Clicking/ticking noise coming from the top of the B-pillar (driver’s side). consistent ticking or clicking sound that sounds like it’s coming from behind the trim near the seatbelt anchor or roofline area. It’s not just a little vibration — it’s a loud tick or click; not a vibration sound. it seems like it might be inside the B-pillar or at the headliner edge where it meets the pillar

While driving to dinner in Bluefield< West Virginia on Saturday evening, I came to an intersection where I was making a left hand turn with a green arrow on the light. As I approached the intersection, I slowed to something under 10 miles an hour and proceeded to initiate a left hand turn. As I rolled onto the throttle, there was no response from the engine for approximately 15 seconds. The eng
... ine remained at idle as I coasted through the turn. I continued applying throttle with no response until I reached approximately 50% of throttle pedal travel, at which time the engine sputtered then accelerated rapidly. This is not the first instance of this issue. It has happened on at least 4 different occasions in the past. The issue is intermittent and could easily result in an accident if it occurs while pulling out into traffic - which is what happened the first time it happened to me with the oncoming traffic being forced to take evasive action.Read more

UNKNOWN. I have NOT had an incident. I own a 2024 Toyota Sequoia SUV that uses the same engine as the hundreds of thousands of Tundra trucks that Toyota has already recalled. They've recalled over 250,000 Tundras because they say "machining debris" may cause a problem that eventually destroys the engine's main bearing, resulting in loss of power. [XXX] My problem is, they are NOT recalling the
... hybrid models that use this exact same engine, to include both Tundras and Sequoias. It seems they do this because the hybrid model still MAY be able to safely exit the road if failure happens because the hybrid battery and motors can still move it. As an owner of a Sequoia, I am concerned that this problem may occur out of warranty, and that I will be stuck with an engine possessing a known defect. At a minimum, Toyota should extend the warranties on these vehicles to cover that known defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Both front struts of the vehicle have failed and are leaking. There is only 36,000 miles on this vehicle when they should last 200,000 miles per Toyota's service department. Toyota refuses to acknowledge this is their problem and that it's a "wear and tear' part. However clearly these parts should not fail after so little usage.

Incident date: Apr 27, 2026
When accelerating, started hearing a whining noise. Took to mechanic, said it was the transmission. Called Toyota and they had us bring it in for diagnostics. Also said we needed a new transmission. Quoted at over 13K - could fail at any time. This should not be happening in a 2019 vehicle and seems to be a known issue that Toyota is not doing anything to address.

I apologize if this does not meet the NHTSA bar of a safety hazard. It does reduce the ability for hands free navigation and acts as a distraction for drivers. Toyota Rav4s have very poor GPS tracking which makes the directions in the integrated head unit and guage cluster very distracting because they are consistently incorrect. There are dozens, maybe 100+, reports online of people having sim
... ilar issues. Toyota dealership has looked at it many times, escalated for troubleshooting, and as of today they say there is no fix. I have many videos to demonstrate the issue is not a fluke. There are no warning signs and the GPS will just start giving poor directions. The "danger" is in the fact that the only workaround now is to engage with a phone or other device while driving. In theory a human can rise above this and be smarter than the car but isn't that true of many safety components like non-functioning wipers(drive slow) or blind spot protectiong(check your mirror). The car is giving bad directions that the user is relying on as a navigational aid.Read more

The multimedia screen which shows the map and direction guidance became to blank occasionally, just white grey since February 2026. I immediately lost the direction. It could be back by restarting the engine at the beginning. The problem got worse, happened more often, some times the screen couldn't be back by restarting engine, but I found that it could be reset by pressing the volume button for
... long time. I reported to Toyota local dealer - Hendrick Toyota Apex and Toyota Brand Engagement center, the case manager is Freddy. The local dealer run diagnosis twice, couldn't detect any problem. On May 11, the screen totally died, black, no any light. Restarting engine or pressing the volume Botton couldn't get the screen back any more. the audio system is still working, I tried to use the map on my iPhone, the direction map couldn't be showed, only the text direction shows. Because the system let map show on screen, it assumes that the map shows one screen but it is not. I lost car screen and the phone direction at the same time. Plus the backup camera doesn't show on the screen. Therefore, it is underivable in any unfamiliar area, and dangerous to drive in neighborhoods. I reported to local dealer and Toyota Brand Engagement center with videos. May 18, the local dealer run diagnosis again, found nothing wrong. But before I leave, the screen became blank. This morning it happened again. The problem is not fixed. Freddy told me he suggested to local dealer to replace the screen, I am waiting Hendrick Toyota Apex call me for the appointment. I can't upload videos. If you want to see the videos, please tell me where and how to upload the videos. While driving the vehicle on a public roadway at approximately 70mph, the vehicle suffered a sudden and catastrophic powertrain failure without timely warning. The vehicle failed to restart and left me stranded on a narrow shoulder which was very hazardous as traffic coming at high speeds could have easily rear ended me. The vehicle required a flatbed tow to an authorized Toyota dealership, and after submitting a case with corporate hoping for a trade assist(as my wife no longer feels safe in this chassis), I have been told it will take up to 45 days to process this request. I made a significant investment in this vehicle in January of 2023 and have since methodically kept up with maintenance, with hopes this vehicle would last me 10+ years. I find it highly inexcusable for Toyota to not consider speedily helping a loyal customer in this situation and making it right in a timely manner. I am now being offered a vehicle the same as mine of the current year and with me having to put over 22K in equity to close the gap. I should not be left on the hook for something that put my safety at risk and now has left me without the ability to travel as my family has lost their main method of transportation. Manufacturing defects should not come at the customers expense.Read more

As I was about to stop, the brake pedal suddenly went all the way to the floor, the car jerked to a stop, and the electronic/emergency parking brake applied on its own. I put the car into Park and then back into Drive, and the problem did not happen again during that drive. There were no warning lights, dash lights, or warning messages before this happened, and there were also no warning lights or dash lights afterward. The issue happened suddenly with no prior symptoms that I noticed. I believe the brake system, Brake Hold system, electronic parking brake system, or a related brake/vehicle control system malfunctioned. This put my safety and the safety of others at risk because the car unexpectedly stopped abruptly in interstate traffic. Since I was in heavy stop-and-go traffic and other vehicles, there was a risk of being rear-ended, causing a crash, or becoming disabled in traffic. I took the vehicle to a Toyota dealership after the incident. They were not able to reproduce the problem, but they did find stored code C14FE14. They told me they checked the brake system, cleared the code, tested the steering angle sensor connector, and said everything tested within specification. They also performed a multipoint inspection and said the battery, brake pads, and other inspected items tested well.
