However, the oil pressure light seems to flash on and off when it wants too. After doing an oil change every 3,500k miles, it started to turn on recently. I’ve checked the oil and everything seems to be fine. I’ve seen multiple forums with others having the same defect and since the car is made in Korea, Korea has a recall for the same exact issue. Some people are being turned away from shops b

My car dealership in Route 23 (700 NJ-23, Pompton Plains, NJ) did not give me any notifications regarding my car recall. I found out myself from the News, so I called Route 23 to schedule a service appointment on 11/13/24. They also said that there is no waiting list or expected date for when the parts will become available. Nor did they offer any alternative to the problem. When I addressed my safety concerns, they told me “it’s a waiting game”, and refused to inspect my vehicle, saying “there is nothing we can do”.Read more

In August 2024, the engine of the vehicle suddenly started making a very loud knocking noise, with no previous warning lights. We did not feel it was safe to drive. We saw online that a recall was underway by Hyundai for 2017 Tucsons due to problems with the rod bearings, where metal spreads throughout the engine. There is the potential for the engine to catch fire, and a complete engine replaceme
... nt is recommended. This was confirmed by the dealership where we bought the vehicle, Boucher Hyundai of Waukesha, which told us they are replacing the engines in many of these vehicles. However, our VIN was not included in the recall, although the problem is identical to what is described in the recall. We had the car towed to the dealership; after confirming the problem, the dealership filed a claim with Hyundai seeking to add our VIN to the recall. We included all of the maintenance records since we bought the vehicle in January 2021 with 64K miles. Hyundai rejected the claim, citing a gap in the maintenance records from 64,000-124,000 miles. The dealership questioned that, since they had submitted our maintenance records and there were no gaps. Hyundai again denied the claim, citing a gap in the maintenance records from 17,000-29,000 miles - before we owned the vehicle. We called Hyundai customer service seeking an explanation; they said that the decision is made by Hyundai Motor America, a different entity, which only the dealership can contact, not vehicle owners. The customer service rep's only suggestion was to file a claim with your agency. The vehicle is parked and undriveable; it is available for inspection.Read more

2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Owner's Manual: It would seem that the owner's manual in this report I'm personally submitting isn't providing proper instructions to the public for changing motor oil. Motor oil is SCALDING HOT when not left to cool for long enough yet ALSO when improper gloves are used for changing the motor oil itself. Please see attachments: On page 545 where the specific title "Chang
... ing the Engine Oil and Oil Filter" begins, prior to entry number four, there are no instructions for any amount of time required for waiting for cooling the engine nor are there instructions about the heavy-duty gloves that should be used in the process of changing the oil. Entry number four states in plain language, "Remove the drain bolt and washer from the bottom of the engine, and drain the oil into a suitable container." --- This would be an EXTREMELY TERRIBLE standard to set for the public. Furthermore, there are no safety messages on either of those two pages that are specific to the "Danger", "Warning", or "Caution" safety messages that are seen towards the beginning of the owner's manual referenced above. I hope this does not resemble anything close to a wide-spread standard. In fact, it shouldn't be the standard anywhere. Please assist the public in providing proper screening for automobile owner's manuals such as these. Thank you. (Referenced incident date invalid due to data field parameters)Read more

The backup camera has failed numerous times. The camera will work and then suddenly stop creating a safety risk of hitting a pedestrian walking behind the vehicle when relying on the camera. The dealer has attempted to fix the problem by installing a new camera, new wiring harness, and a new module. The new module installed, under warranty, in February 2024 now requires a software update that only
... the dealer can perform at a cost of $1200. The vehicle warranty expired in July and Ford is not covering the cost of the update despite the module being new and requiring the update to work properly. It seems that if a part on a vehicle requires a software update to function properly that the part was defective and should be recalled. The dealer has inspected and advises to update the software on the module to regain proper function of the backup camera.Read more
