There is an excessive engine oil consumption on the 1.6L turbo charged motor. Motor oil is completely depleted between recommended oil changes. It is a necessary to add roughly 1qt of oil per 1,000 miles driven, between oil changes, in order to maintain safe oil levels. No signs of leakage, therefore oil is burning at an unsafe rate.

The issue involves the hybrid electric powertrain or electrical control system in my 2023 Hyundai Elantra Limited Hybrid. The vehicle has shut off multiple times while driving, with complete loss of power and propulsion. This poses a serious safety risk, as it happens without warning in the middle of the road. After each shutdown, the dashboard displays multiple warning lights, including the Check Engine Light, Battery Light, Oil Pressure Light, and Hybrid System Warning (orange car icon). I took a photo immediately after the most recent failure to document these warnings. The vehicle has been inspected three times by two different Hyundai dealerships. Both confirmed the vehicle is under warranty but have not repaired or diagnosed the issue, citing that they cannot replicate it. They have driven it ~200 miles without success. However, they have not pulled ECU data or freeze-frame codes, even though warning lights were active at the time of failure. There are no symptoms or warning messages before the failure — the vehicle shuts off suddenly. The car is available for inspection, and I am in the process of opening a formal case with Hyundai. This is a significant and recurring safety hazard that must be addressed. This issue has an occurred a various speeds including during acceleration and braking. Check engine light came on as well as hybrid malfunction message. While on the highway could not accel or go past 60 mph, gas pedal would then not work and speed went down, I pulled car over to breakdown lane and car abruptly stopped and would not move. ... ck cut power down and I almost caused an accident for not getting up to speed properly, additionally this could lead to the car shutting off on me, or other dangerous situations on the road, other than the long wear and tear that these bad cam phasers have on the engine. I’ve learned that this issue is known to Ford and has been happening for many years, and was addressed for other owners through Customer Satisfaction Programs like the 21N03 and its various supplements, to my knowledge the last one being held in 2022, but my truck is not covered at this time even though it’s a 2019 and has under 70,000 miles. I believe this issue should be investigated further as it is a safety risk to drivers, passengers, and all other vehicles on the road, and Ford should be held accountable, as this issue has been seen around their 3.5 Ecoboost engines and has yet to be fixed. It seems like it’s an ongoing profitable business for them to keep customers paying out of pocket for this $4,000+ job knowing that it’s an issue that many owners have, which is beyond ridiculous on their end. If it’s possible for you guys to take a look at any of their social media platforms, most of the comments on their posts, even if they have nothing to do with this engine, are complaints about not having a Recall for cam phasers on the 3.5 Ecoboost engine.
