Timing chain looseness, Sudden loss of engine power/motive power. Vehicle was sold, unknown if available for inspection. Engine failure on and in the middle of the interstate/highway, and this caused a major crash risk, and safety hazard. This make and model of vehicle has multiple reports of similar incidents. The repairs would’ve cost over 3 times the value of the car. As stated by the ve
... hicle manufacturer, the entire engine would need to be replaced, with a factory built engine in order to comply with NHTSA and safety regulations. I’m no longer in possession of the vehicle. It was sold. While the vehicle was operating, and drivable there would be a chime and a flashing check engine light/indicator on occasion. We noticed rattling and misfiring sounds from the motor but no warning indications on the dash. 2 days later when my wife was coming home the car started losing power and "died". Would not restart but no warning lights on dash. The app did send a notice about loss of pressure to turbo. Had my wife not been near someplace to pull into she would have been stranded in the road in a disabled vehicle.
... Traffic was backed up behind her while she was trying to get out of the road. Had the car "died" while she was on the interstate doing 70 it would have been COMPLETELY without power steering AND brakes. The car has ONLY been serviced by our local Ford dealer. So we had it towed there. This morning they are telling us it's a problem with the "integrated exhaust manifold" that allowed water into the cylinders and ruined the engine. Believe they called that a cracked block years ago? Something that shouldn't happen to a car with only 66K miles. They assured us it wasn't the oil pump from the recall. We just paid it off a couple months ago. Now it needs a new $6,300 motor. Not something senior citizens only a year from retirement can easily swing. There NEVER was ANY indication (warning lights, etc) or warning from the dealer after service of any problems. It seems that Ford has more problems with this motor than just the oil pump!!Read more

We purchased a new 2025 Jayco Melbourne and afterwards discovered the MBZ 3500 Chassis was a 2024.(6/19/2024) A 2025 MBZ 3500 chassis has a TPMS -factory installed system; 2024 no TPMS. I started to install an aftermarket TPMS and noted the tire valve stems were rubber. I couldn’t install the end cap sensors due to safety concerns about centrifugal force causing a failure of the rubber valve st
... ems on the wheels. My next contact was MBZ customer service. They referred me to Walter’s Mercedes-Benz Van Center, 7979 Auto Drive, Riverside, Ca. 82504. I contacted Service Advisor Brennan Ruiz at 951-552-2145. After a couple of phone calls back and forth and me researching the parts through MBZ, I made an appointment on 6/11/2025 to have my 2025 Jayco retrofitted with the factory TPMS. The cost for me was approximately $3;000.00 including parts and labor. On 6/112025, Brennan took care of a warranty issue not related to this and was very helpful with the TPMS retrofit process. He did inform me that his tech would not be able to install the parts due to MBZ on the east coast refusing to release the computer code unless there was prior documentation or campaign bulletins for reference. The TPMS is standard on the 3500 MBZ Sprinter chassis, but MBZ will not release the code to their own dealership when I am willing to pay $3,000.00 for the entire retrofit process. It does not make sense to me since MBZ has the Motto on their web site: “How Mercedes-Benz Safety Features Prevent Accidents Before They Happen.” That’s what I am attempting to have completed! Resolution: First, I want this documented in case of tire failure/accident. Secondly, hopefully this will help me getting the Factory TPMS retrofit completed! I am not asking MBZ to pay anything other than releasing the computer code for the retrofit. This is for the safety of my family and all the other motorists that I encounter while driving on the highways in the US. Thank you for your help,Read more

I have now experienced multiple instances where the vehicle suddenly brakes on its own while driving at normal speeds, without any obstruction or hazard ahead. This is not only unacceptable — it's extremely dangerous, putting both myself and other drivers at risk of serious injury. Despite bringing the vehicle in twice to the dealership, the issue persists. I continue to receive dashboard malfun
... ction alerts, and the automatic braking problem has not been resolved. Each time, I am left without a vehicle, impacting my ability to work. I did not purchase a $100k+ vehicle to live in fear of sudden, unpredictable, and life-threatening malfunctions. Today, while driving, the vehicle completely shut off in motion, creating a highly dangerous situation. This follows multiple previous incidents where the car automatically braked without cause and displayed repeated malfunction notifications on the dashboard. I have brought the car to the dealership twice, and yet the problem persists. This is not only unacceptable — it's an imminent risk to my safety and the safety of others on the road. The fact that a brand-new luxury vehicle with this price tag continues to experience such serious failures is beyond frustrating — it is life-threatening.Read more

