COMPLAINT 1 — Iowa Failure ([XXX]) Vehicle: 2026 Tiffin Wayfarer XPW VIN: [XXX] Date of Incident: [XXX] Location: Near [XXX] Mileage: Approximately 10,000–11,000 miles Narrative: While traveling at highway speed on [XXX] near Grinnell, Iowa, the rear wheel and hub assembly of my 2026 Tiffin Wayfarer XPW catastrophically failed. The rear wheels dislodged from the vehicle, disabling it on the
... highway. The vehicle had approximately 10,000–11,000 miles at the time of failure and was purchased new on [XXX] Emergency roadside repair was required. The vehicle is built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis and is equipped with Alcoa aluminum wheels. There is concern that improper lug hardware, wheel specifications, torque procedures, or re-torque practices may have contributed to the wheel loosening and separation. Repair was performed by Hewitt's Service Center in Iowa. Total repair cost was $5,783.17, including hub, flange, wheel, bearings, seals, tires, and towing. This failure occurred at highway speed on a nearly new vehicle and represents a serious and potentially life-threatening safety defect. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this failure pattern exists in other 2026 Tiffin Wayfarer or similar Mercedes-Benz chassis RVs. I bought my Tiffin Open Trail in Nov. 2025. The vehicle pitched, rolled and swayed so badly it could be hard to control going over a speed bump. I decided to upgrade the suspension. I went to Owl Vans in Austin, Texas on March 9, 2026. I stayed a hotel while the work was performed. I received a phone call from Owl the night of March 9th, because they found the inside dually tire had been rubbing o

Owl provided me with a new tire and informed me that they were upfitting many (25) Open Trails by Tiffin and they had found the vehicle too heavy for the stock Mercedes 3500XD suspension. They informed Tiffin of their concerns. Because I upgraded the suspension significantly it resolved my issue. HOWEVER, I contacted friends who had recently purchased an Open Trail with stock suspension and shared my findings and concern. They had their Open Trail inspected and ALSO found the leaf springs flat and the rear tire rubbing with imminent failure expected. I spent $12k making my vehicle SAFE. If the tire would have blown at 70 mph, losing control of a 12k pound vehicle would have been catastrophic, not only me but anyone else near me. I travel extensively in my Open Trai and so do others.Read more

On April 20, 2026 we discovered our 2025 Tiffin Wayfarer was experiencing a thermal runaway of the house battery charging system. The coach was in storage at a public RV storage facility. Our unit is a single enclosed unit with a roll up door. When we opened the bay door, we could tell the entire storage bay and coach were severely filled with toxic H2S gas. After the bay had been allowed to ve

He said this was a known issue and they were working on trying to determine the cause.. Keith called me the on April 26, 2026, and told me that he had determined the cause was Tiffin had been incorrectly wiring the house batteries, specifically they had been been attaching the ground wire to the wrong battery.Read more

I have a 2018 Mercedes Benz c63 amg which I purchased new in 2018. I have only 61,230 miles yesterday 11/10/2025 it started making a loud noise coming from the right rear. I drove to the Mercedes dealership in Belmont,Ca the technician mechanic told me that the rear differential was bad and need to be replace. Cost $7,000. I don't understand only 61,230 miles why did it go out so soon I always had
... the maintenance done. My warranty has expired. I did some research and found that there was a recall for 2018 Mercedes Benz c63 amg related to the rear differential. The recall was issued due to potential issues with the rear differential that could lead to a loss power to the rear wheels, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners were advised to contact their local dealerships for repairs or replacements as necessary.Read more

The RV currently is sitting at MB of Modesto where it can be inspected. The issue, when we attempted to rotate the rotatable front passenger seat, and an Airbag error was displayed on the dash and the vehicle was disabled, would not start. When we rotated the seat back we assumed it took pressure off of the wiring harness and the error disappeared and the vehicle started. We tried to rotate the
... seat back to its secure position but wires had become tangled under the seat and we could not secure the seat. We wanted to drive the RV to MB of Modesto but were concerned the airbag might deploy and disable the RV while we were driving. We decided to have the RV towed to Mercedes of Modesto. We discovered there were three separate recalls on this issue, MB Mfg #VS3DREHSIK, NHTSA Mfg. recall # 20V-322 and CA Bureau of Auto Repair # 20250701. Mercedes states that the recalls do not cover our specific chaise but the problem is exactly as described on the NHTSA recall. MB of Modesto inspected the RV and generated a Repair Order (RO) which is attached along with the NHTSA recall. The RO seems to imply that when Tiffin added the RV house they made changes under the seat that caused the problem thus the problem was not Mercedes. We contacted Tiffin and they said the problem was not theirs. Our Good Sam Extended would not cover it because it is a wiring harness issue. Seems like this is a MB and Tiffin wiring defect and the problem should be included in the recall.Read more

