I am writing to file a complaint regarding my 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Circuit Edition. The issue pertains to the ECU programming, which was not properly calibrated for the wheels that came with this model. Instead, the weight and dimensions from the Morizo Edition were utilized. This discrepancy causes the vehicle to inaccurately register speed, which is a significant safety concern. The malfuncti
... oning component is the ECU, and it is available for inspection upon request. The inaccurate speedometer readings put my safety and the safety of others at risk by potentially causing unintentional speeding, which could lead to traffic violations and increased risk of accidents. Additionally, the inaccurate speed readings can affect other vehicle systems, such as collision alerts, adaptive cruise control, and braking systems, which rely on accurate speed data to function correctly. For example, collision alerts may not activate in time, adaptive cruise control may not maintain safe distances, and braking systems may not respond appropriately to speed changes. Furthermore, the driver display includes a light that indicates when the vehicle is exceeding the detected speed limit for the current area, which is rendered unreliable due to the inaccurate speedometer. Additionally, the console only displays speed in kilometers per hour (km/h) with no option to switch to miles per hour (mph), which is problematic for North American vehicles and other countries that use mph. The low fuel light also comes on with 20 miles left, which could be related to the same calibration issue affecting the speedometer and other systems. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. However, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps or messages indicating the problem prior to the failure, and the issue was first noticed shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle.Read more

Vehicle Information: • Make: Tesla • Model: Model Y • Year: 2025 Description of the Problem: After a software update pushed by Tesla, the AP4 computer in my 2024 Tesla Model Y shorted out, causing a complete failure of all systems controlled by this computer. The following safety-critical and driver-assist features have become non-functional: Cruise Control (adaptive or otherwise)
... Forward Collision Warning Lane Departure Warning Lane Keeping Assistance Blind Spot Warning Parking Collision Warning Full Self-Driving and Auto Park features Cameras required for Autopilot functionality Additionally, because the GPS system has failed, the vehicle’s Navigation system is inoperable. This impacts Tesla’s unique route planning feature that sets up Supercharger stops during long journeys. Without a functioning navigation system, I cannot properly plan my travel or locate charging stations, which severely affects the usability of the vehicle. Safety Concerns: The failure of these systems, especially safety features like forward collision warning, lane keeping assistance, and blind spot monitoring, puts both the driver and others on the road at risk. Losing access to safety-critical functions after an update is unacceptable and poses a serious danger to vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic. Incident Details: • The issue occurred immediately following a software update. • Tesla pushed the update remotely without providing any warning or indication of potential risks. • The failure appears to be related to a hardware short in the AP4 computer, directly caused or exacerbated by the update. Desired Outcome: • A thorough investigation into Tesla’s software update process and its effect on vehicle hardware and safety systems. • A resolution that prevents similar failures in other vehicles and ensures system updates do not compromise vehicle safety or critical functionality.Read more

2025 Tesla model Y cameras and sensors all stopped working within 700 miles driven from brand new. Upon reporting to Tesla, was told a "new component" was required, which later was told was a new computer. The manufacturer initially set a date 2 weeks in the future for a repair; then they pushed it a month; then tried to push it another month before I pushed back. This resulted in it being taken in earlier than the repair date. The vehicle is still awaiting repair. There were no warnings of this failure, it simply all happened at once. Upon confronting Tesla service with this being a known issue [XXX] ) and requesting a loaner for the meantime, they eventually found one, but only after great protestation and pushback, with eventual threats of legal action leading to a more personal touch. No incident occurred. However, Audi recalled my EV (2022 Audi E-tron) months ago, stating there exists a fire hazard associated with these vehicles. Audi has not provided any effective remedy. The sole advice offered was to refrain from charging the battery beyond 80%. However, Audi has not substantiated the claim that this measure is protective, and it also restricts the performance and intended
... range of the affected vehicles. I contacted Audi of America and my local Audi dealer, but both entities have been unhelpful and unable to offer any reassurance or scientific data. Battery monitoring software is allegedly scheduled to be released this quarter (originally promised in the final quarter of 2024). This proposed solution appears insufficient. Thermal runaway could potentially lead to a fire without sufficient warning to protect consumers, even with software in place. Clearly, Audi should be compelled to replace the batteries before a consumer sustains an injury or fatalities occur due to thermal runaway and fire. Several incidents of fires involving these vehicles have been reported in the United States and other jurisdictions. Audi has since discontinued using these specific batteries and has access to safer and more efficient alternatives. I urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to compel Audi to provide a genuine remedy to this issue as soon as possible to safeguard consumers.Read more

The car makes loud static noise that is distracting. The noise is sudden and does not go away by lowering the volume. NHTSA Vehicle Safety Complaint •Vehicle Information: •Make: Tesla •Model: Model 3 •Year: 2022 •Summary of Incident: On November 28,2024, I experienced an incident involving my 2022 Tesla Model 3 while it was stationary just outside my garage. I accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake. The car surged forward and crashed into the back wall of my garage. Despite Tesl
... a’s advertised safety features, such as Collision Avoidance Assist and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), none of these systems intervened or activated during the incident. I expected the safety systems to detect the garage wall and mitigate the collision, but they failed to respond. Additionally, Tesla’s Obstacle-Aware Acceleration system did not seem to function as intended to limit acceleration in this scenario. •Injuries or Property Damage: There were minor injuries to passenger, but the vehicle and the garage sustained significant damage. •Steps Taken Post-Incident: I have contacted Tesla to request an analysis of the vehicle’s event data logs to determine why the safety features did not activate. I am waiting for their response. •Concern: I am filing this report because I believe this may indicate a potential safety issue with Tesla’s collision prevention systems in low-speed scenarios involving stationary obstacles. This raises concerns about the reliability of these features in real-world situations, particularly for drivers who may accidentally press the accelerator. •Supporting Information: If needed, I can provide photographs of the damage, repair estimates, and additional details.Read more

