While pulling out of my driveway, I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately afterward, there was a burning plastic-type odor. Later that day, while driving, I noticed a shimmering effect in the bottom right corner of the windshield that caught my attention. U
... pon closer inspection, I realized that the windshield had cracked. It appeared that the earlier popping sound was caused by the initial crack, which was now beginning to spread. I took the vehicle to the dealership that same afternoon to have the issue documented. The technician on duty inspected the windshield, along with a sales advisor and my original salesperson, who was present at the time. The following day, I returned to the dealership, where the service director examined the windshield and found no evidence of impact damage. I was then instructed to bring the vehicle back for evaluation by an official manufacturer representative. After a visual inspection by the Toyota rep, I was informed that the damage would not be covered under warranty. This was over a month after I initially reported the issue and the crack had spread much further by that point. The windshield appears to have broken spontaneously, yet the manufacturer has declined to repair or replace it under warranty coverage. The damage came from the interior portion of the glass which seems like a manufacturing defect.Read more

On April 17, 2025, while driving a 2024 Lexus GX 550 Luxury Plus with a minor passenger in the vehicle, the vehicle locked up without warning as I was exiting the highway. ... failed component appears to be the drivetrain or braking/locking system. The vehicle is currently in the possession of the Lexus dealership and is available for inspection. A Lexus field inspector has been scheduled for early May 2025. Safety was put at serious risk. A child was in the vehicle. The lockup was sudden and without warning, with no ability to anticipate or respond. This incident was preceded by two prior issues with the same vehicle: (1) approximately one month prior, a transmission concern was reported to the dealer, who attributed it to abnormal driving habits and took no corrective action; (2) on April 7, 2025, brake rotors were replaced under a recall for rotors that squeak when exposed to moisture. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, which has retained the vehicle since April 17, 2025. The Power Conversion System (PCS) in the Tesla Cybertruck is experiencing a high rate of hardware-level failure (specifically the PCS2 module) that poses three distinct safety risks beyond the loss of AC charging. ... LV battery. A hardware failure in the PCS (common alerts: PCS2_a094, PCS2_a137) threatens the stability of the 48V system. Any sudden collapse of the 48V bus while in motion could result in a total loss of steering control and vehicle maneuverability, creating an immediate risk of a high-speed collision. Loss of Propulsion and Stranding: PCS failure frequently leads to "limp mode" or a "no-start" condition where the vehicle cannot engage Drive or Reverse. Experiencing a loss of propulsion while in active traffic or being stranded on a highway shoulder without the ability to move the vehicle creates a severe life-safety hazard for occupants and other motorists. Failure of Visibility Systems: Critical safety components, including the primary windshield wiper and exterior lighting, are powered via the 48V system managed by the PCS. Hardware instability has led to reports of these systems failing during inclement weather, severely compromising driver visibility. Tesla has implemented software bypasses (OTA updates) to allow DC Supercharging when the AC hardware fails, but this is a "band-aid" that does not address the underlying hardware defect—likely MOSFET degradation. With replacement parts on backorder for 8+ weeks, owners are forced to operate vehicles with compromised electrical architectures. I am reporting this as a systemic hardware defect that requires an official safety recall.Read more

The vehicle became completely unresponsive and came to a stop in active traffic. I immediately

The representative advised me not to worry and stated that the vehicle likely came to a safe stop location and that there appeared to be no issue since the system had recovered. I was told the vehicle was safe to continue driving. However, this information did not reflect what actually occurred. The vehicle had stopped in the middle of an active roadway, not in a safe location. After the system temporarily became operable again, I continued driving as instructed. However, during a second drive shortly after, the exact same issue occurred again within approximately 10–15 minutes, this time on a much larger and heavily trafficked road. When the vehicle stopped both times, it became completely electronically controlled and unresponsive. There was no manual way to move or safely reposition the vehicle. I felt that my life was in danger due to the inability to regain control or remove the vehicle from traffic. Both incidents occurred on the same day of delivery within a very short time frame, making the vehicle completely unreliable and unsafe to operate. On 04/28/2026, when diagnosing a reoccurring check engine light on the vehicle at a Chevy Certified Service, the mechanic "Borescoped cylinder 4 and found significant scuffs on the cylinder wall which along with the misfires indicate a cracked piston. The big picture appears to be the piston cracked which caused excessive oil consumption and misfires. The excess oil and unburned fuel overloaded th
... e converter causing it to fail. The engine and converter will need to be replaced." In 2017, a recall was issued by GM to mitigate Stochastic Pre-Ignition (SPI) Causing Cracked Piston (17019). Between the initial purchase of the vehicle (11/2016) and performed service required by this recall (03/10/2017), there were approximately 5000 miles driven. No engine diagnosis was performed or recommended. After the 17019 was addressed, the engine misfires continued along with reoccurring CEL. C.S.P. N182195660 Predictive Monitoring for Stochastic Pre-ignition (SPI) released in 2019 states the 1.5 L LFV engines in certain 2016 and 2017 model year Chevrolet Malibu vehicles may have a preignition condition that requires immediate repair. This condition may cause the engine to perform poorly, misfire, run rough, and/or excessively consume oil. It may also illuminate the vehicle’s service engine light. Over time, if not repaired, the condition can damage the vehicle’s pistons and engine. The VIN for this Malibu was not attached to this notice despite it having SPI recall history. On 06/2023 (after the N182195660 program ended), at 80k miles a diagnosis revealed a potential cracked cylinder with no mention of the pre-ignition condition that could cause the crack, and the only way to fix is to replace the entire engine (as per dealer recomendation). Since vehicle was out of warranty, the repair est. was nearly $10k. I firmly believe my 2016 Malibu has suffered the consequences of poor mismanagement on this recall, and am demanding mitigation from GM to fix this issue.Read more

The seatbelt buckles for the rear seats are limited to raising up beyond about a 45 degree angle. This causes the seat belt to bunch up and stop passing through the buckle. This happens before the belt can be tightened enough to secure the car seat in place. It also places a significant amount of sideways torque on the seatbelt buckle, which is not the angle that resistance should be applied. On 3/15/2026 I was on my way home from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania, and about 35 minutes into my drive I got an alert stating "High Engine Temperature Stop Safely", so I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. The vehicle was towed to an Authorized Ford Dealership, Mathieu Ford Sales, Inc. who diagnosed the issue on 3/17/2026. The dealership removed the spark plugs to inspect cylinders and found coolant intrusion into cylinders significantly on cylinder 2. Dealership referenced TSB 22-2322, is recommending short block assembly and related parts to remedy concern. Dealership advised it was safe and okay to drive the vehicle slowly to a nearby residence (to store the vehicle/retain possession), noting to pull over if an alert pops up and to have it towed if I received another message like before. The dealership advised it was not safe to drive the vehicle back to Pennsylvania. There weren't any issues driving the vehicle back on 3/17/2026 following the dealership's guidance; the car hasn't been driven since. The car needed to be jumped to start the vehicle on 4/17/2026 for a tow truck to load the vehicle onto its bed. The vehicle is currently back in possession of the dealership who diagnosed the issue. I believe this vehicle may have the same defective component as those included in the recall, even though it is not currently listed.
