The ABS system in this vehicle flashes warnings at quick restarts and while holding the brake down, it has no “sponge” when this happens. The brakes squeal constantly. I’ve had them inspected at every single maintenance and there can be no flaw found. When driving on the interstate, the engine is very “jerky” almost like the transmission can’t keep up with the speed of 70-80mph (not
... always, but it is noticeable when it happens). At first I didn’t think much of it but with the mass recall of chevys identified, I believe it needs to go on record - particularly about the brakes.Read more

On the [XXX], my 2012 Hyundai Accent caught fire in the engine compartment and engulfed in flames. Right before the fire started, smoke came out of the air vents into the car, causing me to become stifled and choke for several minutes. Smoke was also coming out of the hood. At that point, I lifted the hood and there were flames coming out of the engine. During the past six months prior to the fire

Last week, the collision avoidance braking system activated without being triggered by an actual hazard. I was traveling btw 30 and 40 mph on a straight road, overcast conditions, no pedestrian or oncoming traffic or vehicle in front of me, nor any shadows, or roadworks that could be perceived as a problem. My car flashed the BRAKE sign and immediately braked very hard, car coming to a full stop.
... LUCKILY no one was behind me, or I'm sure i would have been rear-ended. I was able to continue driving normally right away, but It was very alarming and unsettling to happen with no provocation. This has been reported by others. I disabled the avoidance braking system for the next few days until I could get the car into my local dealer which happened today, 4/29/25. They ran complete diagnostics, could not replicate the problem, confirming the camera and forward radar sensor were working properly. I have never had any warning lights or messages come on prior or since, and the car has otherwise performed very well. Needless to say, I have less confidence in this car now. I was advised to NOT disable the warning/braking system as without it, i could not be protected by it should it be truly needed. This makes me very uncomfortable, but i don't feel there is another choice at this time.Read more

I have had intermittent issue with a message to shift the car to park when I shut it off. It was in park. If I wiggled the shifter it would often correct. That went on for a few years on and off. Lately it was more persistent. I brought it into the dealer and they replaced a harness and a switch. Seems that a harness would not go bad unless it had a manufacturer defect. I have seen a lot
... of reports on this issue on online blog sites. Seems to be a common problem. The problem with this defect is that when it is sin that mode, you cannot safely secure the vehicle and warning bells keep ringing. So the vehicle cannot be left like that and expect it to be secure.Read more

The power steering failed. The message display keeps indicating that there is a power steering system fault which results in a loss of my ability to steer the car, increasing the risk of being involved in a crash. The first time the message appeared was around the beginning of March. When I consulted the Owners Manual, it instructs the driver to stop the car, turn off the engine for at least ten
... seconds and reset the system to restart the engine. It happened infrequently a few more times, but functioned again each time until around April 24th. According to the manual, there should have been a message reading "service power steering now". I don't remember ever seeing that message, just the one that's still displayed (POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT). I haven't had the car towed to the dealership yet, but I have called to ask about a 2015 recall of 2011 Ford Fusions for such a defect. Both Ford Company and the dealership tell me that there was no recall for such a hazard related to my specific VIN so the diagnosis and repair will be at my expense.Read more

The MMI (multi-media interface) frequently reboots during driving, resulting in a black screen and the inoperability of key systems such as the backup camera, rear obstacle detection, navigation, and cell phone tethering (for hands-free operation). These reboots require user input, including entering a PIN to log into the user account (if set up) and repeatedly tapping on the MMI, which can be hig
... hly distracting while driving. By its very nature, the reboot catches the driver by surprise and requires diverting attention from driving.Typically, this user input is provided while stationary, immediately after starting the vehicle. The issue emerged sometime in February or March 2025. The vehicle was last serviced on February 7, 2025, at an Audi dealer. The dealer performed the recommended 50,000-mile service and did not identify any abnormalities related to the MMI during the multi-point vehicle inspection. This issue constitutes a safety concern, as reboots can occur during reverse parking maneuvers, rendering the backup camera and obstacle detection sensors inoperable until the system reloads. Additionally, reboots completely disable the navigation screens and necessitate multiple user inputs to restore functionality, which can be hazardous while driving. Many states have enacted hands-free laws and requirements that mandate the use of dash-mounted systems to comply with these regulations. The reboots render such systems inoperative. Numerous reports on online user forums suggest that this issue is widespread and affects the same model year vehicles. For instance, see https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-b9-platform-discussion-212/mib3-2020-mmi-rebooting-spontaneously-2020-a4-3082501/. Several Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) indicate that available software updates should be applied to address infotainment-related issues. Relevant TSB numbers include: TSB 2067021, TSB 2076404, and TSB 2069112.Read more

