This truck was parked on a job site, on a flat parking lot over blacktop, doing a regen for the 5th time in just a few days. The truck had 4,000 miles on it. When it completed the regen, we shut the truck off. Within 15 minutes the truck was fully engulfed in flames. A fire investigator looked at it and determined the fire started in the engine bay, below the master cylinder. He said this was a
... GM problem. As this truck was a replacement truck, for another broken down truck, we were outside the auto coverage on our insurance. The business property is covering the tool loss, and said it isnt worth going after GM as they make it impossible. I know this isnt the only vehicle this has happened to, and they simply refuse to even answer. I want to file a formal complaint against GM, and want them to cover the loss, the loss of use. This is a safety matter as this could have happened driving down the road and caused loss of life.Read more

While driving, especially on the highway over the last few months, my steering has seemed to catch or stick to where you have to turn the wheel harder than you should have to in order to stay in the lane. After my husband did some research online he found out that there is already a recall (NHTSA Recall# 24V-744) for this "sticky steering" on the 22-25 Civic and 23-25 Honda CRV, HRV, and Acura Integra. I called the dealership and they said that although they know about this issue, since it is not under warranty, car has 60000 miles, and is not included in the recall, I would have to pay $120 for them to diagnose it. The serviceman recommended I fix it soon because it is a mechanical part that could fail causing a serious safety issue putting me and others on the road at risk. He said that I would have to pay the entire amount to fix it though since it is out of warranty and not included in the recall. Please encourage Honda to include the 2022 CRV in the recall!Read more

I am reporting a recurring safety issue following the Acura rod bearing recall repair on my 2019 Acura MDX SH-AWD. I regularly transport children in this vehicle and no longer have confidence in the safety or reliability of the recall repair. The dealership has continued repairing the vehicle and providing loaners, indicating the issue is related to the original recall repair, but the underlying problem has still not been resolved despite multiple repair attempts. I am submitting this report because the recall repair has not resulted in safe and reliable vehicle operation.Read more

When I purchased my vehicle new, it was equipped with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires, sized 285/30/20 in the front and 305/30/20 in the rear. After approximately 2,000 miles, the tires began exhibiting what appeared to be belt or tread separation. By approximately 5,000 miles, the vehicle had become unsafe to drive. The handling deteriorated significantly, and the car felt unstable, as though
... it were riding on a soft or shifting surface. Goodyear inspected the tires and determined that they were defective. Goodyear agreed to provide a partial discount toward replacement tires, but I was still required to pay the majority of the replacement cost, as well as the installation fees. After the replacement Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires were installed, the exact same issue occurred again at nearly the same mileage. By approximately 5,000 miles on the replacement set, the vehicle was once again unsafe to drive. The instability created several dangerous situations, and in my opinion, a less experienced or less skilled driver could easily have lost control of the vehicle or been involved in an accident. Goodyear again acknowledged that the tires were defective, but this time offered an even smaller discount toward another replacement set. This is unacceptable, particularly given that the same failure occurred twice, at almost the same mileage, on the same model tire. After reviewing owner forums, consumer reviews, reseller comments, and other publicly available complaints, it appears that this issue is not isolated. There are numerous reports suggesting similar premature failures or separation-related problems with these tires. Based on my experience and the volume of similar complaints, I believe this matter warrants further investigation and may justify legal action, including a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of affected owners.Read more

The primary component involved is the high-voltage charging system, specifically the charging port and connector interface. The same symptoms have since returned, including heat at the charging interface and a burning odor. The vehicle is currently located at an a

In addition, the vehicle has experienced repeated loss of power while driving, which creates a risk in traffic conditions and could impact driver control and safety. The issue has been previously confirmed by the dealership, which replaced the charging port due to thermal damage. However, upon recurrence of similar symptoms, the dealership has refused to diagnose or service the vehicle, preventing further confirmation at this time. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on multiple occasions for related issues, including the prior charging system failure. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle but has been contacted for assistance. Prior to the charging system failure, symptoms included heat at the charging connector and a burning odor. The vehicle has also exhibited electrical system irregularities and repeated loss of power while driving beginning after recall-related service in or around August 2024.Read more

I live in a suburban area of [XXX] where street lighting is sparse. At night, I depend on the rearview camera of my BMW 330i XDrive to help me park or back out of my driveway. When I shift into reverse, the view within the green pathway is acceptable, but visibility outside this area is quite poor, making it hard to clearly see or spot any objects or animals near my car, which raises safety conce

