The contact's wife received unknown injuries and was transported to the hospital for a CT scan and continued medical attention with her primary care doctor, a neurologist, and continued physical therapy. According to the mechanic, this was either the result of a major collision or a defect. Since the vehicle hasn't been in a collision, this is a concerning defect that Honda has so far refused to cover, including the damage to the soaked carpet. Both times, I had driven for 3-8 hours in pouring rain on the highway. Unacceptable for a 2- year old vehicle to have this issue.Read more

While I was driving on the highway I heard a rattling noise in the engine bay and every single light and system showed a malfunction on my dash. Then I was not able to accelerate and had to roll to a stop. ... 't even notice that I was not accelerating anymore for a few moments. The worst part was that the area in which I was driving had no shoulder and it was by a body of water. When I was relatively safe out of the way I called a tow truck to take me to a repair shop a block away from my residence in the event it was something minor. The first repair shop looked at it and stated it was an engine issue and I should take it to the dealer/repair shop we normally take it to. I then needed to get it towed again to the other shop and the problem was confirmed to be a catastrophic engine failure by the Honda dealer/repair shop which we always take our vehicle to for maintenance (literally got an oil change and filters replaced less than a month prior) and had to pay to get our engine replaced. The original engine is not available for inspection as we had to get it replaced. The vehicle was not inspected by the manufacturer because they stated there was no open recall on our vehicle even if there were other vehicles with the same year make and model with an open recall on an issue that could cause something like this.Read more

In 11/2024, I started experiencing intermittent noises coming from the engine compartment of my 2011 Toyota Prius. The initial sound resembled the buzzing noise generated when first starting the vehicle. Then the noise started to persist for extended periods after the vehicle was turned off. ... peating this cycle. The duration of these cycles could extend for up to 20 minutes. Concurrently, I experienced several instances where the brake pedal would abruptly become stiff & difficult to press. Notably, no warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard. Recognizing these symptoms as unusual, I conducted online research and discovered that the issue could potentially stem from a malfunction in the “brake booster pump and assembly.” Given the potential for a loss of braking power and the risk of personal/public safety, I scheduled a diagnostic inspection at Toyota of Poway, Poway, CA, on 12/18/2024. It confirmed the presence of a problem with the brake booster pump and associated components. In light of this diagnosis, I made the decision to refrain from driving the vehicle until the repairs were completed. The repair costs amounted to $3,475.47. I found I had received a notification from Toyota’s Customer Support Program, designated as “Customer Support Program Notification-ZJB.” This notification explicitly acknowledged this defect & provided a repair coverage policy that stipulated a coverage policy of which I’m no longer entitled to. Despite not meeting the eligibility criteria for the repair coverage program, I am deeply troubled by the fact that this recognized defect persists in vehicles currently on the road, such as mine, without any corresponding recall action and subsequent repair costs covered by Toyota. The manufacturer (Porsche North America) was contacted and responded that since 2 dealers could not find an issue a replacement was not warranted. I've had numerous other faults with the vehicle in 2 years of ownership, also having to replace the front windshield due to delamination of the windshield seals but I was not included in the recall that affected other owners with the same issue.Read more

Once the engine was replaced the mechanic confirmed the transmission would also need to be replaced. My son spent all his savings on the engine so we took the car home to determine options. The quote for a new transmission is 3-4k plus labor. I am too scared to let my son drive the car so it has been parked in my drive way since we got the car back in February of 24. My son has been saving to try and get it fixed. His coworker told him about a class action that was filed against Nissan for the same issue for Sentras from 2013-2017. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, dealer, or insurance, and I have not yet brought it in for service. ... y. This problem would happen when the car speed is between 60-70mph. It is very dangerous to lose power on the highway because many times there is no where to pull over. In 2024 I changed the water pump because the fault code on the cars built in diagnostic code read error “P216B” which is the cars electrical water pump signal. I researched it on google and a lot of 2010 Prius owners are complaining of the same thing. Also the changed water pump from April 2024 died again in January 2025. It is very scary that the cars accelerator pedal goes unresponsive and all the fault lights come on. My vehicle has 155,000 miles runs great and my family loves the 40mpg it gets. However, this stalling problem is being ignored by Toyota and could lead to a fatal car accident if not recalled by the manufacturer. To conclude, I would like for your office to possibly conduct an investigation with the 2010 toyota Prius hybrid for this ongoing problem that the company is ignoring. The engine has 13,441 miles on it and it has been consuming 4 quarts of oil in 1700 miles. The dealer sealed the engine and is performing an oil consumption test. Approximately 500 mile into the test the check engine light started flashing due to a misfire. The dealer found that the #1plug was fouled out and had to be replaced. At 1029 miles into the test the truck was idling in a parking lot

After stepping on the throttle to clear out the misfire, the dash lit flashing multiple warnings including the breaking system was stuck on hindering the truck from being able to move. After several restarts and playing with the parking brake I managed to get the parking brake off. It still had the flashing check engine light on and flashing. My passenger side door does not lock when pressed on the key fob with all of the other doors. The remote start does not work AT ALL. The trunk does not open when pressed on the key fob either. The lighter port does not have any power. I did buy this car used for being 5 years old and having 71,000 miles I thought that I was getting a somewhat decent deal but that is not the case, I do not feel safe in this car nor do I get to enjoy any of the features of “having a newer car”.Read more

Complaint Regarding Brake Safety Issue – 2024 Audi e-tron Q8 Launch Edition Under Warranty While driving my 2024 Audi e-tron Q8 Launch Edition, I encountered an accident ahead and had to brake hard. I brought the vehicle to Rusnak Audi Service Department, where Service Advisor Jorge Canul initially stated that the issue was "normal" and attributed it to the front motor. When I expressed concerns about safety and requested further investigation, I was later informed that the issue was related to the rotors. Despite the fact that my vehicle is under the Audi factory warranty and Audi-paid maintenance program, I was told that Audi does not cover rotor replacements, even though the rotors show minimal wear and the original brake pads still have 95% remaining life. Additionally, my own research online revealed that numerous other owners of the 2024 Audi e-tron Q8 Launch Edition have reported similar braking issues, raising further concerns about a potential widespread defect. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the braking issue poses a serious safety risk and should be addressed under warranty, as it affects the vehicle's ability to operate safely under emergency braking conditions.
