Engine locked up while driving down the highway, no warning or anything. Only 19,000 miles. This happened on November 30th 2024 and Yukon is still in the shop. They have installed 2 motors, which all have failed.

Initially, the extended warranty company told us they would replace the entire engine instead of just the cam and lifters. Then they came back and said since we drove it in for repair rather than having it towed, they would not cover it. At the advice of multiple parties, it has been found this engine has so much metal in it, they've never seen anything this bad before. It is impossible it was due to driving it the 5 miles to be serviced. We have requested pictures and documentation about their findings and they are refusing to provide us with them. I have been waiting on parts for the A-Pillar trim recall for a couple years. I've checked with 3 different local Ford dealers and have been told these parts are still back-ordered. This is a safety issue as the trim can detach while driving at higher speeds on the interstate.

The rear driver’s side and rear center seat belts no longer latch. When sliding the belt into the recepticle it fails to “click” or connect. The belt pulls right back out. It does not work at all, it is reproducible every time. The dealer will charge a lot of money to say that they ran diagnostics to tell me what is obvious, so I have not brought it in yet. By all appearances, the high voltage battery seems to be defective and is causing a safety issue because it could result in a sudden loss of power during driving or an unexpected shutdown of the vehicle. This may also be a symptom of an even more serious battery defect that could result in a battery fire. We brought the vehicle to the dealer, and they were able to reproduce the severe drop in range. No components have been replaced yet, we are still waiting to hear which parts will be replaced under warranty service. Additional safety features for an accident are supposed to include four ways being automatically turned on in the car, unlocking the passengers had to engage the 4-way lights and the passenger side front had to unlock the car to be assisted by Paramedics. Additionally, the back driver side tire is completely flat and reads as such within the app at 0 PSI however, the front driver side passenger tire is ripped from its rim and still reading fully at 39 psi. Despite the car being unable to start, additionally, the app is showing that all systems are fine within the car. Finally, the brakes the driver stated their foot was all the way to the floor attempting to break and the passenger front side also heard a severe grinding noise. No warning, lights or lamps appeared during the accident. In addition no warning lights were visible within the app post accident. Finally, there was not an alert sent through the app. Insurance company has considered the car totaled. These have been unable to be reproduced. We have requested that our insurance save and document everything in our insurance, USAA has been unresponsive at this time. Our car has already been moved to Copart Philadelphia and is potentially pending auction. We have requested documentation multiple times.Read more

The truck check engine lights came on, and I took it to a dealer. I was told the ECM was faulty, they replaced it, but it didn't fix the issue. I was then told the ONSTAR telematics unit was faulty. The truck has been down for 45 days, with no ETA on parts(several forms say 4-6 months). There is no guarantee that this will fix the CEL. The truck is inoperable at this time.

The transmission was violently jerking when accelerating to get on the interstate. Our Explorer is available for inspection upon request. It was dangerous in that we couldn't have a consistent speed when joining oncoming traffic on the road. The local Ford dealer did confirm the transmission needed replacement. Ford did an inspection on the original transmission and confirmed it was damaged.

This is known issue by Ford, especially for the Explorers, but they are not standing behind their powertrains. The transmission studders and temporarily loss of power. Chrysler is aware of issue but will not do anything until nhtsa makes a recall. This is our family of 5 primary vehicle, and we are afraid of this issues causing an accident that can cause harm if not death. I thought the S44 recall would cover the vehicle but it's not listed.