My 2016 Kia Sedona had complete engine failure. I was driving home from work in January 2025 with both my young daughters and the vehicle completely died out of nowhere no warning light no check engine light no oil light I was stranded alongside the road with a four year-old and a six year-old in January temperatures for hours. I had just gotten the oil changed less than 30 days before this incident and I’m just now getting the vehicle back after $3500 in repairs. Also, the vehicle is still being financed. I had it about six months when this happened and I currently still owe $10,000 on it! I’m being told to get rid of it as soon as possible because there was an extreme problem of even trying to locate an engine for this vehicle because there is so many problems with this model. This has been an incredible financial burden on me as a single parent. Kia is doing nothing to accommodate the situation. I will add documentation of the repair bill as soon as it is sent to me.Read more

This vehicle has less than 3,000 miles on it and has been in the shop at least three times for a recurring issue with the transmission "lunging" and "clunking hard upon down shift and upshift (automatic). The electrical system and computer are confused and cause the vehicle to literally stop and not engage in gear while driving! Today, the truck was in DRIVE awhile I was sitting at a light in he
... avy traffic. When I hit the gas at light change, the truck revved up but did not go! I was almost hit from behind as I had no brake lights indicated. Additionally, I kept getting a flashing gear selector indicator knob saying to put the TRUCK IN PARK AND SELECT THE DRIVE OPTION. I did but it still wouldn't go. I then got a software update light on the screen and the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on. I finally had to literally wave people around me in traffic as I was stalled out. I turned the truck off, restarted and it moved forward BUT at a high RPM. I have parked the truck but the dealer service is full up until late in the week and RAM CARE representatives were foreign and did not speak English well (I could not clearly understand them in my emergency call). Dealer is unwilling to act decisively to a life or death situation (opinion mine). SO we need to ensure we don't get killed or injured (God forbid) and IF there is a serious incident with this vehicle, there is documentation to attest it has been "serviced" several times for the electrical system fluctuating, the transmission dropping, and the engine not engaging the power train while driving. Attaching a PHOTO of the CURRENT Dash Lights (Warnings on the Left) and check engine light being on AFTER I got the vehicle re-running.Read more

They are familiar with the problem. It happens to many jeeps they said. They quoted us $1050 dollars to fix it. I went online and found that many people that had paid to have this repaired at the dealership, had the screens fail again soon after the repair. We have not had it repaired yet. Because we don't have confidence that Jeep has a viable solution yet. It has not been inspected by anyone yet. The problem starts to appear as a separation of the screen into three columns. One by one, those columns begin to fail. They fail rather quickly. As the vehicle gets warmer, the screen fails faster. Often the screen doesn't work at all when you first turn the car on. When the car dies, it immediately starts up again and will drive fine after that. I've also been having issues with it jerking. I've taken it to the VW dealership numerous times. They hook it up to see if there are any error codes and there are none. They try to find something to fix, but each time the car might work for a couple of weeks, but the jerking and dying continues. With the randomness of this, the car just doesn't feel safe to drive. I have to be very cautious not to pull out in front of any vehicle that is close for the potential of it dying. I'm calling again today to see if I can get them to fix the crank sensor as I have found others to have the same issue and that seems to fix it. I've spent several thousand dollars to try to get it fixed, but since it doesn't throw any error codes and the randomness of this issue, it's hard to replicate.Read more

I am submitting a complaint regarding an unresolved safety issue with the front passenger restraint system in my 2019 Tesla Model 3 (VIN: [XXX] ). Since February 2024, I have encountered recurring alerts for this system, despite multiple service visits to address it. Service History and Concerns: The initial repair attempt on February 27, 2024, involved Tesla replacing the Occupant Classification
... System (OCS) filter module. However, the alert returned shortly after, showing the issue was not resolved. On October 14, 2024, I returned to Tesla, where they quoted $1,800 for further repairs, claiming my general warranty was expired. Their records indicate that this failure directly impacts the front passenger’s safety restraint, making it a serious defect. During a follow-up visit on October 23, 2024, the issue was confirmed but left unaddressed unless I paid out-of-pocket. This recurring fault poses a critical safety risk, as a defective restraint system compromises passenger protection in a crash. Tesla’s refusal to provide coverage, despite prior similar recalls for restraint systems, suggests a pattern of shifting safety costs onto consumers. I request the NHTSA to investigate this fault’s prevalence and require Tesla to provide a remedy that upholds passenger safety. Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.
