On multiple occasions, my 2024 Hyundai Palisade (VIN [XXX] ) has experienced a serious safety issue involving the anti-lock braking system (ABS). While traveling at low speeds (approximately 5–15 mph) over bumps or uneven surfaces, the ABS has unexpectedly activated, preventing the vehicle from slowing or stopping when the brakes are pressed. In each case, the vehicle continued to move for an a
... dditional 10–16 feet before the brakes finally engaged. This issue has occurred repeatedly, including on: [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Each incident created an extremely dangerous situation. I narrowly avoided a collision by swerving to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me. Fortunately, no pedestrians or oncoming vehicles were in the immediate area—otherwise, the outcome could have been catastrophic. I reported the issue to Koeppel Hyundai in Long Island City, NY, on July 14, 2025, and brought the vehicle in for inspection that day. A technician acknowledged that other Palisade owners had reported similar incidents. Their only recommendation was to disable the "Auto Hold" feature, suggesting it might be contributing to the problem. I followed this guidance, but the issue reoccurred on [XXX] despite Auto Hold being turned off. This is a critical safety concern that requires immediate attention and a definitive repair—not just a workaround. Until Hyundai identifies and resolves the underlying issue, this defect puts drivers, passengers, and pedestrians at significant risk. Please advise on the next steps for a full investigation and proper resolution. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I bought the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe yesterday evening. Upon leaving the dealership I promptly broke for a car in front of me. Immediately the vehicle turned off completely. I put the vehicle in the park and attempted to start the vehicle back up. The vehicle would not start up and begin leaking a prominent scent. Following this, white smoke with the same pungent smell was coming from the engine. I
... propped the hood and saw the smoke continue to release. I then motioned away from the vehicle and called for a tow truck. The car is now being inspected by the dealership I purchased it from the same day. I believe this is related to the NHTSA recall on 2010-2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, recall date 09/22/2023, recall number 21V303000, and Hyundai Safety Recall 251s Anti-Lock Braking System Fuse Replace. This issue is not listed under my vehicle VIN number but it’s apparent to be the case and issue and is being inspected further by the dealership.Read more

The component that failed is the left front driver side headlight of the vehicle, resulting in low visibility and inability to see or drive the vehicle in it's current condition at night. The only "warning" that could potentially have been a "warning", was the blinker began rapidly blinking the day before the headlight stopped functioning; the blinker no longer worked in the headlight but still w

It is my knowledge that Ford has a lifetime guarantee on the headlights for this make, model, and year of vehicle. Was driving at night on a rural highway. Experienced a complete electrical failure - all lights, engine function, power steering and power brakes failed; coasted to the side of the road. ~~I thought that I had just run out of gas, but adding gas did not permit the car to restart. Tow truck could not jump start the vehicle. It was towed to the dealership, where they replaced the regular battery (
... <20k miles on it), performed the hybrid battery software upgrade (the "recall"), sent me home. Towing and rental coverage were not offered. ~~BTW, I had requested this recall about 3 months previously, but it was "not available" yet. ~~The vehicle continued to stutter intermittently, concomitantly flashing the "service hybrid battery light." I took it back to the dealership. They ran tests, inspected it for unwarranted damage, cleared out the codes, and sent it home. ~~Another 2 months of the same incidents, sometimes with a "refuse to start in the morning" altogether aggravation. I grew increasingly concerned for my safety and the safety of others on the highway. Obviously, this problem wasn't going to go away with just ignoring it and hoping for the best. ~~I contacted the dealership to bring it in for service again; they refused to even entertain the idea of providing me with a rental until they could fix it, even knowing that it's clearly a warranty issue. I took it to a different Jeep dealership, somewhat distant from my home but actually the dealership from which I had purchased it online. They were so kind, got me into a rental and promised to look into it. They got in contact with the manufacturer quickly. Jeep engineering department admitted they can't fix it. 6 weeks later, they still haven't fixed it, I'm paying almost $3000/m for pmt& insurance for a car that's unsafe to drive, but the corporation hasn't offered me any options to get out of a lease.Read more

2015 Ford F350 6.7 liter Diesel Turbocharger with only 58,000 miles malfunctioned while accelerating on to freeway without any prior warning indicators or symptoms. Immediately engine acceleration was reduced drastically causing freeway cars to nearly rear end my vehicle and other cars swerving to avoid accident. A message showed up simultaneously while reduced acceleration occured on vehicle’s
... dash display indicating something to the effect “Reducing Acceleration” and a yellow check engine icon lit up on dash display. I limped the vehicle to the side of Freeway and shut engine off. Upon restarting engine discovered engine and turbo operated properly and was able to drive vehicle to a non-Ford Service Center to be repaired. The Technician could not find anything wrong with the operation of the engine-turbocharger and cleared the trouble code. Drove vehical for approximately 500 miles and the same reduced acceleration problem re-occurred while accelerating on to freeway. Pulled vehicle over to safe area, shut engine off, re-started engine, engine and turbocharger operated properly, drove home and then to Ford Dealership (check engine icon still lit). Discovered vehicle can not be smog tested with this intermittent problem due to check engine icon. My safety, my passengers safety, and others safety while driving on the freeway were put at high risk. The reduced acceleration problem does reoccur. Ford diagnosed the vehicle problem to be a bad turbo with an estimate of $5,100 dollars for removal and replace with new Ford Turbocharger which only has a two year warranty. The repair work is currently in process. I consider this turbocharger to be pre-mature failure and a safety risk! This turbocharger intermittent failure in my opinion should be a mandatory recall and paid 100% by Ford.Read more

