... replaced. The mechanic noticed a leak inside the vehicle that was flowing onto the onboard computer of the vehicle. The mechanic determined that the windshield wiper box line was the cause of the leak. The water was leaking from panel number one. The leak started at the front windshield to the driver's side window down to the air bag and the hose connected to the windshield wiper box into the firewall pillar and to the rear windshield. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.Read more

I think this is related to NHTSA Recall 24V954. I experience loss of driving power at various times. This started about three months ago. It is intermittent. It used to be once or twice a week. Lately it is happening almost every day. Sometimes it is a minor annoyance, but sometimes it can result in a serious safety issue. When in electric mode, the car will suddenly lose driving power. Other powe
... r, such as radio, lights, etc., are not affected. This is most common when the car is stopped, e.g. at a red light, or driving at low speeds, when the car is often in EV mode. For example, if I’m at a red light, when the light turns green I press the accelerator but they car doesn’t respond, no power. Or, if I’m driving at low speed in EV mode the car will suddenly lose power and glide to a stop. The only way to resolve this is to come to a full stop, turn off the car and then turn it on again. The reason I am writing is to reinforce that it can be a serious safety issue. I can give three examples. 1) January 15 I was driving in the right lane on an interstate highway, moving slowly due to congestion. I lost power and glided to a complete stop, in traffic. There was no shoulder. Cars were merging in and out of my lane to avoid me. I had to completely turn off the car and turn it on again. 2) January 22, while stopped at a red light, I pulled into the intersection when the light turned green, only to have the car die in the intersection. 3) January 22, same as example 2, but at a stop sign. The letter from Ford says there is no remedy yet, at least not until Q2 of 2025, but they have not issued instructions to stop driving the vehicle. I believe that this safety issue is serious enough that a stop should be issued. I personally will not drive this vehicle until the repair can be made.Read more

After coming to a stop, the car would not restart, leaving me stranded in a highly precarious situation. As the weather conditions worsened, turning into a

The officers arrived and parked behind my vehicle with their flashers on to ensure approaching drivers would slow down and avoid an accident. This was an extremely distressing and frightening experience. After an hour, GM Roadside Assistance called back and informed me they were unable to find an operator to tow the vehicle. By this time, the officers on-site had contacted a local tow company for my safety. The tow company advised me that I would need to pay in cash for their services, which I accepted due to the urgency of the situation. They towed the vehicle from [XXX] to their yard in Douglas, Wyoming. I then arranged for a ride to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where I had to report to work that night. This incident not only jeopardized my safety but also left me with significant unexpected expenses and inconvenience, all due to what I believe is a manufacturing defect in the vehicle. A new vehicle should not experience such catastrophic failure, and the delayed response from GM Roadside Assistance compounded the problem. I respectfully request the following actions 1. The vehicle has persistent issues with its software and safety systems, creating significant safety risks. The Remote Software Upgrade feature fails to install, despite indicating it is “ready to install” with preparations complete. This prevents critical updates that could address safety and performance defects. BMW Customer Support was unable to resolve the issue, and a local dealership conf
... irmed no hardware faults but could not address the software issue due to limitations as a non-BMW-certified service center. Several critical safety features also do not function properly. The Blind Spot Warning system has never issued alerts, leaving the driver unaware of vehicles in adjacent lanes. The Forward Collision Warning system has never activated, even in close proximity to other vehicles. The Lane Departure Warning fails to consistently activate, while Lane Keeping Assistance operates only intermittently, despite being designed to engage above 40 mph. Additionally, the Parking Collision Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Warning systems have never provided alerts, even when obstacles or approaching vehicles are present. These malfunctions severely compromise the vehicle’s ability to prevent accidents and ensure safety. The vehicle also intermittently displays drivetrain failure warnings, stating the car can still be driven but should be serviced. Upon inspection, no issues were identified. Consistent fault codes for the active kidney grille shutters appear, but no check engine light is illuminated. These recurring warnings create uncertainty about the vehicle’s reliability and the accuracy of its diagnostics. The combination of these issues places the driver, passengers, and others at risk. A thorough investigation is needed to identify and resolve the root causes. All systems are available for inspection upon request.Read more

Collision while using Summon feature on a Tesla. I was parked, rear end in, in a parking stall at work. A minivan was parked, front end in, in the stall adjacent to me. The two cars were facing opposite directions with the drivers side of each car next to each other. As I approached my car, from a distance of about 100ft, I used the Tesla app to summon my car to me. I pressed and held down the "Co
... me to Me" button and my car lights went on and the car began moving forward then made a sudden, unexpected sharp left turn before pulling out of the stall. The turn was too sharp and a collision was imminent. I let the button go on the app, but it was too late and my drivers side back door panel scraped the rear drivers side bumper of the minivan next to me. I got into the car, manually backed up and surveyed the damage. I thought it was minor, but I reported it to the minivan owner. Due to an estimate of damage in the several thousand dollar range, I filed a claim with my insurance company. They repaired the damage to the minivan. I deferred any repair to my own car because I thought it was minimal. No injuries occurred as the result of this collision. I did not mention the use of the Summon feature when I reported this collision to my insurance company. I simply mentioned that I hit the car next to me pulling out of a parking stall and that the fault was mine.Read more

