My car had an accident and it was hit by another car on the left side, but the camera which was assumed to record the accident, it did not. Fortunately no one get injury. But I have to pay with my insurance. BWM did not admit such fatal error. I talked to them but they said I can sue them.... 1. I went to BMW Darien, the specilist said the camera only worked when being hit by the front, but it is
... not true, there are 4 cameras which record 360 degree around. 2. I assumed whenever an accident happened, the camera system will be activated, but the BMW people said because the accident was not severe, then the sensors did not work. But when checking my car, the whole left side was damaged, it is not a minor hit. Thus I question how severe would it be sufficient to trigger the system. 3. I have not been to the dealer. 4. The insurance just checked the damage and send me an estimated amount to repair the car. 5. there is no message, or because I was not the driver, I did not know.Read more

Hood vibrates wildly with high winds/driving over 65mph/ or tractor trailer passing by on a 2 lane rd. Many times I pull over on the side of the highway inspecting the hood to see if its open but no the latch is closed. Upon research on Ram truck forums this appears to be a massive problem. the 1500 series has a recall TSB 23-029-18 issued but not the 2500, 3500 series. The aluminum hood is flims
... y and after some time vibrating it looks like the latch could eventually give way and the hood could open while driving. I would not have bought a newer Ram 2500 had I known of this issue. Just stopping on the side of the highway to inspect the hood is dangerous enough. my intention was to buy a solid truck not a paper tiger of a truck. During a routine trip, in a suburban area, on a cold winter morning my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo was running rough and losing power as soon as I started it. The engine light came on and we immediately stopped driving and had it towed for repairs. The Dealer diagnosed the problem by observing that the front of the engine rose up when the gas pedal was pressed, and the engine was loose. We ar
... e concerned this failure could have resulted in engine falling out of the car, which could have caused a catastrophic accident, fire from the loss of fuel, and loss of life or serious injuries. The engine mounts failed at about 76,101 miles. This did not result in an accident or damage This problem was diagnosed and repaired by the Stafford, Chrysler Jeep Rambler Dealer (the Dealer) at 121A West Stafford Rd, Stafford Springs CT who can be reached at 860-684-8877. The Dealer stated that it was unusual for the engine mounts to fail at such a low mileage unless there was an accident or heavy usage (we do not know of any such issues). We bought the car the certified used from Bolles Motors (the previous owner of the Dealer) with 46,370 miles. The Carfax showed regular maintenance and did show any accidents. We drove only the car 29,731 miles before the engine mounts failed. A copy of the receipt and photos of the engine mounts are attached.Read more

This issue closely resembles Audi recall campaign 97CB (NHTSA campaign ID 16V642000), with details available at [XXX] . In my case, the marker light itself is functioning properly, but the vehicle is displaying a false error message: "Front Right Side Marker Light Defective." This poses safety risks because the erroneous warning distracts drivers from the road and could lead to the system failing
... to alert the driver of an actual side marker light issue in the future. Many owners of the same model and year are disabling their side marker lights entirely to avoid the error, as evidenced in discussions such as those on [XXX] . Repairing this issue typically requires replacing the entire headlight assembly, with costs ranging from $2,400 to $5,300, making it prohibitively expensive for many. Although Audi initiated a recall (97CB) for a similar issue, it was limited to a specific subset of vehicles, and the widespread nature of this problem in other vehicles outside the recall’s VIN range suggests a broader defect. Given these safety risks, high repair costs, and the frequency of the issue, I urge the NHTSA to investigate whether this problem warrants a broader recall or corrective actions by the manufacturer. My wife was driving down the highway (XXX) after dropping our daughter off at school. The closest car was approximately 10 cars ahead of her and there were no vehicles behind her. The outside temperature was about 48 degrees, the A/C was set to about 70 degrees. She was driving about 70mph. My wife described the sound to be what she thought was a shotgun blast above her head followed by wind noise
... like if the sunroof had opened. She looked in the rear-view mirror and observed glass flying behind the car, and what sounded like glass continuously falling on to the cloth for the retractable headliner. When she arrived home I took pictures of the sun roof and noticed that the glass appeared to be pushed upwards (away from the car) as if the glass had been over-pressurized and "popped". By the looks of the glass it appeared as though something massive had been thrown from the inside of the car through the sun roof (although not possible as my wife is small and the retractable headliner was closed). My two youngest kids were in the car with my wife and if the headliner would have been retracted they 100%, without a doubt in my mind, would have been injured by the blow back of the glass "exploding". For context I am an Aviation Electricians mate in the Navy and it looked the exact same as when we have had windows on our Aircraft fail and they have blown outwards.
