallon in V-8 mode in the mountains. I have driven to NC every year since before I even owned that truck and have never seen milage before or since. The AFM system is nothing but a ploy to get people to buy junk. Could someone been killed? Most certainly. I told the manager 1 more engine and I have a Friend cut stickers of lemons out and put at the main 4 corners in our town. This is extremely hazardous cause on highway the car can stall anytime which has happened in the past. Turns out Colin from Honda Oakland provided misinformation, which could have gotten me into a car accident waiting for another letter that would never come and waiting for months and months to get my fuel pump replaced. Thankfully, confirmed with San Leandro Oakland that parts are available and ok to take car in immediately. Honda Oakland needs to provide correct info to customers, and not tell them to "wait for another letter." They should have just said to check with another dealership if they didn't have the part available. Although, it's strange they don't have the part available, when the Recall Letter I received says "parts are now available." Online reports reveal that there are scores of other owners of model year 2014-2019 Ford Escapes with the same or similar issues with their back-up cameras (one mentioned having theirs replaced at least _4 times_ while the car was still in its warranty period). No other warning lamps are available. The alert text that (only sometimes) appears on the display screen when the camera fails is non-specific (e.g. “Camera not available.”). This has been occurring for at least the last 3 or 4 years. For all intents and purposes, since this fault is so unpredictable, I can no longer consider this car to possess a back-up camera. Safety: while I have never had a serious, another driver could easily fail to see and possibly collide with property or individuals while reversing (especially when the camera image disappears in the middle of an in-progress reversing operation). I am more than happy to make my vehicle available for inspection upon request. Ford has issued a recall for the seemingly identical issue for 2020 model year vehicles, but not for my 2016 Ford Escape (nor, to my knowledge, many other model years using an identical camera and display design).Read more

Engine has been “hiccuping” for a few months and making a knocking sound. Brought it to Honda on 3 separate occasions and they “could not replicate” the sound. And said it’s normal. I’ve had 2 non Honda mechanics look at it and they agree it sounds like a rod knock and engine failure is going to happen sooner rather than later.

Also the transmission lead frame which they did end up actually saying when it went that there was a recall for this, BUT if a certain code supposedly didn’t show up on the code reader it was not covered under the warranty. Which of course mine did not have the correct code so I had to pay out of pocket. But coincidentally when I picked it up they said they gave me a discount which everyone knows when a dealer states something they are charging there is no change in the price, but that went from $1150 to $850 I believe. Also the timing chain is known to jump and cause engine failure. Next this stuff may not have to do with safety so I’m sure you will also deny responsibility for is the rear main seal is known to leak. The turbo leaks behind the passenger side front tire. And the driverside back split power heated window is known to shatter. Can anyone tell me how all these can be on the internet as problems and “recommended fixes” then now the new ones get recalls for the same issues and mine is not covered and the new ones are. Yes you can look them all up and see them for yourself. When I found the back window one I was looking to find out how to replace it myself when the first video that showed up was a guy saying he did the same thing looking for how to fix it, and seen videos of people saying that it is a recommended fix for ford. I was able to restart the car to move it to a safe location for towing, but the engine struggled to start and the car continued to shake violently and more gas smell came from the car. It was turned off as soon as possible and it is now at the dealership for diagnostics and repair. There was a recent recall on my vehicle for a faulty high-pressure fuel pump. My car did not have a check engine light on and did not display the appropriate code to have the fuel pump replaced, so I only received a software update. Because the issue with the recent recall was sudden loss of power that could potentially cause a wreck, I feel that this issue is likely related to the same fuel pump problem but was missed under the previous guidance for repair. In this case, I was lucky it happened while sitting still instead of while I was on a major interstate, or I could have been seriously injured.Read more

While driving on rural side road, two lanes, my check engine light (yellow, steady) came on. I pulled into a safe spot and did a quick survey, checked the owner manual, but could not identify any problem, and continued on my way. The check engine light was still on. I turned the ignition off, checked oil level, (normal), turned the engine back on and started driving to find a safe place to pull over and summon help, but the car drove normally. I drove directly to my repair shop and had the codes pulled, (0436, 0021) which indicate a problem with timing. When a qualified tech examined it he recommended taking to the dealer. Unwilling to drive in traffic, I had it towed to the dealership. Their inspection revealed damage to CVVT components and the timing chain, and recommend an (expensive) engine rebuild.Read more