I own two BMW 330i XDrive vehicles, and their rearview cameras behave very differently at night—one delivers a clear image, while the other does not. I brought the car to the dealer and reached out to BMW Customer Service, but despite providing photo evidence and leaving the car at the dealer for two weeks, they found no problems. I asked to speak with BMW engineers about the issue, but was refused, being told that this was the extent of their troubleshooting. This problem isn’t exclusive to the 330i XDrive; other BMW models appear to have the same issue. I found similar complaints on online forums, though the only explanation offered attributes it to the car’s light exterior paint. Regardless of the car's exterior paint, I should be able to safely reverse my car while I park or while I get out of the driveway. Vehicle: 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV I am filing this safety complaint regarding a recurring electrical/software defect in my 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV affecting the backup camera display and infotainment screen. The backup camera screen repeatedly freezes and goes completely black while the vehicle is in reverse gear. This eliminates all rear visibility during backing maneuvers, posing
... a serious risk of striking pedestrians, cyclists, or objects — especially children in blind spots who cannot otherwise be seen. In addition, the infotainment screen has shut off entirely at least once while the vehicle was being driven, creating a dangerous distraction and loss of vehicle controls. I want to be clear that my dealership has acted in complete good faith and has done everything within their power to diagnose and resolve this issue. They have worked diligently on my behalf and are not the source of the problem. The failure to provide a fix lies squarely with Mitsubishi Motors North America, which has been unable or unwilling to supply an adequate repair, software update, or resolution despite being made fully aware of this ongoing safety defect. I have contacted Mitsubishi Motors North America directly on multiple occasions. They have failed to provide a satisfactory explanation, a committed timeline for a fix, or any path toward resolution. This is not a dealer-level issue — this is a manufacturer-level failure to address a known defect. This is not a convenience issue — the failure of a federally mandated backup camera system is a safety defect. Federal law (49 CFR Part 571, FMVSS 111) requires rear visibility systems to function properly at all times. I respectfully request that NHTSA open a formal investigation into this defect and determine whether a recall or technical service bulletin is warranted for the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.Read more

I own a Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 10-speed transmission. The truck has approximately 79,000 miles and has been diagnosed by a Ford dealership with CDF drum/cylinder and solenoid body failure. The quoted repair cost is over $10,000 for a remanned transmission replacement. This truck has shifted hard since approximately 30,000 miles, but I was led to believe it was normal behavior for the
... 10-speed transmission. The vehicle has been lightly used and properly maintained through Ford. It is still on its original tires and brakes, which supports that this is not a high-abuse or heavy-use vehicle. A major transmission failure at 79,000 miles under normal use is not reasonable vehicle durability. The failure involves the CDF drum/cylinder, a known failure point in the Ford 10R80 transmission. This can cause harsh shifting, delayed engagement, gear skipping, slipping, abnormal acceleration behavior, and unpredictable shifting. These conditions create a safety concern when accelerating into traffic, merging, turning across lanes, passing, or driving at highway speeds. Ford has issued technical service guidance related to the 10R80 transmission and CDF drum/cylinder failure, including diagnostic procedures for hydraulic leakage and internal repair. This confirms the issue is known and identifiable, yet owners are still facing extremely expensive failures outside the standard warranty period. Another concern is that Ford is proposing remanufactured transmission replacements rather than new replacements, despite reports of repeat CDF-related failures after remanufactured units if updated CDF components are not included. This is not normal wear and tear. This is premature failure of a known defective transmission component that affects drivability, reliability, and safety. Ford should not leave customers responsible for potentially multiple $10,000+ repair costs for a known 10R80/CDF drum failure.Read more

Cars were stacking up behind and passing, causing potential hazardous conditions. Vehicle was taken to a mechanic shop and diagnosed with misfiring, after reading OBD II with many alerts coming on. Further diagnostics revealed cylinder head gaske
... t was leaking coolant into engine, as shown by borescope images. This is a known problem on 2018-2020 Honda Accords with both 1.5T & 2.0 engines. The multiple alert messages started to come on a few weeks ago, but the engine hesitation and stalling just started this week. At first we suspected a 12V battery issue, but testing confirmed battery was at 12.8V with no issues.Read more

On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading N on RT 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda CR-V Touring Sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our
... hood. We slowly moved to the R lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. My insurance and Honda were notified and claim and case #s were filed. Insurance offered a settlement but no word yet from Honda. Inspections were performed by both. Insurance inspectors report it as potential mechanical failure. Honda should offer reparations for the loss of my vehicle and placing our lives and those around us in danger.Read more

Around Halloween 2025 my Toyota’s Transmission started slipping. I called a few places and no one except Toyota would address the issue except a local shop in [XXX] , Ridge Auto Repair who after checking out the vehicle said they can’t repair it because the parts are not available November 6th, 2025, The Shop LAG LLC was recommended to me by a family member, and they came to check out the
... Toyota, and they were convinced it was the Torque Converter and wanted $1300 to fix it. I paid them and after a few weeks they claimed it was the Transmission and wanted more money which they were paid. Weeks went by and no updates from them and they weren’t responding to my messages. When they finally responded they started saying the starter was bad, the differential, the fly wheel, etc, Again, we paid them more money, and again weeks went by without any updates. We paid a total of $9000.00 Their last attempt to fix the vehicle also failed and I’m left with a vehicle with no transmission, the entire front end taken apart and scattered all over my property and this was their last response. “Oh lord. So the original place we got the transmission from denied the warranty, but at the time it wasnt a problem we have insurance. So we summited a claim and thats why it was going to be shipped from another place. Well they kept telling me that it was coming this day then that day. I got a letter denying the claim Instead. I have tried to fight it, but they ended up dropping us after that. We are willing to install one in for free if your able to get your hands on one, because this whole ordeal has been a nightmare, but we got denied due to mileage with the claim. There was a difference in our timestamped pictures and the adress of where it went once it left. So they said it was driven on with a problem, because it was moved to there with a problem thats what they are denying my claims to fight it. I didn't want to say anything until it was final and we kne INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMARead more