Replacement of the ECM or Engine Control Module. Burns a quart of oil at the price of $11.00 per quart every 3,000 miles, that’s an engine problem. Right front axle broke and had to be replaced. After replacement of the right front axle, the right front axle seal, which is the axle replaced started to leak and I was charged to replace the axle seal due to a mechanics incompetence. I received a card from Subaru stating a windshield issue. Received another card regarding a fuel pump issue. A letter received this past week from an apparent CVT or continuously variable transmission issue. Now my radio stations jump around arbitrarily changing stations, tracks on my CD, and my hatch doesn’t open, but gets stuck shortly upon opening. This car is a lemon, a piece of junk and very unsafe. I am writing to formally report a serious issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. The touchscreen consistently exhibits “phantom touch” behavior — screens change on their own, controls do not respond properly, and essential features like navigation and audio become difficult or impossible to use. This issue has persisted since at least July 2025 and creates a significant
... distraction while driving, compromising safety. I have not yet taken the vehicle to a Honda dealership because I was informed there would be a $190 diagnostic fee just to assess the issue. Before proceeding, I conducted extensive research and discovered that this is a well-documented and widespread defect affecting many 2021–2022 Honda Accord models. Numerous owners have reported identical issues online and through NHTSA complaints. From what I’ve found, even when the screen is replaced, the problem often recurs — and Honda has reportedly advised some customers that no effective fix is available at this time. As a customer, I find this deeply concerning. This is clearly a known issue, yet no formal recall or technical service bulletin appears to have been issued. More importantly, it directly affects driver safety — particularly when it impairs the ability to use built-in navigation, manage phone calls, or adjust vehicle settings without distractionRead more

The vehicle's engine is experiencing coolant intrusion. As such, when starting the car, white and sweet-smelling exhaust exits the exhaust pipe. Furthermore, the coolant reservoir continually runs low; however, we find no coolant on the driveway or apparently leaking from the car. That supports the mechanics assessment of a coolant intrusion. This issue, if left unaddressed, will cause the engine
... to run improperly, the spark plugs to become fouled, the engine to overheat, etc. I took the vehicle to a local certified mechanic. Although after looking at Ford's service bulletin, it became apparent that the vehicle is experiencing a similar issue to other 2017 models that were included in the recall. The mechanic listened to what we said and pulled up supporting documentation in the form of a Technical Service Bulletin. The check engine light just came up, within the past couple of days, well after the coolant intrusion was started. The disrepair seems to be a matter of timing. In April 2025, the engine on our 2024 Volvo XC60 B5 Plus AWD failed suddenly with only 7,000 miles on the vehicle. The vehicle is leased and under full factory warranty. Volvo’s dealership confirmed the engine requires a full OEM replacement. However, our insurer, State Farm, is refusing to authorize a new OEM engine and is instead forcing the installation of a salvaged engine from a wrecked veh
... icle. This creates significant safety risks: • The salvaged engine’s crash history and internal integrity are unknown and cannot be verified. • It bypasses Volvo’s safety testing and voids the factory warranty, removing manufacturer oversight for future issues. • The use of non-OEM parts violates the lease and risks improper compatibility or undetected damage, affecting vehicle safety and reliability. The original dealership admitted they never performed a full internal inspection of the failed engine, relying only on spark plug checks and a borescope scan. State Farm denied coverage for a $1,299 tear-down at another Volvo dealer that would have confirmed the root cause. Instead, State Farm arranged a “second opinion” at the same original dealership without notifying us and presented this repeat review as independent confirmation. We have now been without a safe, functioning vehicle for over 80 days. State Farm’s insistence on using salvaged parts instead of OEM components not only violates our lease terms but undermines manufacturer safety standards and exposes us, and potentially other consumers, to heightened safety risks if this practice is systemic. No warning lamps appeared prior to the engine failure. This refusal to restore the vehicle to OEM condition represents a serious safety concern that should be reviewed.Read more

I had not yet heard back from Toyota about coverage or resolution. I chose to wait for further communication regarding whether they would take responsibility for the malfunction. Toyota Corporate Follow-Up Call – July 23, 2025 On Tuesday, July 23, 2025, Toyota corporate called to inform me that the repair would not be covered, citing that the vehicle is out of warranty. What disturbed me most was that the representative claimed I had told Rebecca that I might have “bumped the gear,” which is completely false. I made it clear from the beginning that I never touched the gear shifter, and that the malfunction occurred while I was driving normally. Do Not Shift or Turn Engine Off”. Such an unforeseen event, without brake l
... ight illumination, resulted in several following vehicles to take evasive actions, thus preventing a potential mass casualty accident. I was able steer towards the right shoulder at the greatly reduced speed of 35mph, collect myself, check on my upset son and try to make sense of what had happened. At this point panic began to set in. I called my Father & he was able to provide the next step being to deliver the vehicle to the local Dodge dealership. Those few miles were miserable since the dash was still presenting dismal warnings, there was reduced power and the vehicle acted like it was in a very low gear. The dealership was closed, so the vehicle was parked on lot however, once the engine was turned off the battery power remained on. Unable to lock, turn off or change any electrical device. We returned the following day and spoke to the service advisor who stated, “the vehicle had entered the Limp Mode” Addition research states it is a safety feature that activates when a critical issue is detected by a computer. Well, I guess the engineers never thought about such a radical transformation at highway speeds….without brake lights! Such a device should never allow an automobile to suddenly and without notice, startle the driver with annunciations while simultaneously downshifting and reducing engine rpm.Read more
