... ulled into a parking space in front of a building and all of a sudden the car surged forward unexpectedly even without me pressing the pedal leading to me crashing through the glass windows into the building. No warning lights were on. The car had two known issue with Unintended Acceleration and throttle delay yet no recall has been issued. My safety and the safety of 15 others was a risk and the crash did result in injuries. The building was full of students and clients and they were hurt along with major property damage to the building. State Farm declared the car was a total loss due to all the damage to my car and we have no idea the amount of damage done to the building. The business had to be closed for repairs and they are still closed. I have filed a product liability claim with Toyota case number 250407002330. Toyota will get with State Farm to see if an inspection can be made of the car as I have transferred ownership to State Farm as of April 4, 2025. The car was picked up by State Farm on April 5, 2025. I just discovered the known issue with the car this weekend so I do not think an inspection was done other than the body shop estimate.Read more

I was able to cancel the tow and drive the short distance home. It was scary because it came out of nowhere and this is a BRAND NEW CAR with only about 27,000 miles on it. The problem quickly showed up again soon after this service, so the vehicle was brought back to the dealer for further checkup a couple of times, the result was always the same, no problem found, and the vehicle was OK to drive. I have lived with this problem ever since and on occasion it got even worse at higher speeds (around 65mph) when the gears seemed to go to neutral for a few seconds and then re-engage again on its own. Knowing that the car had always acted funny and the fact that the dealer never found any issues, I thought it must be more of the same. Finally, a couple of weeks ago (March 25 of 2025) the transmission gave up completely while my wife was driving the car, luckily it was not in a highway, she had enough time to pull to the side of the road but once the car stopped, it would not get into gear again. I have called the dealer for assistance, but they tell me the car is not under warranty anymore and there is no recall pending for this VIN, they could take it in, but the repairs would not be covered by them. This has prompted me to look into the issue further and found out that Acura issued a service bulleting number 17-026 back in 2018 which describes the same symptoms as what I describe above, they extended the warranty to 10 years but when I called them they say that it does not apply to my VIN because of a different manufacturing location (despite the fact that the symptoms are the same). ... ssing inspection include excessive play in the bushing of the right front upper control arm, excessive play in the ball joint of the right front lower control arm, issues with both front struts, and excessive wear on the stub shafts of the front differential assembly, necessitating a front axle replacement since a kit is unavailable. Additionally, both front axle shafts need attention, and I require four-wheel spacers to prevent tire rubbing, as well as four fender flares. Within the first 30 days of purchase, I informed the dealership about the truck's tires not passing inspection. They acknowledged the tires were worn but claimed they still passed. When alignment issues arose due to bad ball joints, the dealership insisted the ball joints were up to spec. Unsatisfied, I sought a second opinion from another Dodge dealership, which confirmed the ball joints were faulty and identified additional issues with the front axles, struts, control arms, and front differential assembly. I provided this information to the original dealership, seeking repairs, but was again told there was nothing they could do. I have documented all my communications with the dealership and their responses. At the time of purchase, I received a powertrain warranty through Zurich that covers the front axles and front differential assembly. The system that is not working properly is the transmission. It is available for inspection upon request. The safety of the vehicle, and myself, was put at risk because the transmission (once warmed up / at least 30-60 minutes of driving takes place) downshifts hard, making a clunking noise, and has at worst given the vehicle a rough nudge/jolt forward upon downshifting particularly from 2nd to 1
... st gear (it is a 10 speed transmission). This issue, when it occurs, will require me (the driver) to apply extra force to the brake pedal due to the rough downshift / jolt upon shift. The issue is exacerbated when quickly stopping the vehicle causing the transmission to downshift more rapidly. The vehicle's transmission flaws, of which this happens to be one of them, were being looked into at a certified repair facility (dealership). After the vehicle was in their possession 3 days, they informed me that they could not replicated or reproduce the issue. I informed and reminded the following: (1) the vehicle has to be warm and operated for I would state at least 30-60 minutes of driving before the issue arises (2) I have recorded videos of the problematic sounds of the transmission. (3) I am willing to go for a test drive to try to replicate the issue with dealership staff, but the issue is infrequent and the vehicle must be warmed-up and/or driven more than the typical "test drive" for the issue to be observed. The vehicle component has been inspected by a certified repair facility (dealership), but not directly by a manufacturer's direct representative, police, insurance representatives, or others. The transmission is also problematic in another way (rattling at low rpm's during upshift), but pertaining to safety the downshift is most concerning as described above. There were/are no warning lamps or messages. The symptoms of the problem pertaining to the transmission began occurring around 11,800-12,000 miles in my estimation.Read more

Since purchasing the vehicle august 2024, I have experienced a noticeable noise emanating from the front axles whenever I turn the steering wheel in either direction. This noise is concerning and suggests a potential mechanical problem. I have taken my vehicle to Ocean Honda ventura on two separate occasions for diagnosis and repair of this issue. On both instances, the front axles were replaced.

During my most recent visit on 04/03/2025, I was informed by Honda representatives that they have exhausted all current solutions and that there is nothing further they can do to resolve the noise issue at this time. I am deeply concerned about this ongoing problem. The persistent noise when turning indicates a potential defect that could compromise the safety and reliability of my vehicle. Despite two attempts at repair involving the replacement of the front axles, the issue remains, and Honda has indicated an inability to provide a further remedy. Kia is aware of the engine oil consumption causing misfires, failed emissions test, blowing a rod and engine lock up.