This problem is more noticeable when you are in a highway, going at highway speeds. The vehicle pulls to the sides on the lane, like it is trying to correct you as if you were moving out of the lane. Sometimes when it moves to the right, and you correct it, then it moves to the left. We purchased this vehicle on [XXX] with 26 miles on it. By the time the vehicle had 90 miles on it, we knew it
... had to go to the dealer because what we were feeling was not normal. We took the vehicle to the dealer, and drove it with a technician who noticed the problem immediately. The vehicle stayed at the dealer overnight, and the following day the dealer contacted us to pick up the vehicle. They told us that they had checked the vehicle, and sent information to Honda that they asked for. Honda said all the parameters in the car were correct, and there was nothing to fix. We drove the vehicle with the technician again, and he told us that he had driven another new car from their inventory, and felt the same problem, not as bad but he felt it. We drove the car with him a second time us driving, and again he noticed it and pointed out when it was doing it, because he could feel it as a passenger. The technician told Honda that even though the vehicle met all the parameters, there was something wrong because he could feel it. We called Honda Directly and started a case on this matter. ( Case # [XXX]) The following week a Technician from Honda came to town, and the Dealer called us to take the car in so he could check it himself. They would not tell us what he found out, but they said that he was going to check with a facility they have in California to see if they had any information on this matter. Even though they did not confirm anything he obviously noticed the problem, if he had not what would be the point of looking further. A week later they asked for the car again, the problem is getting worse the car is unsafe to drive, and we are waiting on Honda. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIONRead more

During cold weather there is always a gasoline smell when starting the engine that eventually goes away. On 01/20/2025 the smell was so intense that I decided to stop the engine and leave the car outside the garage just in case. Upon opening the hood, I noticed an amount of a type of liquid similar to gasoline right on the undercarriage protector covers. I could not reach with my hands but instead

While driving my truck with randomly loose power steering and this happens at all speeds. It will also make my dashboard go crazy move my dashboard measurement alol over the place like a haunted clock. My power steering will go out whether I’m parked going 10 miles an hour or if I’m going 75 miles an hour which is a gigantic safety issue. My steering wheel will randomly lock up and my car with then to move left and right as it locks up. In addition the check engine will either light up or not light up and then will disappear. I did take my truck back to the dealership to where I purchased it and was not able to solve the issue they attempted to fix it for a total of 36 days two times of which they “fixed” it but then I’d be driving on the highway and it would be doing it all over again. Now the manufacture is replacing the I- shaft, with the same issues which they said that was corrected with a software update, by charging customers thousands of dollars with sealed ones. All those cars having the issue whi

While driving, the car will fluctuate its battery percentage, similar to the report in NHTSA Recall 24V-700. While driving down the highway with 67%, it suddenly swung down to 10% displaying a "Battery charge is low Charge now" warning on the dash. My concern is that if I'd have had less charge after the swing in battery percentage, the car could have turned on it's "turtle mode" at highway speed
... on open freeway. My local dealer has confirmed that this is a similar concern to the one outlined in Nissan's recall r24b2 (NHTSA 24V-700), and should be resolved with that fix. I feel that this warrants updating the recall to include fluctuations occurring at speed as well. There are no warnings during the percentage swings while driving, only when it swung below the normal threshold for the "Battery charge is low. Charge now." warning did anything come up.Read more

I am writing to bring attention to a critical safety issue affecting the 2012 Toyota Prius and other Toyota models equipped with the brake booster and actuator system. These components are failing at alarming rates, leaving vehicles with no functional brakes, ABS, or traction control. Additionally, this failure compromises the hybrid system due to the regenerative braking no longer working, potent
... ially causing further damage to hybrid components and resulting in repairs costing several thousand dollars. Toyota issued Customer Support Program ZJB, which covered these issues for a limited period. This program was in effect from August 31, 2021, with no mileage or year restrictions, but offered secondary coverage for up to 10 years or 150,000 miles from the vehicle’s first use. Unfortunately, my vehicle, with approximately 130,000 miles and 12 years of age, was denied coverage when brought to a dealer after the program had ended. Despite the brake booster and actuator failing, the dealership did not advise me not to drive the vehicle, further emphasizing the gravity of this oversight. This is a significant safety hazard, as vehicles with these failures lack the ability to stop effectively, risking lives on the road. Furthermore, this problem is not isolated to my Prius; it affects thousands of Toyota vehicles equipped with these components. The estimated repair cost exceeds $3,000, an undue burden on owners for an issue that stems from defective manufacturing. I firmly believe Toyota’s decision to address this problem through a limited Customer Support Program, rather than a full recall, is inadequate and irresponsible. This issue meets the criteria for a safety recall and should be treated as such by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). I respectfully urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter further asap/mandate a recall for all affected vehicles. This is a big safety issue.
