A few months ago, started smelling faint fuel, the smell gradually increased. Took it to Land Rover dealership was told there was a problem with fuel tank fiange and gasket that sits on top of the gas tank. Was advised there was a recall for the same problem on other models but not mine. Due to the nature of potential hazard (fire, explosion), I wanted to make sure this was documented.

Incident date: Nov 26, 2024
On [XXX] my car exhibited a problem where the brake pedal was mushy and had to be pushed half way down to stop the vehicle. It felt very unsafe as it happened suddenly and stayed like that. Since I felt unsafe, I took it to my nearest mechanic local shop. He told me that it can be a Master Cylinder issue first and then the HCL. I looked online and found an old recall on Ford fusions 2006-2010 mo
... del with recall number 19S54 (DOT Brake Fluid and Anti-Lock Brake System Function). I checked my VIN and there was no recall for my vehicle. It was strange since my vehicle build day was very close to the date mentioned on the recall. On 12/4/2024 at 7:45 AM PST (10:45 EST), I called Ford Dealer (Colley Ford Service) and described the issue and told them about the recall. They did some research and told me my vehicle is NOT covered. On 12/4/2024 at 8:00 and 8:30 AM PST (11:30 EST), I called the customer relations at Ford. They provided the same response and told me that no recall is on my vehicle based on my VIN. That was a bit frustrating given that my vehicle was showing very similar issue and as safety concern. I also discussed this recall with my mechanic. I told my mechanic to go ahead with the repairs he believes is appropriate for my car to ensure my safety. My mechanic inspected it and told me that its either a Master Cylinder problem or the Hydraulic Brake Control Unit (HCU) or both. He first changed the Master Cylinder and flushed Brakes with DOT 4 Ford recommended. That did not fix the issue. Next, he changed the HCU and that fixed the problem. To me, this indicates that with high probability, my vehicle exhibited same problem as what it was shown within the recall notice. I need this to be investigated and I need Ford to be accountable for this issue and pay for my repair expenses as my car has a very close build date and is from the same plant and is a Fusion. I have uploaded a picture of the bill I paid the recall sample. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACRead more

On 10-11-24 the panoramic sunroof on our car exploded. We were driving at the time at approx 45mph, clear and 60° out, and we heard a loud bang and in looking around for the cause saw the sunroof looked like crackle glass. We closed the sunshade in case it fell on us, and within a minute it did just that. Had we not closed that shade we would have been showered with glass. We did not see any
... obstacles coming at us and there were no cars around close enough to throw up a rock. After calling our insurance company to start a claim I did some research online while waiting for the adjuster to call. I discovered the class action suit regarding the exploding sunroofs and realized that is what had just happened to us. I then spoke to Hyundai customer service and started an incident report. We were finally able to take the car to a dealer on 10-31-24 and requested the repair be covered under the limited warranty. They eventually agreed to repair it under warranty and we picked the car up on 11-29-24. We were without the use of it for 7 weeks. We knew we would never trust that it wouldn't happen again and that we would need to trade it in. We did just that 3 days later at a different dealership. Of course we lost money on the car. There were no prior warnings with any lights, noises, or anything. No other vehicles or people were involved and no police report or anything was made. Had we been going faster or on a multiple lane road, or had the glass fallen as soon as it exploded, I believe the shock and reaction would have ended in an accident and severe injury to us or others. Pictures are available but they were taken after we cleaned up the mess.Read more
