I am writing to formally report a concerning issue with my 2022 Toyota 4Runner, which currently has approximately 22,000 miles. The vehicle is regularly serviced at a certified oil change facility, and during routine use, I noticed a puddle of oil forming in my driveway. Upon contacting the service center, I was advised to bring the vehicle in for inspection. The technician identified a crack in
... the OEM plastic oil filter housing, which was causing engine oil to leak. I was informed that this is a known issue the technician has encountered on multiple Toyota vehicles equipped with the same plastic housing. To resolve the issue, I purchased a replacement OEM aluminum oil filter housing, which the technician installed. Since the replacement, the oil leak has ceased, and there have been no further incidents. I am concerned that the original plastic oil filter housing may be defective or prone to premature failure, potentially leading to engine damage or safety hazards. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated and considered for a recall or service bulletin, as it may affect other Toyota owners.Read more

The 2018 Ford F150 is notorious for the connection for the rear defroster on the rear window to fall off. There is no real good way to repair this. We have a fleet of 2023-2025 Nissan Frontiers. Starting in December of 2024 we began having problems with the vehicles electrical system going wild and shutting the trucks down. It causes all of the lights to come on and the truck to stall and not restart, We did not realize that we had a problem until it happened to multiple vehicles over the last several months. A few of them were brought to
... the dealership where we were told they could not find any problems and just replaced the batteries. So, when some of the others did it, we just replaced the batteries ourselves. This week asked again if there was a known issue and were told Nissan only knows of a battery drain issue. These vehicles are shutting down sometimes while our people are driving them. They also try to restart themselves sometimes. They are automatically applying the breaks when this happens wile the ABS light comes on. This is an extremely dangerous situation for our fleet drivers as well as the motoring public. It has happened to 10 of the 15 Frontiers that we own.Read more

Hi. I’d like to point out I have not had an incident YET thankfully. However, I want to highlight that the early M340i production releases (2019 and 2020) are HIGHLY likely to experience catastrophic engine failure due to an oil pump being made of plastic on some models. Of the 20 or so complaints listed under this vehicle on NHTSA, I’ve already seen PLENTY of complaints regarding this issue a
... nd people actually experiencing this issue. I believe if a car has a fair chance of causing catastrophic damage to its engine on its own, it poses as a safety risk for anyone in or around the car. The fix is to spend $6000-$7000 to have the oil pump replaced with the new 2021 oil pump, but most normal people cannot afford that easily and are driving around with plastic pumps still hoping for the best. I don’t understand how so many complaints of the same safety issue on this website for this vehicle (and other vehicles, which have the same B58 engine) have not resulted in a recall. Hopefully this can change because a car destroying itself shouldn’t be taken lightly and I’d like to second what everyone else on here is saying about the oil pump issue.Read more

While traveling at night on the toll road between Washington, DC and Pittsburgh, PA, the vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. Power was lost completely, including power steering, while in motion on a major freeway, creating an immediate and severe risk of collision for us and surrounding motorists. Although the vehicle did restart, it stalled again shortly afterward while still on the toll r
... oad. The failure repeated when decelerating on the highway or coming to a stop after exiting. At no point were there warning lamps, check-engine lights, messages, or reduced-power mode indicators prior to the stalls; the shutdowns occurred without any advance notice. The vehicle was towed to an independent BMW-only repair shop in Pittsburgh. Their initial assessment indicated a high likelihood that the failure involved the VANOS assembly bolts, though the engine was not disassembled at that time, so the diagnosis could not be confirmed with certainty. Because the shop did not have immediate availability, we were asked to transport the car home until they could perform a full repair. After sitting for several weeks, the car was towed back for further inspection, at which point the shop discovered that a VANOS bolt had likely sheared off and caused irreparable damage to the engine. Our only options now are to replace the engine or scrap the vehicle. The vehicle remains in Pittsburgh, PA in our possession and is available for inspection upon request. At this time, the failure has not been reproduced or confirmed by a BMW dealer, nor has it been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Importantly, there is an existing recall on VANOS bolts for the 328xi station wagon, but our vehicle’s production date ([XXX]) falls just outside the recall window of October 1, 2009–August 4, 2011. Notably, for the sedan body model, the recall window was extended until December 6, 2011. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

In mid-November 2023, the authorized Ford dealership Hutchinson Ford of Forsyth, located in Forsyth, Georgia, sold and installed four Toyo A23 tires (size 225/55R19 99V) on my 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. After approximately 23,000 miles, the tires experienced catastrophic premature wear. Upon investigation, I discovered the dealership had installed tires with a load index of 99. The manufacturer's
... required specification for my vehicle is a minimum load index of 103. This incorrect fitment created an 880-pound deficit in the vehicle's total load-carrying capacity, posing a severe and constant risk of tire failure, especially at highway speeds. This is a critical safety issue for a heavy electric vehicle. The dealership's management has acknowledged the danger. When I raised this issue, the service manager stated they were "glad something bad did not happen." Despite this admission of the risk they created, they have refused to correct the safety issue, claiming the premature failure is normal wear as the tires are "nearing end of life." This constitutes a dangerous service practice by an authorized Ford dealer, which knowingly left a customer's vehicle in an unsafe condition. I am filing this complaint to document this safety issue and the dealership's refusal to rectify it.Read more

I brought the vehicle to Jeep on May 19, 2025. It was there for about 10 days and they found nothing - not able to reproduce and no errors logged, etc. They created a STAR Case (#1020705742) and still no solution. This is exactly recall 25V-576. The vehicle always charges now even though Jeep says they only cleared other errors. I brought the vehicle to Jeep on September 10 and they didn't see any saved errors. NO updates to STAR Case. I continue to see the Red Wrench light and warning to Service Hybrid System every week or so. But, have only lost power once. I'm afraid to drive the vehicle - always looking for a place to safely stop. How can a vehicle lose power and not log a Service Engine error! I need a FIX! Driving on the highway, heard a very loud pop, followed by a crackling noise above us. Investigated and found the sunroof had spontaneously shattered. On the drive home, the sunroof glass collapsed into the car. The initial incident was very disruptive, and we were lucky that the sun shade was closed, which blocked glass fragments from falling on us. There are no signs of impact from any obj

Photos of the glass after shattering but before collapse dont show a clear sign of an impact point. My best guess is a manufacturing flaw exacerbated by temperature changes. It was a very sunny day, and we had the shade open with cold AC blowing for 30+ minutes. The sun became a distraction, so we closed the shade. I think the heat then built up quickly between the shade and the glass, and caused the glass to shatter.Read more