This is a brand new 2025 Ridgeline with only 900 miles. The Collision Mitigation Breaking System and the Lane Keeping Assist System does not work properly on my vehicle. The original dealer won't even acknowledge what the other service department said about the radar system. Honda is just parroting what the original dealer is saying. I have a brand new vehicle that is not safe to drive and nobody is helping me. I have captured video on a GoPro of some incidents when this occurs. These systems go off for no apparent reason. When I manually turn off the CMBS, there's a persistent warning message that appears on the infotainment screen entitled, CMBS Problem. That message says: "The Collision Mitigation Braking System has a problem. Restart your vehicle. If the indicator remains on, have your vehicle checked by a dealer." The CMBS is malfunctioning, but how do I know if the system is off when I turn it off when this message appears? The dealer where I bought the vehicle from says "this is normal", but I know that is not true because I have looked at other 2025 Ridgelines and this message does not appear.Read more

Backup camera is distorted and has purple and green colors throughout the screen. Also the information screen routinely indicates a Tuner failure, followed by popping sounds from the radio. Took vehicle to Honda dealer who advised that many 2019 Honda Pilots are coming in with same issue. However, the vehicles with the vehicles with the same first 7 charscters in the VIN were NOT included in the

In reviewing the complaints posted on this site, 2019 Honda Pilot owners have been complaining about these issues for 2-3 years without any resolution from Honda. It is clear that Honda has been aware of this issue for several years. It would be great if the NHTSA would require Honda to do the right thing by acknowledging their oversight (excluding these vehicles from the recall), and have the backup camera and tuners repaired before a serious accident/injury occurs.Read more

Dear Better Business Bureau, I am filing a formal complaint against Toyota Motor North America regarding a serious and unresolved safety defect in my 2024 Toyota Corolla LE (VIN [XXX]). The vehicle experienced two incidents of sudden unintended acceleration—the second, on [XXX], resulted in a collision. Despite my repeated efforts to resolve the issue, Toyota has failed to respond adequately or
... provide critical diagnostic data. In both incidents ([XXX] and [XXX]), while stopped at a red light, the vehicle suddenly surged forward despite my foot being on the brake. On [XXX] this caused a collision. My vehicle has remained undrivable since. Toyota conducted a diagnostic inspection on May 29 under Case #[XXX]. I’ve repeatedly requested access to the raw data from this inspection to understand the defect, but Toyota has not responded. Emails to the assigned case manager, Ms. Cynthia Ware, have gone unanswered. When I was directed to reply to a support email, it bounced back as a “do-not-reply” address, redirecting me to a login page which falsely claimed I had no active cases. This created an endless communication loop. Toyota’s lack of transparency and support is unacceptable—especially given the severity of the issue and the fact that the vehicle is still under warranty. I am requesting: Immediate release of the raw diagnostic data from the May 29 inspection A prompt resolution, including full repair, replacement, or buyback Clear, responsive communication from an authorized representative This is not only a financial burden, but a serious safety risk. I respectfully request BBB’s assistance in securing a resolution and holding Toyota accountable. Thank you for your time.Read more

(NOT RELATED TO CURRENTLY OPEN HOOD LATCH RECALL) I’m the current owner of a 2013–2018 Nissan Altima, a model range known for a headlight delamination defect. This issue causes the reflective coating inside the headlamp to degrade, severely reducing light output. It’s a major safety risk for drivers, other motorists, and pedestrians—especially at night. A class action lawsuit acknowledge
... d this and led to a limited repair program. However, I—like many others—only discovered the issue after that window had closed. As a second owner, I reached out to Nissan requesting a “goodwill repair,” which they define as a discretionary repair for issues outside normal coverage. Nissan declined. I was told by Erica on the executive team that goodwill repairs are more likely if there’s a history of maintenance at a Nissan dealership. In other words, if the previous owner spent money at a dealership, Nissan would be more willing to repair a known factory defect. This policy is unfair. Routine maintenance should have no bearing on a company’s responsibility to fix a well-documented safety defect. That logic leaves many current owners—who had no control over previous maintenance decisions—without support. Over 1.5 million affected Altimas are still on U.S. roads, many now in the hands of second or third owners. These drivers may be unaware of the issue or unable to afford repairs for something that should never have occurred in the first place. I’m asking Nissan to re-open the repair program or evaluate on a case-by case basis, considering fairness and safety. This could be offered to anyone who purchased the car after the repair window. Until then, I—and many others—are left to drive with dangerously dim headlights, putting ourselves, our passengers, and the general public at unnecessary risk. This is about more than customer service. It’s about corporate responsibility and public safety.Read more

