This is a 2022 Ford F15 . In 2023 ,at 34000 miles the tranfer case broke down in the middle of the road,waiting at a stop light. The truck needed to be towed. The dealer fixed it under the warranty. In 2024 at 57000 miles ,the same transfer case broke down as i was getting out of my driveway. Again it was towed to the dealer. In Feb 2025 i drove out of state and i observed a white smoke behing me.

Now the car is at the dealer again. The worst part is even if I had an appointment 2 weeks later from the date i called, representative told me it will take another 2 weeks to fix the trans! Every time the truck was at the dealer it took 2 weeks to get fixed and every time they told me theyy don’t have a loaner. That is my work truck and i can’t miss 2 weeks of work! I asked the representative what is going on with a car that is still under warranty and the transfer case broke twice in 2 years. The answer was that Ford knows about this problem but they do not have a solution to fix it properly. I asked him what I’m suppose to do after the warranty runs out? Same guy told me that Ford will issue a recall and as long as there is a recall they will fix it with no extra charge but there is no recall on transfer cases from Ford! My mechanic is less than 10 minutes away by the time they got it there they couldn’t do anything to move the vehicle. It had to be jacked up on the flatbed and rolled off because the car would not do anything My mechanic spent two weeks going through the computer system only to find out that I needed a software update and that my computer software had major glitches and electrical issues. Sometimes when I get into my vehicle to start it, it won’t start. I’ve learned that I need to put both feet on the brake. Push it all the way to the floor wait a second and then it will start otherwise my break seizes up and I’m locked out of my vehicle for at least an hour. This has happened to me on the side of highways in public parking lots in front of my home at the grocery stor. This past week I’ve had to get my car jumped 2 different times because when I turn my car off and lock it, my brake lights do not turn off and it killed my battery. ... highway for about 2.5 hours. It was running in gas engine mode since the battery power had been off for 1.5hrs. It was also about 30F in VT that day. The turtle mode came on as soon as we exited the highway. The vehicle was drivable, but there was almost no acceleration from 0-20mph. Once the car was above 25 mph and 2k RPM’s it could run 40-60mph but it had no brisk acceleration. When we stopped at lights, the poor acceleration continued all the way to our destination (so it ran 1.5 hours in Turtle Mode). But this is certainly a flow of traffic issue as the car pulls away from stops at a very slow and deliberate speed forcing other drivers to alter their driving. When we parked the car at our destination both the Turtle warning light and check engine light were still illuminated. Several hours later for our 4-hour return trip back from VT, when we started the car the check engine light was on but the Turtle warning indicator was off. They put a diagnostic device on it and it drove fine from December 2024 until yesterday, March 9, 2025, when the same brake issue came up again and we couldn’t get van started. We left it in the parking lot and our son came and gave us a ride home. Around 10pm last night our son and my husband went back to see if they could get it started to at least get it home. Many tries were unsuccessful until the last try when our son had the driver side door open and turned on the ignition. On the screen it said “Shifter needs service”. My husband had been unable to reach a service personnel to read the device on the van. In the meantime, I called another Chrysler dealer, told them what was going on with van, and asked about the recalls. The lady there was very nice and asked for the VIN on van. She looked it up and said the recall for shifter went out in December 2018, and the issue on our van was fixed in 2020. Is there a way to find the month and day as well as the year in the history? We purchased the van on November 24, in 2020. Is it possible the issue has returned? The recall said it had something to do with dashboard design and something was replaced with the dashboard that was a real safety issue. ... r feeling like I was in the clear, I brought the truck up to 45-50mph. Suddenly, the truck began bouncing like crazy, and I was able to manage pulling off to the side of the road. The shoulder was only a couple feet wide, followed by a steep hill, so my truck was sticking out into the road quite far, and it was night time. I sprung into action as quickly as possible to minimize risk as I went to change the tire and replace with the spare. Since it was night time, and the road only had one lane in each direction, there were at least 3 times that my car / myself were almost rammed into, or the car approaching me wasn't able to see cars approaching from the other direction, and almost caused a head on collision. There hasn't been an official inspection of the tire yet. There were no warning lamps prior to the failure. Burning oil at any unacceptable rate. I have made sure to have preventative maintenance and oil changes done every 3K miles. Hyundai needs to address this problem that appears to be plaguing many drivers.

The battery failed at 2k miles and needed to be replaced. Both axles need to be replaced due to failed CV joint. There is clicking with turns. When backing up, emergency braking engages and leads us to stop in the middle of busy roads. This is a safety issue.
