Safety complaint: intermittent uncommanded rear-seat folding while driving; rear (3rd-row) seat belt anchorage integrity. Issue 1 — 2nd-row right seat: Since the purchase, the right-most rear passenger seat in the 2nd row intermittently activates its seat-folding motor while the vehicle is moving. In each event, a passenger was seated in that seat with the seatbelt fastened. The motor engages (
... audible whirring), and the seat attempts to fold fully forward; the passenger’s body prevents a complete fold, so the seat partially collapses while occupied. This has never occurred when the seat is unoccupied. The most recent documented event times provided to the manufacturer for electronic log review (CST): • Fri Jan 23: 7:40 AM; 7:41 AM • Mon Feb 2: 7:26 AM; 7:29 AM; 7:53 AM; 7:54 AM The manufacturer requested these exact times to check vehicle logs, but reported they could not find evidence in the logs and could not reproduce the issue during service/test drive. Issue 2 — 3rd-row seat belts: During a service visit on Feb 3, 2026, the manufacturer found that the 3rd-row seat belt anchors were not secured to the vehicle (documented as a safety concern) and performed a repair/adjustment to secure the left 3rd-row seat belt, then validated its operation afterward. The manufacturer had also previously documented (March 17, 2025) that the 3rd-row seat belts were not properly mounted and were unsafe/operational for passengers, but took no action in March 2025. No crash, fire, or known injuries to date. Request to NHTSA: Please log and review this as a potential safety defect involving (1) uncommanded activation of a rear seat-folding mechanism resulting in partial seat collapse while the seat is occupied and the vehicle is moving, and (2) rear (3rd-row) seat belt anchorage/installation integrity, based on recurring real-world events and manufacturer service documentation.Read more

A tire experienced a sudden bead-area blowout while the vehicle was traveling at freeway speed. There was no pothole, curb, debris, or roadway impact. The failure occurred approximately ten days after installation. Inspection shows failure at the tire bead adjacent to a wheel defect. The wheel was represented as new at installation but shows evidence of prior material removal and cosmetic recondit

The contact owns a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered while in first gear. The contact stated that the transmission sounded strained and shifted rough before slamming into gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the vehicle was
... oversteering while turning to the right. The dealer replaced the valve and torque converter. On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle accelerated independently. Most recently, a burned transmission fluid odor was coming from the front of the vehicle and entered the cabin through the A/C vents. There oil stains found on the ground on several occasions. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the valve body was replaced, the fluid levels were checked, and the transmission filter was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact called the dealer, and the dealer towed the vehicle. The dealer determined that the oil cap was loose. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 8,496.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The steering system failed due to corrosion and water ingress affecting both the steering rack and the associated steering wiring harness. These components were replaced by Tesla and are no longer available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The steering syste
... m is a safety-critical component. Corrosion and water intrusion created a risk of reduced or sudden loss of steering assist while driving, which could lead to loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Tesla service confirmed water ingress and corrosion affecting the steering rack and wiring harness and performed a full replacement of both components. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes. The vehicle and steering components were inspected by Tesla at a Tesla Service Center, which identified water ingress and corrosion as the cause of failure. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. The vehicle displayed steering-related warning messages prior to repair, including reduced steering assist alerts, which prompted inspection by Tesla service. The warnings appeared shortly before the repair was performed.Read more

The ownership of my 2022 Hyundai Veloster N has been defined by an unresolved safety recall that has left the vehicle undriveable and in the dealer's possession for a month. My attempts to address the issue began in September 2024, when I brought the car in for the High-Pressure Fuel Pump recall (NHTSA 24V528). The dealer performed a software update but declined to replace the pump. The situation
... escalated on January 2, 2026, when the vehicle suffered a severe loss of power. The dealer then replaced the recalled pump, but the fix was unsuccessful. Immediately after leaving the dealership, the car failed again, stalling during a turn in traffic and creating a clear and dangerous situation. That incident initiated a cascade of failed repair attempts. Over the next several weeks, at Hyundai's direction, the dealer replaced the fuel sensor and then the fuel injectors, but the core problem remained. The impact has been significant. I have been without my personal vehicle for a month, forcing me to rearrange work and personal commitments to manage the situation. The dealership remains unable to diagnose the root cause, and after multiple failed attempts, my confidence in the safety and reliability of this vehicle has been completely undermined.Read more

One day my car would not charge. At all. Luckily, I was at home when this happened, but had it happened to me or worse, my wife it could've been a very scary or dangerous situation. Either one of us could've been stuck with no way of charging. It's like a gas car with no way of putting gas in. The car would not charge from home or other chargers, including Tesla superchargers. When I described
... the problem to the Tesla dealer, they were very aware of the problem and said that it was the Power Conversion System. There was no prior warning before this happened. Though they are aware of the problem, they are only fixing/replacing them on a warranty basis. Even though they know about the faulty part that they made, and acknowledge, they are not doing a recall or fixing the problem unless you pay for the parts and labor. I asked if this is normal for a car that is under 2yrs old and he said this part can go bad at anytime. The best thing that can happen is for it to happen early while still under warranty. But the part does not break due to wear and tear, or overuse, or abuse. It is due to a faulty design that needs to be replaced. That's why they have a new part that they replace it with now.Read more

