At approximately 25k miles, the steering became "sticky" at all operating speeds. Extra effort was required to maneuver the vehicle or to simply keep it within the travel lane. I found that very unsafe and that my nissan frontier is not the only one that experiences this behavior. The internet has had a few reports/complaints on this very issue. According to some of these owners, there's a software update to address this issues. However, some dealerships will charge for this software update if your vehicle has gone past the 36k warranty date to the sum of $600 plus out of pocket. This situation is alarming and raises concerns about the reliability of the updates being delivered. Moreover, the lengthy windows of 48 hours for updates, coupled with the expectation of partial updates requiring additional time, have left many of us in a state of uncertainty regarding the functionality of our vehicles and forced to pay out of pocket for a mandatory free recall. 24V499000 - Water Pump failure. Recalled item I have to pay out of pocket for replacement. $500.00 minimum expected out of pocket for the recall item to be replaced. I need to install a topper to protect and secure cargo in the bed which will exceed the 88 lb failure number they state. The fix they say must be implemented is to install 2 Ford supplied load box reinforcement brackets (called J-braces), yet I've been trying to order/obtain said braces for almost 5 months now without success. Ford seems to have given up on producing them as they've been "out of stock" since I purchased my vehicle, and Ford has cancelled my order for them twice now, when I try to submit an order. If the bed fails due to weight above 88 lbs put on the rails while driving, depending on what a failure looks like, it could cause collisions with the affected vehicle, or with other traffic in the vicinity. Ford has been completely unresponsive in issuing a recall so far regarding this known design flaw, yet they redesigned the suspect area mid year to fix the issue on vehicles produced after mid-Sept and going forward. I have experienced two engine failures in my 2005 Ford Mustang due to timing chain issues, specifically the failure of the timing chain cassette, guides, and tensioners in the 4.0L SOHC V6 engine. The first failure happened suddenly with no warning, resulting in severe bottom-end damage, including rod knock. Despite this, my vehicle never displayed a check engine light or oil pressure warning before either failure. Unlike later Mustangs with an oil pressure gauge, mine only has a warning light, which never activated.This issue poses a major safety risk, especially at highway speeds. My first engine failure occurred with no prior symptoms, which could have led to an accident had I been merging or overtaking. A failing timing chain can cause misfires, loss of power, or sudden engine shutdown, endangering the driver and others on the road. Independent mechanics have confirmed this issue, and Ford service centers recognize it as a common problem with the 4.0L SOHC V6 engine. Ford has quoted $3,000–$4,000 for timing chain service, making repairs nearly as expensive as engine replacement. These engines rely on multiple chains and hydraulic tensioners that wear out over time, causing slack in the timing chain, jumped timing, and catastrophic damage, typically after 100,000 miles. Despite this, there are no clear warning systems to alert drivers before failure occurs. Issue with rear door not latching closed when temperatures are below freezing. When attempting to close the door it will just bounce back open. I had to use a ratchet strap to keep the door closed while driving home. Vehicle was taken back to dealership who verified the issue and replaced door latch. Issue occurred again after new latch when left in freezing temperatures. Online research shows

I needed to take my vehicle to an authorized service dealer 200 miles away incurring: 1) $325 expense for a recalled water pump replacement 2) $475 expense for a battery replacement and programming 3) $495 expense for a software update than was incomplete due to failures of the FAST tool. 4) $200 hotel expense due to massive delays in the time needed to do these repairs. The latter is enormously stressful and at unspecified cost to my health. I will also need to incur additional hotel expense. I am happy to testify to the fact that Fisker should be held liable to profiting at the expense of owners, selling and distributing a car that is unfinished and has no warranty, and may be responsible for the loss of lives in the longterm.Read more

At 5pm while driving home, which was 2 hours away, I needed to stop and refuel. At the pump I pushed the fuel door and it would not release to open. After many tries it would not open. I called Volvo On Call and informed them of the problem. The agent relayed that I should go to the back of the car near the fuel door, and with the remote lock and unlock the door which should release the door.
... It did not work. I tried it again with no success. The agent then informed me that there is no other way to open the door and to go to a Volvo dealership to get repaired. I asked the agent is there a way to open the door from the trunk, for instance like a rope to pull to manually open the door. He said unfortunately no. So, I am no where near a dealership and if I was it would be closed, it is after 5pm on February 17 and its 20 degrees outside and I need fuel to get home. I get in my car and search the internet on a possible way to open the door and I see that this is a big problem with Volvo that has affected many families and individuals that, as I, have been put in a compromised possibly dangerous position. While at the gas station I fortunately saw a tow truck and asked the driver if I could borrow a screw driver to try to pry open the door to which I was successful. A simple pull cord in the trunk, as some vehicles have, would have solved this issue without putting anyone in a precarious situation. I took my car to a mechanic and he replaced the fuel door lock solenoid.Read more

On three occurrences I was driving my vehicle and it suddenly and abruptly stopped in the middle of traffic. The entire vehicle shut down and would not drive or move forward. My two children and I were traveling to another state and had been driving about 2 hours when the engine in my 2022 Suburban suddenly quit working while I was in the middle of a highway. I had just accelerated and merged onto a multi-lane highway moving all the way to the far left lane when my engine completely went quiet and seemed to quit working. The car all of a sudden shifted into Neutral and
... started losing speed. I had to put my hazard lights on and cross back across the lanes to get back over to the emergency lane on the right all while losing speed. We were all pretty scared because the Suburban just seemed to quit working and wasn't responding. I'm thankful we were able to get safely to the emergency lane before the car completely stopped. Once I was in the emergency lane, I tried to see if the car would go back into Drive position but it would not. I turned the car off and waited about a minute and tried to power it back on but the only thing that worked was the electrical stuff in the car (the screen for my dashboard and car play/nav system) and the engine remained quiet. Once the tow truck arrived an hour later, the worker tried to jump the engine but it did not respond. It was obviously scary and has been a huge inconvenience but it also left us in a very unfortunate situation because we were in a different state and did not know the area or anyone nearby that could come and pick us up once the tow truck arrived. I was pretty much stranded with my 2 daughters and all of our luggage in a different state on the side of the road.Read more
