In May of 2025, all the lights on my dash lit up and I began getting notifications about my systems not being available. I took my car to my local Honda dealership and was told that there was an issue with the clips on my turbocharger and they would have to be replaced. I laid $309 + $120 diagnostic to have that tested and fixed. I drove the car for exact two weeks, and the same issue occurred, I

I took my car to Honda on 06/09/2025, and they had it for roughly 90 days. In September, I was told that I had a cracked head gasket and my turbocharger was bad. I was quoted $7640.35 to fix this issue. I then began to do research and noticed there was a Facebook group called 2018-2022 Honda Accord - blown head gasket, where many people were having the same issue with their car. Ultimately, it cost $7100 to get my vehicle fixed. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that so many people, living completely different lives, are having the same issue with their 2018-2022 Honda vehicle. This needs to be investigated.Read more

To preface: All of these issues only occur when the engine idle feature is on. I have not experienced any of these problems when the feature is off. Question #1: When I release the brake with the engine idle on, the vehicle will sometimes completely shut off. Cars were passing by at over 50 mph, and we were relying on other drivers to notice us in time. This situation has happened multiple times and poses a serious safety risk to both us and others on the road. Question #3: I have not taken the vehicle in for service because the issue is difficult to reproduce consistently. That uncertainty is part of the problem, along with the anxiety of not knowing whether the car will suddenly shut off. Question #4: For the same reason, I have not been able to demonstrate the problem on demand. However, the main concern is that I should not have to worry about my vehicle stalling when I go to accelerate. Question #5: The vehicle has completely shut off four separate times over the past year. On one occasion, after releasing the brake, the engine struggled to reach normal RPMs and the check engine light came on. I pulled over, turned the vehicle off, restarted it, and it seemed fine afterward, although it had noticeably less power while the check engine light was on. Lastly, there have been several instances where the engine did not completely shut off when the idle feature was on, but when I released the brake to accelerate, I heard a clicking sound and the vehicle seemed as though it was about to stall. During this time the power steering fluid was leaking under my steering wheel and ruined my carpet. The dealership has yet to acknowledge that problem. I still have to put power steering fluid in the truck every week and my interior is ruined. The tailgate is still opening on its own. I had to start charging my batteries up every morning because they were dead. I got up one morning and the batteries were dead and the truck wouldn’t start. I had to buy a new $300 key. Took it back to the dealership for an appointment. The truck sat there for a week and I called for an update and they didn’t even remember the truck was there. It still sat there 4 days after that. They told me the truck needs new batteries and it wasn’t under warranty. I spent $1000 on 2 batteries. Tailgate is still going down. The lights are still going on and off. And then the lights and the locks will go on and off while the truck is parked and turned off. And now the new batteries are becoming weak and I am having to get the truck jumped off several times. I have had the truck at the dealership 6 times and they still haven’t fixed anything. When they have my truck I am losing money because I am a business owner and I use my truck for work. Have been denied replacement of 2013 Kia Engine due to insufficient records. The KSDS had been installed May 7, 2021. Was told because I did my own maintenance and I have receipts and dates when the maintenance was done reason for being denied. I used 5W 20 full synthetic motor oil which was over and above what the car called for and a new oil filter every time which shows on my receipts. Obvious
... by looking at the vehicle that it was in good shape and maintained well for being a 2013. When I presented this to Kia, they said that they have in writing that you can’t do this. All it says is that they recommend service being done by a Kia dealer . this is when I found out about the Magnus and Moss warranty act of 1975. I kept a log of service done in my car from 5, 16 2019 until present. The car just stopped in the middle of the city street. It gave no warning sensor did not work. It did not slow the car down.. my wife called AAA and had it towed to the closest dealer . Again, I have receipts of all my purchases of oil and oil filters from 2019. I appealed the decision with Kia in which they came back and gave me the decision they weren’t going to replace it. We have been without a car for close to a month. I don’t know where to turn. I will continue to work on this as much as I can do what I think is right. I will also contact a Better Business Bureau . I know of people that had zero maintenance records and not the KSDS and had their car repaired. Talking with the mechanics they said at first they were fixing everything now they’re trying not to fix everything we bought the car in 2018 with 70,000 miles right now. The car has 103,600 miles. I was driving and the van suddenly lost all propulsion. Brakes and steering and dash lights functioned, but there was a red turtle icon and error message about a system failure. The accelerator pedal did nothing at all. I was able to coast off the side of the road to a place to pull over, but that could have been a terrible accident if I lost power like that on I-95 or any other major highway.
... My husband came and we switch cars (kids, car seats, etc) and he was able to get the van to start after half an hour. It had check engine lights on for things, but the dealer said to bring it in because it was drivable again. Despite brining it in as told, with check engine lights on that they saw, they said they could not reproduce it and couldn't find codes for the check engine light (even though I pulled them from my own OBD2 diagnostic plug tool and took photos of the codes) and eventually said I have to take the car back, despite no cause or resolution. These cars have known faulty battery issues and a large number have been replaced already, but Chrysler isn't authorizing dealers to do that unless they can reliably reproduce the failure. Very frustrating to see Chrysler not go the route of other manufacturers who sourced their batteries from the same plant and ended up proactively replacing them for consumers. While Chrysler's many recalls for the hybrid battery system software have probably made it detect faults earlier to try to prevent fires, they are still known to happen, but now in addition to a fire risk, we also have a car that has a much higher chance of just losing power while driving due to over sensitive battery monitoring, or a plain old faulty battery that just isn't faulty 'enough' for Chrysler to authorize a replacement. They ran diagnostics and confirmed the issue originates from the speaker/radio system, but no replacement or repair has been offered at this time. The bolt that holds the front lateral link portion the the lower control arm to the subframe fell out while driving. I lost the ability to steer the car and had to stop immediately and have the car towed. In searching the internet this is a know issue by Tesla but has not been recalled.

My 2016 Chevy Malibu Limited is experiencing Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) failure symptoms that match Recall 39440, even though my VIN is not listed in the recall. The vehicle becomes more difficult to control in adverse conditions without ABS/ESC. I transport my special-needs child in this vehicle, and I am deeply concerned for our safety. Why I believe recall expansion is needed: GM has acknowledged this exact defect in Recall 39440 (affecting other 2016 Malibus built during specific production dates). Electrical issues since 44K miles I’m at 50 K miles. I’ve complained multiple times and they kept saying electrician wasn’t available. Then they lie about it being a waitlist for a loaner car. To start, have requested the vehicle paperwork many times and the dealership has failed to give me a copy. The real problem started when i took my EV to get checked as the battery was not lasting long, they said it was normal, took it again as it stopped charging on type 1 and 2 chargers, they now said it was the Onboard charging module. Also had to take the vehicle for a recall a few months ago
... as it had faulty door locking sensors. I feel unsafe to drive the car as a new problem appears every couple of months and VW is not reliable, my vehicle only has 7000miles in over a year and i have taken it to the dealership 3 times for safety issuesRead more
