The car began slowing but instead of coming to a full stop, the brake resisted, the car made an odd sound, and instead the car accelerated into the car in front of us. As I was coming down thew mounts (44 miles of 7-9% grade) as I slightly hit the brakes the truck shook so badly is was vibrating me off the road. Upon inspection, the dealer recommended engine replacement. Hyundai denied engine replacement under Recall 203, on the grounds that the recall was "closed" during an inspection in 2021 (prior to my ownership) despite the defective part not being replaced. This engine, with defective and recalled part, has now experienced sudden and unexpected failure. Hyundai has been uncooperative and I have been without a vehicle for nearly a month.Read more

I took the vehicle to the service station because it takes a long time to stop, and I braked close to a vehicle on several occasions. They replaced the brake pads, and when I took the baby in, it was worse. At the same time, the steering and brakes became noticeably stiffer, suggesting that the engine had shut down. The driver navigated across high-speed traffic, nearly avoiding being rear-ended by other vehicles, and was able to bring the vehicle to a stop on the shoulder. Multiple attempts to restart the vehicle were unsuccessful. The incident posed a serious safety risk due to the loss of engine power and driving assist features in active interstate traffic. After the incident, the vehicle was towed to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet (3127 W Tennessee St, Tallahassee, FL 32304), where it is scheduled for inspection on or after Monday, September 30, 2025. Had to have my 2024 Toyota RAV 4 towed for a second time in 2 month after driving in heavy rain. During the first instance, I drove less than 10 miles on the highway in very heavy rain. ... ound "no issues" with the car. Again on September 23, 2025, I drove through a heavy rain storm, arrived a my destination and again the engine/RPM were pulsating/revving. An hour later when I went to leave (in no rain), started the vehicle and the engine began to sputter, all warning lights on the dash board went on including in part "Parking Support Brake Malfunction Visit Your Dealer", "Pre-Collision System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" and "Engine Stopped Steering Power Low", and the engine sputtered and shut off. Had the vehicle towed to another dealership where it has been for 5 days with the technician telling me he cannot replicate the issue. This is a serious problem for a new vehicle with 17k miles. Not only is this is a safety risk due to vehicle failure/shut down, it is a serious defect in a product that I paid $40,000 for. Please do all that can be done to force Toyota to fix this issue, as it appears based on review of similar complaints on this website that this is happening quite a lot. Separately, it is more than concerning that total engine failure does not generate codes sufficient for Toyota technicians to diagnose such a fatal problem.Read more

After 3 or 4 such driving cycles all the systems come back on. The dealer detected error code P2C90 (P2C9000) which refers to the positive crankcase ventilation system. The ventilation system was inspected and nothing was found to require repair. When driving the Jeep Cherokee (51,000 miles), I experienced numerous incidents where the car experienced sudden power loss climbing a grade followed almost immediately by numerous warning lights and a message that "4WD System Unavailable" as well as a message that the forward warning system had failed. ... wer gear at 4000+ rpm. Prior to each incident, the car had been driving smoothly at 70 mph at approx 2200 rpm. Both the Jeep dealer and the local repair obtained the same error code (DTC C14A7-97 PTU Motor Component) indicating internal failure of the PTU (transfer case). When the repair shop removed the transfer case they found metal shavings in the PTU lubricant. With no PTUs available from the Jeep dealership for months it was necessary to purchase a salvaged PTU at near-new pricing. I note that there is a similar recall but it does not cover my vehicle. I also note there are numerous NHTSA complaints for identical problems being filed nearly daily for 2017-2021 Jeeps. This defect is a serious safety issue that can result in complete driveline failure or an inability to maintain speed with traffic. It also results in approx $5000-7000 in repair costs for each PTU replacement.Read more

Vehicle went in for check engine light, no issues with how the car runs, low coolant. Vehicle was pressure tested and we were told there was a crack in the cylinder and that the engine would need to be completely replaced. This will cost upwards of 10k. Per my research this is a known ticket and huge defect that Ford knows about. We asked if we could get e engine replaced under the goodwill repair

On August 20th, 2025 at 2:50pm, my eight-month-old infant was trapped inside my Tesla Model Y for approximately 30 minutes due to a critical systems failure. The vehicle experienced an error with the 12V battery that rendered the doors, windows, and trunk completely inoperable, preventing any means of access or escape. ... an indoor temperature exceeding 104 degrees fahrenheit. Despite all attempts to override the system, the car remained locked, and the battery dead, and emergency services had to be contacted. Officers from the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, and Montecito Fire Department arrived on scene and, in order to rescue my baby, were forced to smash a window to gain entry. The police officer was advised by a Tesla representative to do so, as he confirmed there would be no way to override the system to open the doors. My baby was found screaming in a pool full of sweat and was carried to an ambulance, where the paramedic warned me of concerning vital signs and advised me to go to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital to have his condition assessed and treated, if necessary. I have obtained a copy of the police report (Case No. XXX) and will provide it upon request. Tesla confirmed that this problem with the 12V battery is common, nonetheless we were made to pay for a new window and a battery replacement. There were no warning signs leading up to the shutdown and not notifying us of this system failure and the risk involved is complete negligence on behalf of Tesla.Read more
