Mercedes subframes that prematurely rust or deteriorate. Mercedes has extended warranty for the mentioned parts on some models. But clearly it is not enough because more models have the same issues. This is a serious safety issues and Mercedes should have taken more responsibility.

The headlight assemblies to my vehicle have become defective. The headlight assembly, both right and left, has moisture intrusion within the headlight assembly, creating condensation build-up inside the housing. ... . I purchased a certified used vehicle with Tustin Acura in August of 2022 and also purchased an extended warranty for piece of mind. In the 2 1/2 years that I have owned the vehicle, I have added about 25k miles and have always garaged the vehicle. When the issue was reviewed by the dealer, they refused to cover the problem under warranty and requested that I reach out to American Honda for further assistance. I did that but was denied and told the issue was caused by "outside influence," but provided no explanation as to what this meant. To me it felt like I was being blamed for clearly a defective issue. A Google search of this issues revealed to me that this was a common issue with 2019 Acura MDX vehicles. To replace the headlights would be a cost to me of nearly $3,000. it seems almost ridiculous to pay for clearly defective equipment. I fear that my inability to afford this great expense with lead to headlight failure that could result in a collision if this failure were to occur at night.Read more

While pulling out onto a very busy highway in North Dallas, I had to "step" on it in order to make the turn. Immediatley after making the turn I went to "step" on it and the truck shifted into Neutral with heavy traffic. Luckily I was able to coast to a turning lane safely. ... night was an extremely cold night with subfreezing temperatures. Not being able to start the truck meant no heater and myself and my girlfriend quickly became very cold. After calling OnStar we waiting almost 45 minutes for roadside assistance. However, they were only coming to try and jump start the truck and had to request a second roadside assistance to come and tow the vehicle. The vehicle could not be shifted into Neutral and a flatbed truck had to be used and the truck had to be drug up onto the tow truck. When I first stopped the truck and shifted it into Park, the engine was still running and sounded normal. It just could not be shifted into any gears. However, the GM dealership is telling me the engine seized up and needs to be replaced and could take 4-8 weeks just to locate an engine. Although no one was hurt or injured thankfully, the safety risk when this happened could have been very bad and deadly. Not to mention not being able to have heat during extreme cold temperatures is a safety concern. Had the truck not been able to be parked in a safe area, and not being able to be shifted to Neutral, this also could pose a safety risk.Read more

I have some major safety concerns with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, specifically with the AEB. I was like maybe a leaf or something blew over the sensor and kind of wrote it off because nothing came up on my Jeep app. Fast forward to today, February 25th. Again roads are dry, no one is coming towards me, driving 60 mph in a straight stretch and wham the auto emergency brakes slam on again! Hard brake from 60-0 mph. AEB lights flashing and dinging, locking seat belts and whiplashing your head forward as you screech to an uncontrolled stop. I had absolutely no control over my brakes or gas! This time I’m livid bc my children were in the car with me! Thank goodness everyone was properly wearing seatbelts and in car seats, and I had both hands on the steering wheel, and it was not on a bend in the road because this could have been very dangerous and not ended well! This is NOT ok and there is nothing at all that blocked a sensor or would have had any reason to cause the Jeep to engage this feature. I should not have to be afraid to drive my Jeep and now it’s literally terrifying to drive it bc you never know if it’s going to happen. Several problems have shown up since purchasing this car in December of last year. The back window has rolled down on it's own about 6 times within the same week I purchased the car. The head unit in the vehicle had to be reset by the dealer when they first traded the car in, according to service history and it's still having problems. I can hear the other caller on phone calls intermittently but
... they can't hear me. My phone has briefly disconnected from the Bluetooth system saying it couldn't be found. I thought it might be a phone issue but I got another phone and it still does it. I have a video of the head unit being completely unresponsive. The music was playing but none of the buttons were doing anything when I pushed them and the map was all that it would show. I've also had issues with burning smells when using the heated steering wheel and heated seats. I believe there is an electrical problem causing all of this but since the dealer can't duplicate the problem when I've driven it into service, they are refusing to do anything. The collision detector also goes off on it's own when I'm nowhere near another car.Read more

Started vehicle and went to back up. Car slammed into reverse and disply showed Drive start control malfunction. The service engine light came on. I removed the battery to reset the error message and the following dayi took it to the dealership. They checked it out and told me that they didnt find anything wrong with it since it wasnt displaying a service engine light. So i went home with it. The
... next day it did it again so i took it back to them while the condition was happening. Which insisted of the error message, serv eng light, gearshift indicator displaying drive and park at the same time. Also the door locks were continually locking and unlocking. They put a new water valve plus a neut switch assy and a new xmission lever in it and told me it was fixed. I picked it up and the next day it did it again. Returned it to them and they said that the new part was possibly bad from Toyota, ordered a new one, put it in and said it was all good now. I picked car up and 9 months later its happening again. On October 10th 2024, my 2015 Kia Optima caught fire while I was driving. The fire originated from the engine compartment, completely engulfing the vehicle in flames within minutes. Component/System Failure: The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but Kia had previously issued a recall for this model due to an engine defect that posed a fire risk. ... as it was completely destroyed in the fire. However, I have multiple videos documenting the incident, including footage of the fire and the aftermath. Safety Risk: My safety and the safety of others were severely compromised. The fire started suddenly while I was driving, forcing me to evacuate the vehicle immediately. If I hadn’t reacted quickly, I could have suffered serious injuries or worse. Additionally, the fire posed a danger to other drivers and pedestrians nearby. Reproduction/Confirmation: The issue has not been reproduced, but it aligns with the recall Kia issued for this model. Prior to the fire, I attempted to schedule an appointment with Kia to address the recall, but I never received confirmation, and no inspection was performed. Inspections: After the incident, I contacted Kia, and they sent an investigator to inspect the remains of the vehicle. No police or insurance representatives conducted an independent inspection. Warning Signs: There were no warning lights, messages, or obvious signs of a problem immediately before the fire. However, I had previously noticed a recall related to fire risk for my specific model and attempted to schedule an appointment with Kia, but they never responded. Given Kia’s history of engine fire recalls, I strongly believe this incident is related to the known defects in this vehicle model.Read more