This was reported to Kia Customer Care on 10/20/2025, case # XXX, and later was complemented with the Kia Customer Care case # XXX. On 11/11/25 Kia America recognized that the car was unrepairable and offered a buyback process which was accepted by me on 11/12/25. It has passed 105 days since the car was parked and not used for ridesharing, my main source of income. During this 105 days Kia Finance America has been demanding payments from me, they have not stopped the billing despite my several request. Kia offered me rent a car through Enterprise which does not allow to do ridesharing with their cars, and also car rental reimbursement which I cannot afford. As of today, my lost income has achieved the amount of $ 33,036.77; this was warned to Kia America since the beginning of the process. Recorded rear camera unavailability during reverse was approximately 10–17 seconds. MCU crash/reboot behavior w

Additional observations: - With the turn signal activated, light leakage was observed in the side repeater camera image (glare/bloom present in the camera view). - With each windshield wiper sweep, the forward camera image was observed to briefly flicker to a purple/green distorted state and then return to normal. - During driving, the on-screen message “Auto Lane Change unavailable” was observed. A separate rear camera symptom has also been observed: intermittent freezing/stale frames (image appears not to update). This rear camera freeze behavior has not yet been captured on video. I am submitting this complaint to report a significant and unusual mechanical failure involving my 2021 Ram truck. The vehicle experienced a failure of the heater core assembly, which resulted in engine coolant leaking directly into the passenger compartment. This failure caused coolant odor and fluid intrusion inside the cabin and required extensive disassembly of the dashboard and HVAC system t
... o repair. The total cost of repairs exceeded $5,300, which I believe is disproportionate and unexpected for a vehicle of this age and mileage. Two separate repair visits were required as it was found after the heater core was replaced the actuator on the driver’s side was damaged by the ongoing leak and required repair. The vehicle has been properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer recommendations. While this incident did not result in an immediate crash or injury, the nature of the failure raises safety and health concerns, including: •Driver distraction due to coolant fumes and loss of defrost capability •Exposure of occupants to engine coolant within the enclosed passenger compartment •Sudden loss of cabin heating and windshield defogging capability in cold weather Given the age of the vehicle and the severity of the failure, this does not appear to be normal wear and tear. I am concerned that this may represent a design, material, or manufacturing defect that could affect other vehicles of the same model year. The odor was present for many months prior to the failure; however, the local dealership could not examine the issue at the time of a prior oil change due to lack of time on that visit. I am submitting this report to document the issue, assist in identifying potential patterns, and ensure appropriate review by the manufacturer and regulatory authorities. Repair invoices and supporting documentation are included.Read more

I took my truck in to be repaired for an incompetent tow truck driver wrapping a chain around the pinion yoke to put my truck on a flatbed because the alternator failed. Once the pinion seal repair was completed, the repair shop told me there were codes popping up on how it was running. The codes were related to the timing and were likely the cam phasers needing to be replaced with the timing. It
... turns out that the engine was needing to be replaced because there were grooves in the cam journals from metal shavings that were caused after the cam phaser lock out pin broke. The engine was on backorder from Ford and after a little over 3 months, I got a new engine for a mere $12,314. This is for a used truck that I purchased and have only owned for just going on 2 years. I called Ford corporate office to see if I could get help paying for the repairs but they told me that I had to take it directly to a Ford dealership. The Ford dealerships nearby are 3 or more months out, just to take a look at your vehicle and diagnose it. I couldn't wait that long, so I went to a local mechanic shop that I trust. It was hard enough having to wait 3 months for my engine to be replaced, let alone waiting 3 months for Ford to diagnose it and then however long for them to actually replace it.Read more

I was driving on the highway when my sunroof suddenly shattered out of nowhere. There were no vehicles directly in front of or beside me, and the weather was clear. The sound was extremely loud, sounded like a gunshot and it happened completely out of nowhere. There was no visible impact from rocks or debris. While driving, I receive messages that the key is not detected (although, I understand the car should NOT shut off while running after started and this has NOT occurred thankfully.). I will provide further documentation once available but want to report in case others experience this issue.Read more

The front passenger seat sensor failed. Without the sensor properly detecting weight, the airbag will deploy no matter the weight of the front seat passenger. Tesla has fixed the sensor placement in newer models as the service tech told us this is a common issue in later models where the only fix is to pay over $5k to replace the entire seat otherwise the airbag will go off no matter what.