I then drove my Kia Soul to secure a rental vehicle, but on the way my engine died in the middle of a busy intersection and I had just enough time to pull it to the bike path on the side of the road, passenger side still in the road. I then had it towed to a repair shop and paid for a second diagnostic, which aligned with the first diagnostic from Midas. I then received a recall letter from Kia Manufacturer that my specific vehicle had a safety recall from the NHSTA and to bring my car to the nearest Kia dealership for immediate repair, free of cost to me, upto engine replacement. I had my Kia Soul towed to Kia of New Port Richey, Florida and explained the recall letter. They have since done nothing in a week and said that I needed to have the first recall addressed to have this recall repair complete. Then, they said I needed to have my car registered to complete the repair. Then, they said I need to provide a maintenance record to complete this recall repair, and failure to do so will result in Kia refusing to complete my engine repair, in accordance with their recall letter I received. Therefore, I contacted the NHSTA.Read more

Was told that the tech could not verify my complaint but they replaced the steering damper under a recall. Shortly after, vehicle continued to shake over bumps and uneven pavement to the point that on 06/07/2025 on a 2 hour road
... trip the shakes became so violent that the car is undriveable. Dropped the vehicle off at the nearest location, Stevens Creek Chrysler Jeep. I have a video taken to show the severity of the issue. Now being told that the repair is not covered under warranty even though it was brought to their attention at 22,778 miles within the warranty period, and various multivehicle inspections were performed during the warranty period after this suggesting no issues. There are many known cases and various lawsuits and extension of warranty periods for this issue for model years previous. I believe my vehicle was built during that period.Read more

Crankshaft pulley and Crankshaft had a manufactured defect that caused the pulley to brake into pieces while standing at a stop intersection, multiple pieces of metal were projected towards the radiator, water pump, passenger wheel, serpentine belt, battery and other components causing considerable damage and left the vehicle inoperable. The repairs were substantial and required multiple parts to
... be replaced due to a low quality part (crankshaft and pulley) during the vehicle's assembly, among some of them were a new Crankshaft pulley, radiator and retainers, and serpentine wheel. The total cost for the damage including parts, labor and secondary services (towing) were in excess of $3,700.00 (Three thousand seven hundred dollars). The mechanics that performed the services strongly advised and encouraged that the manufacturer were contacted to arrange for refund and awareness of the defect in the parts involved. We proceeded to contact the local dealership and service in Frisco Texas and they denied relief stating that the vehicle was out of warranty, although they had full knowledge that defective parts are not within the scope of warranty but inherent risks that need to be addressed for the customers. Given the lack of relief, I proceeded to notify the NHTSA of this issue for further investigation and possible force of a recall to obtain relief of all customers that may be impacted.Read more

Drove into parking lot and as I was pulling into the parking spot next to the building, the vehicle started to surge forward as if I had my foot on the gas instead of the brake. The sudden surge caused the vehicle to plow into a brick building causing about $10K damage to the vehicle and $5K to the building. This was not the first time this sudden surging occurred. It happened at least 3 times p
... reviously, and one time since. Fortunately, the other occurrences did not lead to any damages, but just some anxious moments. I took the vehicle to the dealership to get checked out after the last occurrence, but they said they couldn't duplicate it. I thought it might be some sort of "unknown" problem, until I started reading on Facebook and other internet websites of other people having the same scary "surging" engine issues. I believe there's more to it now, and an investigation is warranted.Read more
