Hi pressure fuel pump stopped working while driving. My mechanic gave me the defective part in case someone wanted to inspect it. At the time of failure, the car suddenly entered "limp" mode and fortunately I was able to pull over to the side. When I tried to get moving, the engine jerked and sputtered to a maximum speed of about 15 mph. All the lights on the dashboard lit up and flashed. War
... nings for many different types of problems displayed, but nothing specific about the fuel pump. There were no warnings previous to the sudden part failure. On the phone, my mechanic immediately told me that it was likely a well-known problem with Honda CRV's. He'd repaired other CRVs with the same problem. A Honda agent told me on the phone "yes" this is a common problem. However she said my CRV is not within the range of VIN numbers under recall. Therefore, I am not eligible for reimbursement at this time. That Honda Agent told me to submit my problem through the NHTSA website and then keep checking to see if my VIN number is eventually within the numbers. Once that is the case I will be reimbursed. I had my trusted mechanic make the repair, per Honda's direction (they said since I'm far away from a dealership and the car is driveable, just have it repaired by my mobile mechanic). Since the repair was completed, it is working fine although I now average 3 mpg less than before the repair.Read more

My coworker has a 2022 Model Y and the same component failed on his vehicle and needed to be replaced under an extended warranty that was purchased from Tesla. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I have the same experience with my Versa - after the vehicle stalls, it is significantly under-powered and even with the throttle completely open in third gear, will not accelerate ov
... er about 40 mph. This is re-creatable and we will make the car available for inspection. In addition, when we first drove the car home from the dealership (the first time at sustained highway speeds), there was a thumping noise from the front passenger wheel well. After multiple trips to the dealership, Nissan replaced the manual transmission under warranty. This has resolved the thumping, but indicates issues with the construction quality of these cars. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The car does not go over 40 mph. This is dangerous in any driving situation that is not a neighborhood road or road with a speed limit of over 40 mph. Others have called this state "limp mode", but I can't see a reason for it. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The tech that replaced the transmission agreed that the car is low on power after a stall. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, dealer representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Subject: Complaint Regarding Delay in DPF TSB Repair for RAM 2500 To Whom It May Concern, I am filing this complaint regarding an extended delay in repairing my 2023 RAM 2500 (VIN: [XXX] ) under Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 25-005-24 REV. A, which addresses a manufacturing defect in the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system. My truck has been at the dealership for over two weeks, and I have
... been informed that the necessary parts are on backorder with no estimated time of arrival. The issue began when my vehicle's Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated, and the vehicle exhibited symptoms as described in the TSB (frequent DPF regenerations and performance derate mode). The dealership confirmed the issue aligns with the conditions outlined in the TSB and stated that the DPF replacement is required. Despite their acknowledgment of the issue, the dealership has been unable to provide a timeline for the part's arrival, explaining that the parts “just show up.” This lack of information and prolonged delay is unacceptable for a repair covered under warranty and related to a known manufacturing defect. The delay has significantly disrupted my daily life, as this vehicle is crucial for [personal/work purposes, towing, etc.]. Additionally, the lack of communication from both the dealership and RAM Customer Care has only added to the frustration. I have attempted to contact RAM Customer Care at multiple numbers, but either no operators were available, or the calls were disconnected after a brief hold. I respectfully request that the appropriate agencies investigate this delay and hold FCA (Stellantis) accountable for ensuring timely repairs for vehicles affected by manufacturing defects. Please feel free to contact me for further details or documentation, including the TSB, service records, and communication history. Thank you for your time and assistance. My wife and I bought a new 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS in August of 2013, which is now over eleven years ago. In late September 2024, with still fewer than 100,000 miles on the car, I noticed a snapping sensation/clunk sound in its steering column when changing the direction of steering (from left to right/right to left.) I researched this symptom and, with the confirmation of a Hyundai Dealer's Ser
... vice Manager, diagnosed the problem as a failing soft coupler between the car's steering column and "Motor Driven Power Steering" motor. NHTSA is aware of the problem, and Hyundai was compelled to issue an elusively brief warranty extension. Having taken delivery of the car over 10 years ago, that warranty extension does us no good, and I'm being told that at the Hyundai Dealer, the job will cost us between four and six hundred dollars, including a complete wheel alignment they say will be made necessary by the repair. I found that a modestly skilled, able bodied, and properly equipped "shade tree mechanic" can buy an aftermarket replacement of this soft coupling for less than fifteen dollars and, with care and a little luck, can complete the repair for ostensibly less than that. (...Unless the job truly creates a need for a wheel alignment.) Since learning all of this, while I've considered whether my bad back is up to the cost-saving job, we've needed to keep driving the car. I estimate we've put another 1,600 miles on it and, especially lately, the coupler's deterioration has obviously been accelerating. My wife and I have agreed I'd best not tackle this as a DIY project so, at Great Lakes Hyundai in Streetsboro, Ohio, we have an appointment for its replacement and subsequent wheel alignment, but we worry about it lasting until then. We feel lucky to be able to afford the ESTIMATED costs, but shouldn't have to. This is a premature and DANGEROUS component failure. A recall should be issued. Hyundai should pay for all of it. ~ [XXX] , Ohio INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),Read more