My 2017 Elantra with 107,000 miles (it has a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty) on it has just experienced the same issue as all of the other Hyundais that have been recalled. On my way home the check engine light went on for a couple of minutes but t
... hen went off and I was able to get home although the car did not seem to be riding well. The next day, the check engine light went on again and so I brought it in to my mechanic. He said that there were metal fragments/shavings in my oil that were clogging my engine, etc. He said that I need a new engine and said he had several other Elantras with the same issue and that I should take it to a Hyundai dealer because of all of their recalls/Class Action Lawsuits which extend warrantees, etc. for the same exact issue. I was able to drive the car there but it was not a safe drive. Their assessment was basically that I need most of my powertrain replaced to the tune of $4100.00 but once they get in there, it might be more extensive and end up having to be replaced. However, they did not say anything about the metal fragments and when I brought it up to them, they acted like they didn't see them. However, my mechanic (with no skin in the game) said they were all over the place in my car's oil. So, I am a little wary that they decided to skate that issue, since it is the basis for all of their Class Actions, etc. I'm kind of stuck, Hyundai has my car and it really isn't drivable. I've checked many Elantra forums and have seen that this is happening to Many other 2017 Hyundi Elantra SE even though they have not yet been added to the recalls/Class Actions, etc. I really think that the Hyundai engine issue is more widespread than just the cars on the current list and I hope that this is looked into as it is extremely dangerous and comes on very quickly without warning.Read more

In July of 2024 I had to brake to avoid striking a deer. My ABS and Traction Control light came on in the dash, and my cruise control stopped working. I contacted Stelantis and they said the ABS module was under "Engineering
... Review" and not available. I received an email in September indicating the part was now available and it was being shipped to my dealership. I never heard back from the dealership, and I called them back on December 17th. The parts manager said his computer indicated again that the part was unavailable and it had been discontinued on October 14th, 2024. He sent me a screenshot of the order screen showing the part was discontinued which I've attached below. I recontacted Stelantis on December 23rd and they started another case (Case #[XXX]) and a case manager would call me back within one working day. I called Stelantis back on January 3rd and spoke with "Edward" who said my case was never assigned and he was going to "expedite" the case (as every other person I had spoken to previously said) and that a case manager would contact me within one working day. As of now, I have not heard back. My ABS brakes and Traction Control (Federally mandated safety equipment since 1998) are inoperable and according to Stelantis, the ABS module is no longer made and there are no aftermarket replacements. I want to bring to your attention what I consider a safety concern with the 2025 Honda Ridgeline Black Editition that I just purchased and an important feature that does not function properly. My concern is the the Auto High Beam Headlight feature. This is one of the features for which I choice to purchase this particular pickup truck. The issue/problem is as follows. The auto high beam featur
... e is very slow to respond and extremely inconsistent as to when and why the headlights switch from low beam to high beam and vice versa. For example, I have experienced while driving a two lane very dark windy road with no street lights; the auto high beam feature is very slow to respond and once it does, it will switch very back to low beam if it detects reflections from traffic signs, reflectors in the center of the road, and or such things as porch lights. I have witnessed the high beam feature switching to low beam when going up or down a hill in the road and/or while going around a corner with no on-coming cars. This can be very unsafe because when you are depending on high beams to see around a corner and suddenly the bright lights switch to low beams is it extremely detracting and difficult to see around the corner when going the speed limit 55 miles per hour. I have witness the high beam feature turning back on while approaching an on coming car and or being very slow switch to low beam while approaching an oncoming car. I feel that this could be dangerous by blinding an on-coming driver. One of the most important safety features on my new Honda Ridgeline is for all purposes unsafe and nu-usable. I have not yet brought this to the dealer's attention because I suspect that they will tell me nothing can be done to fix these problems. I however, intend to do so. I have read on-line that this is a very common problem/complaint with later model Honda Ridgelines and other owners have noted that there is currently no fix for this safety issue. Thank youRead more

steering wheel has excessive play. i have had it looked at by two different dealerships and they are trying to convince me that this is normal. there is about 1 inch of dead band in the straight-ahead position. the dead band movement of the steering wheel shaft does not move the pitman arm at all. the last time i took it to the dealership i asked if they could check the over center preload on the
... steering gear. they said they checked it and it could not be tightened any further without causing secondary problems. I do not believe they performed the actual adjustment as it would have required the steering gear to be removed and adjusted on the bench. the free play results in delayed corrections in correcting for lane drift. i have driven similar trucks and there is very little if any free play. this issue has been present since new.Read more

For the past 1.5 months my oil light has come on intermittently. This is odd because the vehicle has regular oil changes still not due for almost 2000 miles. 4 bottle of oil was added recently. Today the car stopped working while on the NJ turnpike when checked there was no oil in the engine.
