It is a multistep process to get to the battery and requires removing the back seat. When HQ advised the battery check, the service department found the battery was swollen and needs to be replaced. I have found information on chat boards and YouTube where other car owners having the same issue. Why hasn't Hyundai HQ issued a recall and replaced all the batteries? The dealership has told me there are batteries in inventory in a warehouse in Los Angeles California, yet HQ has them on hold on back order status. What and why would the battery not be available for the cars having the issue? I believe a swollen 12v Lithium battery is a safety hazard and should be recalled. When the failure happens I have not tried to drive the car on roadways since it is very difficult to steer the truck. However, I am concerned that the steering failure could happen when driving, especially if the outiside temperature gets cold. I have consulted with an authorized RAM dealer and was told the electronic power steering module would need replacement, with estimated cost $3700. I decided against having the steering replaced, since the truck is usable once the engine warms. The dealer did not inspect the truck, since it only has failed on cold mornings in my driveway, so the failure and warning messages are gone once I drive it to the dealer. When the failure occurs there is a red message on the dashboard to "Service Power Steering". Within the first 30 miles of new vehicle purchase the instrument panel gave an error message with a picture of a tire and then the engine suddenly quit at about 50 mph in heavy traffic. My safety was put at risk as I was in the middle lane on a motorcycle that the engine quit with traffic behind me. A few days later the dealer re-delivered the motorcycle to my residence with no paperwork and no notification that they did not fix it. For months after the purchase I tried to have Triumph and the Dealer fix the engine quitting problem or return the motorcycle with no success. The dealer again attempted to fix it on 8/27/2024 but again failed to fix it. After the bike was re-delivered on 8/27/2024, and the bike was moved the instrument panel displayed another error, “service due”, and within 13 miles the instrument panel again displayed a tire picture error, exactly like it did on 12-9-2023 before the engine suddenly quit. I stopped and checked the tire pressures and verified they were correct. Having an engine quit suddenly on a motorcycle in traffic is extremely dangerous. The problem is a circuit board or software, as shutting everything off and then re-starting, the engine starts normally and the error message is no longer displayed until later.Read more

The heat from the rear defroster caused my read window to shatter leaving glass mostly on the exterior of the truck bed but also in the back seat. Vehicle goes into Turtle mode with the error that says Performance Extremely Limited. It happens without any warning and has already happened 3 times right now. Last night (December 8th, 2024) it happened as my wife was merging into the freeway. All of a sudden, the power got cut out almost completely. The Check engine light turned on, the Turtle symbol came ON and the message Performance Extreme
... ly Limited came on. She was lucky there was no traffic, but this could happen where there is traffic at speed coming and they can easily rear end our vehicle. This condition can't be safe. While searching online, i see hundreds of people have the same issue happen to them as well, with Mercedes Benz having no answers to the issue at hand. This can't be safe.Read more

Steering wheel makes clacking noise when turning left or right, especially if making sharp right angle turn or when parking. I think I noticed it first in early November 2024 while parking. ... t Thursday, Dec 5th, 2024, for a tire repair & asked for estimate on steering issue. They told me it was a really big project to replace some sort of ball like piece & required taking the whole steering assembly apart. He said when it goes I'll loose steering & likely have an accident as a result. He said that as my car has less than 29,000 original miles on it (28,630), I should go to the Hyundai dealer as they should pay to repair it as it's a huge safety issue & shouldn't happen to such a low mileage car. I tried to go there but they'd moved & I didn't have a phone to query new location. At home I called and got VM for a man in service dept. Left msg. No one responded so I called again Fri, Dec 6, 2024 & was put throughto a differentman in the service dept's VM & left another detailed msg, this time incluing VIN#. Now is Monday 12/9/24 & still no reply. I looked online & saw there was a recall for this vehicle from 2008-2010, but nothing came up when I entered my VIN on this NHSTA site. I believe my vehicle should be included and I don't think I should have to wait until an accident has occurred, or have to spend thousands out if pocket to repair an Issue that appears to be more widespread that initially considered. Can you help please? I prefer bring proactive and not incurring any damage to life, limb & property for my self, any potential passengers, or anyone else who might be harmed should I experience power steering loss.
