The car recently underwent a software update at the dealership for a backup camera issue. When I was driving home on the highway, the car suddenly braked and the seat belts automatically tightened up. This happened 3 additional times on the highway about 5 days later. I had turned off the automatic braking system and it seemed to go away. Then, with the system off, we experienced this again ye

Paint is bubbling and peeling around rear window inlay. We noticed it in August 2024, but not sure when it actually started happening. Car was not in an accident, and is in an area where there was never any exterior damage. I contacted honda and they reviewed the case and did not consider it an issue or defect caused by manufacturer. I know honda has had issues with the white paint, but I believe
... my paint has the same defect due to the location and how the paint is coming off. I also contacted my local honda dealer and they advised normally, for this issue, they would do a courtesy warranty repair, but since we don't service our vehicles there they wouldn't honor that. I want this documented for honda paint issues because I am sure I am not the only one with the problem.Read more

The headlights are dim. I have replaced them with brighter H11 bulbs but I still cannot see. Others who have driven my car have indicated that the headlights are noticeably dimmer than normal. I literally cannot see the roadway. Also, I started having problems with the CVT shortly before 60,000miles. The problem was diagnosed as rudder codes. I was not financially able to replace the CVT at

I recently have started experiencing a sticky/jerky steering wheel (24K miles). It happens when the car is fully warmed up on longer road trips whether the cruise control engaged or not. In fact, it's worse without cruise control. The steering wheel requires stronger pull and then releases quickly. I could not reproduce it at the dealership as it's nearby and does not require a long trip, but of c
... ourse right after I left it, the steering wheel started sticking again. The technician did not know what it could be and stated he could not reproduce the issue. There is no issues with alignment or tire balancing. I am noticing it more consistently in warmer weather. It is not an issue at all when it's 20 degrees F. No lights are triggered. I believe this is a huge safety issue as I constantly need to correct the steering when it is stuck. I posted this issue on Reddit with multiple owners experiencing the same problem: [XXX] / It is also the same problem as Honda Civic 2022-2023 models have. 1st noticed problem- turning sharply to the right heard clunking coming from under car. Put car into reverse and felt like brake was on. But wasn't. Clunking stop when put back into forward and parked car. One hour later, drove a mile and a half home. No clunking until I backed into driveway. Clunking stopped after going in reverse about 10-15 feet. Drove to Dealer next morning. Couldn't
... get clunking to happen at quicklane. A few days later went to lunch and was backing into parking spot and clunking returned. After lunch drove to Dealer. They witnessed the clunking. Put car on hoist and checked obvious spots nothing found. Provided loaner and after determining differential was the problem. (almost $5000.00). Problem repaired next day. Had car about 2 weeks and clunking appeared when we were 3 hours away from Dealer. Called and made it to the dealer before closing. Clunking was noticed and this time at the dealer the transfer case was the issue. (Another $5000.00). They said this was the cause of the differential problems. After waiting for a week for ford to release a new transfer case, the car was again repaired. The mileage range of 400 to 1000 was given for the parts to get back in sync and stop making the clunking. We have now have about 600 miles after the last repair and an occasional clunking is still appearing. One more note. We will be traveling to Michigan from Florida in 2 weeks. (1771 miles). Is this car a lemon? Issues started after 60,000 checkup was done.Read more

The 48V Belt Starter Generator failed on my 2020 Ram 1500 with the 5.7L eTorque system. It caused my truck to stall in the middle of a busy intersection at a red light. I was stuck in a dangerous spot cars were coming around a turn at 45–55 mph, and since my hazard lights started dying too, I had to get out in the rain and
... wave people away so they wouldn’t hit me. I was honestly afraid for my life. I ended up calling 911 and my insurance to get towed out of there. Before it happened, I saw a battery warning and something about the battery system. A mechanic and a dealer confirmed the issue was the 48V generator. I started calling around for the part, and every dealer I spoke with told me it’s on national backorder. One told me there were over 2,600 people already waiting for it, another said over 3,000 are on the list and no one has any idea when they’ll get them. There are a lot of people dealing with this, and it’s not just an inconvenience it’s dangerous. This part failing leaves people stranded in traffic, sometimes without power or lights. Something needs to be done. A recall would be the right thing.Read more

Purchased a 2020 Palisade in March of 2024 with 76k miles on it. Asked the dealership we bought it from to look at the transmission after a week of owning the car, they said it was fine. I took it to Hallmark Hyundai dealership on 9/26/24 and they would not look at it until i had the transmission fluid flushed this was at 88430 miles. It was barely making it up a hill, we had the gas pedal to the

I scheduled to have the transmission fluid flushed at a local certified mechanic and he found tons of metal shaving and chunks throughout the fluid this was done at 89368 miles. I took it to Wilson County Hyundai after this was done and they said I needed a full transmission replacement this was done at 89643. They replaced the transmission, and on my way home from picking the car up there was metal grinding sounds coming from the transmission. I called Wilson County back and they asked me to bring it back, it was back on their lot less than 24 hours later. The transmission that was sent from the manufacture was a faulty transmission. The replaced the new transmission, and the sound stopped this was done at 89730 miles. After a couple thousand miles the metal grinding came back, along with the hard shifting, gear skipping, excessive vibration between gears, going up in RPMs but not shifting. I took it Jim Johnson Hyundai and they reset the Transmission adaptive, this is not fix the problem this was done at 96497. Our engine started making a loud knocking noise that was clearly not good. We had a friend who is a mechanic come put it on the computer and he diagnosed that the rocker arm took out some valves or lifters. He looked up the car and found a recall for our make and model (2017 MDX with the 3.5L engine) that matches our exact issue. But the VIN does not appear in the search so our car is not cove
... red by the recall despite it clearly being caused by the defect. I understand that there is an investigation into this that the NHTSA opened and Honda has been pushing for extensions. I was encouraged to add our car to this list to help you all see that the problem is much larger than originally thought. We are in a very tough spot and do not have the $5-10k to replace the engine. If the recall is not expanded soon, our only hope is that we get a goodwill repair. We have requested this, but are waiting to hear back from the dealer. Thank you for looking into this. I’m sure we are not the only people in a tough financial spot being affected by this. We appreciate your efforts to protect consumers!Read more