I own a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T which has had door latch issues. Recently, the front passenger side door latch needed to be fully replaced due to a failure which caused the door to be loose latching and the latch sensor always showing open. I paid out-out-pocked for this repair as the Hyundai dealership said there are models which this exact issue was identified, but they said the par
... ts extension had not been placed for my exact vehicle. They were also confused as to why this was not being covered as they see so many of these same repairs. Now, less than one month later, the front driver's side door is now experiencing lock issues in which a loud grinding noise is occurring when the vehicle attempts to lock or unlock the door. Additionally, the door does not unlock some of the time from the external and the manual door handle on the interior is getting harder and harder to open. Both of these issues are consistent with other recalls for other Hyundai models and consistent with the door latch module and actuator failure. I would like to file a complaint regarding this issue as it seems to be a common issue with Hyundai models using this door latch module. I believe the parts extension and repairs for these door latches should be covered by Hyundai especially as this becomes a large safety issue with driving the vehicle with concerns of door latch stability and security.Read more

We were driving on the interstate and the car completely shut off. It went to the 'restart engine' screen. My husband put it in neutral and tried to coast off the interstate almost getting hit by cars going 70+ mph. Cars were swerving not to hit us as we coasted across three lanes. One car almost hit another car because they quickly tried to go around us because of our decreasing speed and made
... that car swerve into the other lane. We ended up only inches off the right lane. We had 2 teenagers and our 1 year old baby in the car with us in the Florida heat. Sitting in that car was truly traumatizing because every semi that passed us, the whole car was shaking because we were so close to the line. I just knew that someone was going to veer off inches and wipe us completely out. Because the engine just shut off, we barely made it off the road so cars were honking at us because they knew the danger we were in not being far enough off the shoulder. We all had to climb out the doors on the right because opening the left side doors would be in the right lane of the interstate. There we sat for 2 hours in 99 degree weather with a 1 year old (who also got bit by ants being in the high grassy area off the interstate) waiting for a tow truck to pick up the Yukon to tow it in to a location that isn't even where we live. We had to wait on someone to come pick us up that could hold 5 people and a car seat plus all of our sports equipment that we had for our tournament that weekend that we were headed home from. A nightmare, truly a nightmare. There was no warning, no lights came on, no heads up that the car was about to completely shut off going 75 mph. It just did, without warning. I was never informed about the POTENTIAL of a recall, or I would have been the first one at the door to get it checked out. My car has been recalled for faulty piston oil rings which can lead to engine fires. I took my car to the Kia dealership on 4/14/25. It is still there and the engine replacement still has not been approved. I was told by the dealership that my car did fail the vibration test. I was told by a Kia technician at another location that since the vibration test failed that is an automatic approval for a
... new engine per Recall Flow Chart. The only time it should go through Kia Techline for assistance is if it passed the test and needs additional investigation. NOW, Kia Corporate is stating I need to provide oil change receipts. THIS IS IRRELEVANT. If I drive that car off the lot with the current engine and have my engine cleaned out to their satisfaction and then a week later my engine catches fire because they refused to replace the engine, that's a lawsuit whether I live or die in that scenario. Oil change receipts and maintenance records should play no part in this. I did buy my car used, but all the original parts are still inside. There have been no modifications. The dealership can attest to this. Bottom line is the Kia manufacturer owes me a new engine because this is a safety issue. I am attaching a copy of the Flowchart that was sent to me by the Kia tech at another location. There is no reason that this should not have already been approved and ordered for my vehicle 2 weeks later. I want this done and I need your help, please! I do not feel safe driving a car around that could at any time burst into flames.Read more

While shopping at the grocery store, I experienced an incident upon leaving the parking lot. After reaching my first red light, I noticed smoke rapidly billowing from under the hood of my vehicle. My husband, who was driving behind me, immediately saw the smoke and instructed me to pull over. Once I stopped, he asked me to pop the hood. Upon opening it, he urgently removed his shirt to try and ext
... inguish the fire. The damage was extensive — a hole burned through the hood, significantly compromising the vehicle’s crash safety rating. Additionally, melted plastic covered the battery area, and the radiator hose was damaged, rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive.Read more

We got the car to the dealership, they performed a scan and found no codes. They preformed a total coolant flush as per Service Campaign T9E. We bought this car used just 2 months prior and found through previous maintenance history that this EV had this service Campaign T9E done in January 2024. Our concern with this issue is two fold, 1) My wife could have been anywhere when the car went into: Don’t drive me mode. 2) is this going to be an annual event, which will cost several hundred dollars to address each time when this may no longer be covered by warrantyRead more

While driving warnings for adaptive cruise, blind spot, forward collision, front camera, park aid etc start and then all the system quit. I have pictures. I took my car to dealership to be checked. At first I was told they could find nothing wrong. I showed them pictures of my alerts and messages on my ford pass app. I was told a software patch would be sent. I contacted them again to ask if ther
