If I do not do this, the low oil warning light illuminates on the dashboard, serving as a continuous alert of the problem. This failure was officially confirmed by an authorized Hyundai dealership. About two weeks ago, they first documented that there were no external leaks on the vehicle. When I returned because the oil had been consumed again, they performed a new diagnostic, for which I paid over $300, that confirmed the engine is burning oil internally. The dealership, acting as the manufacturer's representative, is the only entity that has formally inspected the vehicle. The situation places my safety and the safety of others at serious risk. First, the oil consumption can lead to a sudden and catastrophic engine failure, resulting in a loss of power and control of the vehicle while in transit. More alarmingly, the guidance I received from Hyundai staff was to simply "wait for the engine to stop working or start making a lot of noise." I am reporting a recurring and unresolved hybrid system failure in my 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited that poses an ongoing safety risk to me and my family. The issue involves a "Hybrid System Warning – Safely Stop and Do Not Drive" message that appears randomly while driving, causing the vehicle to jerking and creating dangerous conditions on the road. ... 2024 and has persisted through October 2025 despite repeated service visits and costly out-of-pocket repairs. The hybrid battery was eventually replaced after 8+ months of delays, but the exact same warning and jerking symptoms returned in March 2025 and have never been properly resolved. The dealership (Crown Hyundai in St. Petersburg, FL) and Hyundai corporate case management have been unable to replicate or diagnose the problem consistently, and continue returning the vehicle to me in unsafe condition. On October 3, 2025, the same warning reappeared and the vehicle was dropped off again for yet another service attempt. Again on October 7, 2025, I was told to pick up my car, they could not replicate the issue and could not find a code to respond to. To date, I’ve paid $1,748.65 for a repair (air flappers) that did not solve the issue, and spent months without use of the vehicle, continuing to pay for insurance during that time. I believe this is a defective hybrid propulsion system that meets the threshold for investigation and possibly a recall, given the repeat safety risk and lack of resolution. While closing the front door to the vehicle the back window shattered. Cause is from thermal shock or improper installation of the rear window heating element. I tried to reach out to Billingsley Hyundai of Lawton and they simple stated that they are not able to do window repairs and that it would not be covered under warranty. They didn't even offer to look at the vehicle to diagnose the issue.
... I have an appointment with Safelife to replace the window. No symptoms were shown prior. We only use the buttons on the rear hatch to open and close it. No manual operation to open and close the rear hatch have been done since owning the vehicle. Safety wise it is a good thing none of our dogs were in the vehicle at the time or the shards of glass would have sprayed onto them. The glass also flew out the back around 2 feet that could have harmed anyone if they were around the vehicle.Read more

On October 1st, 2025, I was in a car accident. I was side-swiped on the highway by a truck, which led me to collide with a metal fence. My airbags did not deploy after the collision. After filing a claim with my insurance company on October 1st, I was informed the same day that my vehicle is a total loss. Prior to the accident, there were no warning lamps or messages.

While driving, I heard a loud clicking noise from the front driver side wheel, followed by resistance and dragging of something under the vehicle. I did my best to pull over safely, but I could no longer steer the car. The control arm complete broke off of the wheel, and was now almost resting on the street while the tire/wheel was lodged into the wheel well bent sideways.
