After this service, my truck continues to run poorly and still displays check engine lights related to a crankshaft sensor, which I understand is also under recall (number X94). This issue has not been addressed, further compounding my frustration. Given the circumstances, I am deeply concerned about the effectiveness of the recall process and the service I received. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was inspected, and the contact was informed that the previous repair was performed correctly. The dealer replaced the tires because the tires were worn out. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. When I needed to really go, I experienced "transmission lag" where the engine would be working, reving up, the feeling of engaging the clutch (coasting feeling), then after a moment the gear would catch and the truck would finally take off. I took the truck to a dealership to have it checked out, but the technicians said they couldn't reproduce this issue. I called corporate and they sent me to another dealership. This dealership said the same thing, BUT went the next step and pulled some transmission fluid and found metal shavings. They had the truck for almost 3 weeks and replaced the transmission and torque converter. When I went to pick up the truck I put the truck into drive and felt the jerk I experienced before. I put it into reverse then drive, and again the whole truck jerks. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he can have the foreman look at it the next day. I made him get in the truck with me and showed him the truck jerking when placed into drive. Next day, foreman said there was nothing wrong and performed the same as a new truck on the lot. I spoke to a higher manager and he recommended I bring the truck in for the regional Field Technician. The Field Technician reviewed the vehicle and determined there was nothing wrong and it was performing the same as 3 new trucks on the lot.Read more

The phantom braking on highways is awful, it is so bad that I am afraid to drive in the winter. The torque of the wheel sensor is not safe, when auto steer disables it can take you by surprise causing you to swerve into on coming traffic. The car accused me of using a cheat device one time so I decided to try it and surprisingly I found that it is actually much safer than using my body weight. I was in a parking lot on [XXX] in Mamaroneck, New York waiting in line to get out at approximately [XXX]. Many cars were ahead of me due to the school drop-off rush, with parents and kids lined up in the parking lot waiting to leave. While I was waiting, the Tesla unexpectedly accelerated on its own, but I managed to hit the brakes just in time to avoid colliding with the car in front of me. A
... few seconds later, my car suddenly accelerated again without any input from me. I tried to steer away from the cars in front while repeatedly pressing the brakes, but they weren’t working. All I could think about was avoiding hitting another car or person, so I swerved the car toward the building in the parking lot. The impact was hard, and the car finally stopped, but the airbags didn’t deploy. I’m deeply shaken by the incident; I could have seriously injured someone or even worse. When I got home, I discovered that this issue is a known problem with Tesla, yet they’re placing the blame on drivers. Having never been in a car accident before, this experience has been overwhelming. As a mother and attorney, I believe it’s crucial to examine this situation more closely. Tesla controls the data, and it’s clear that responsible drivers wouldn’t suddenly veer into a building in a crowded parking lot without cause. I have the same drive to work for 10 years, I drive about 2 to 3 times a week to work. There is no major trenches or big bumps on the road. Majority of drive is freeway driving of about 25 miles plus. This is brand new luxury vehicle, and I would know if I drove over some thing so big to cause such a major damage. At no point I drove over any thing major - otherwise I would not have thought of 'tire problem' initially. I am really shocked that driving for 40 years, I have never encountered such an issue. My concern is that the car is so smooth driving that it had such a major damage without driving over any large potholes etc. Not sure if other Mercedes EQS has had similar issues. Dealership states that this is not covered under warranty. I just want to make sure that there is no significant manufacturers defect in these parts to cause such a mjaor damage to the struts without any other damage to the underside of the car. The controls on the Windshield Wiper/Headlight Control Stalk are not visible when driving at night. The setting markings on the Control Stalk are completely dark at night. This creates a safety hazard when driving at night in the rain and turning on your windshield wipers or changing your headlight settings is needed.

After a while when making a U-turn, the car front wheel got completely locked with a "grinding sound" and I lost control of the car. After initial evaluation, they said the bolts of the right suspension lateral arm were not only loose, but detached and fell off, so there was physical locking between the wheel and the lateral arm. Also the bolt attachment site at the subframe was completely worn out so they needed to change the whole subframe and both lateral arms. Beside a clear RECALL from TESLA models 3/y made between 2018-2020 about the exact same issue, and this event being for the same exact problem, Tesla keeps not appreciating that and says that recall is gone. Tesla says the loose component will be audible before it completely separates, but it was not in my case. Looking at people's posts in public media, I strongly believe Tesla is ignoring this life-threatening deficit in these cars and models and this can put the lives of many drivers at risk. While I paid out of pocket for repairs, I'm more concerned about the safety of driving my and similar cars at the moment, so I request adequate investigation. This will be the 2nd time I've had to replace the Crankshaft position sensor and Variable Timing Solenoid, along with a brand new timing kit that I had put on right after I bought the car over a year ago, that is now in need of repair. There has to be some way that Chevrolet can fix these issues for those of us who buy their vehicles. They are supposed to be safe, dependable, durable and last longer than what they do before they start having all of these issues. I have had so many problems with the last 2 Equinox's that I have owned and each one of them have all had the same error messages pop up within a year or less of driving them, some have lasted over a year. I as a vehicle owner should not be held responsible for these kinds of issues going on in a vehicle that I still owe for. Chevrolet needs to understand and take care of their customers to prevent accidents from happening, vehicles from breaking down after short periods of time and replace/repair these malfunctions at their cost so that people like me don't keep going out here spending hundreds of dollars for the same fix after a year or 2 replacing, and it sometimes still not even fix the problem.
