While waiting in a parking lot, I was reviewing the settings available on the lower center display, one of those options was for "Camera." Inside this menu I found and made adjustment for options like brightness, contrast, tint, color, and black level... and while most of those seemed to work well, and I was able to make suitable adjustments to the camera--the tint and color options seemed to ha
... ve no effect on the image. So, I opted to adjust tint from the default/middle value all the way to the left/lowest value and save the settings. Even then, with that saved, I was able to switch to the camera and could see there was no difference in the image still. I then remained with the vehicle, still parked with the engine idling, waiting another ten minutes or so before preparing to leave. When I put my vehicle in reverse gear, I was shocked to see that the camera displays had gone completely black. I could no longer see the rear images when backing up. I tried going back to park and again to the rear setting--still, there was no image being displayed for the cameras. I could see some items on-screen still, like the button to switch camera views and to toggle the parking sensors on/off. When switching camera views/angles, the system would continue displaying the same two black/empty displays. I tried turning the engine off and back on--but that didn't seem to have any effect, the system remained broken. I was able to use the rear view camera on the reviewer mirror--but the normal backup cameras remained non-functioning. I promptly tried opening the camera settings again to reset all of the brightness, contrast, tone, color, and black level settings to the default values... but still, the preview area was black and no image could seen. I've verified the outside of the vehicle... these cameras are not blocked at all. There was nothing that could've cause these to go dark. I drive the vehicle home (~5 miles), and found the camera still not to be working.Read more

Latest incident (7/21/23) resulted in check engine light code: P1DD2 - “Torque Request Signal from TCM denied”. Check engine light came on - Jeep felt like it was going to stall. For several months now, I’ve had intermittent issues with the Jeep “shifting” on its own while driving without me touching the shifter. I then get an alert that I can’t change gears while driving & I have
... to pull over to try to resolve the issue. This has happened to me several times but when I’ve reported it, the mechanic / Jeep dealer couldn’t make the issue happen again. In addition, since owning this Jeep, the most I can drive is 3000 miles before needing an oil change. My oil is being “burned through”. Most recently I didn’t even make it 1000 miles after an oil change without losing atleast 2-3 quarts of oil. Not sure why this is happening as I should be able to go between 5k-6k miles between oil changes.Read more

While driving, the passenger airbag system would initiate an alert that it needed service, at which time the passenger airbag would turn off with somebody sitting in the seat. My, and my passengers', safety was at risk by the airbag turning off with a full-grown adult sitting in the seat. A Subaru dealership confirmed the alerts and reset them. The code they captured was 'occupant detection senso
... r malfunction'. The alerts persisted, as did the airbag turning off. There is a previous recall related to this issue - the dealership made it clear that they would do nothing beyond the NHTSA required 'solution', which had already been done and did not solve the problem. They said the only way to positively fix it would be to replace the seat, and quoted me $1500 to do so. I contacted Subaru of America multiple times regarding this issue. They agreed to cover the cost of the seat replacement.Read more

The front passenger seat belt light was not going away even when the passenger was in the seat with the belt on. The dealership kept the car for 8 days to fix these issues. They offered no loaner or rental for us to use during this time. The seatbelt light was coming on due to a failure of the airbag sensor. The dealership and Kia have advised the part needed for repairing this issue is back-ord

Even though this major safety issue exists Kia has offered nothing in the way of a solution. Approximately half a dozen times this year on highway journeys between California and Las Vegas, when the vehicle is on cruise control at approx. 70-75 mph, I have experienced brief instances of unnecessary, automated braking. Each time apparently in response to large black patches in front of the car, either a mismatched repair of the highway or a dark mirage type reflection of the sun on the hig
... hway. It appears to me that the vehicle cameras are occasionally mistaking these dark patches as an obstacle. Presumably lidar sensors would not react because the radar would not bounce back off anything, but I believe my car does not have lidar sensors. In each case there was an approximate 10 to 15 mph reduction in speed and then the vehicle quickly recovered. Fortunately, no other vehicle was tailgating me at the time but if one had been, I believe there is a realistic risk of being rear ended. Alternatively, the driver behind would, presumably, apply the brakes, which may cause a chain reaction when the highway is in fact, clear ahead. I have not contacted Tesla. Based on other reports online, it appears to be a waste of time.Read more

There are four safety concerns I have with the 2016 Hyundai Tuscon: 1.) The Check Oil light failed to illuminate indicating the need for more oil. 2.) The excessive oil consumption may have caused my catalytic converter to misfire and melt. 3.) The Check Engine light failed to illuminate when my catalytic converter misfired and melted. 4.) The Knock Sensor (if it is bad), which is installed on my
... vehicle, could fail and not warn me about any engine problems. On 7/3/23, my vehicle was having a difficult time accelerating up a mountain. My brother and I also heard a rattling noise, so my brother drove to a safe place. I had my vehicle towed to a local auto service garage, where I was told the catalytic converter melted due to misfiring and that I needed to replace it. On 7/5/23, I had my vehicle towed to the closest Hyundai Dealership, where they confirmed that the vehicle's catalytic converter was melted due to misfiring. After researching the causes catalytic converters misfiring, I read several complaints about the said vehicle's oil consumption and poor acceleration. I suspect there might be a connection to the catalytic converter misfiring and melting. Incidentally, I have had two other incidents where my vehicle lacked acceleration and started shaking. One occurred on 12/28/22, while I was entering an intersection. The other happened on 4/1/23, while I was attempting to pass another vehicle. All three incidents could've ended tragically. The Check Engine light did illuminate during two of the incidents, but not the incident that occurred on 7/3/23. Additionally, the catalytic converter was previously tested on 12/31/22 and it didn't have any bad codes. Sparkplugs were also replaced on 12/31/22, and a 3-Step Fuel System Cleaning was done on 6/12/23. The Check Oil light only illuminated once since I have owned the vehicle, but failed to illuminate when my oil was getting low in between oil changes. My SUV is still in service waiting for a Catalytic Converter.Read more

As I was trying to make a turn into the parking lot of a convenient store, my Tesla Model X started accelerating suddenly and unintendedly without my foot being on the accelerator. I kept pressing on the brake to stop the car, but it would not stop. I had no control and while it accelerated for 15-20 yards eventually it hit two other cars that were parked there. This happened so quickly. We all we

I am confident that I did NOT press the accelerator pedal. The car was not on autopilot. My initial speed was probably 5 miles/hour, but it accelerated so suddenly that four airbags deployed, and the car is not drivable. Insurance company is evaluating whether the car is repairable, but I am afraid of driving with this car again until the problem is found and fixed. This could have turned to a major tragedy.Read more

This issue has been persistent for at least 4 times a week for the past 4 months since getting the vehicle. This happens randomly and I am forced to pull over immediately while the extremely loud static noise is piercing my ears. There are no warnings prior to the issue occurring, just happens randomly. The Fuel Injectors in this generation of Honda CR-V's (2017-current), have widespread reported issues related to clogged injectors - mostly in 2017-2019 models at approx. the 75,000 mile range. This causes the vehicles computer to illuminate multiple warning messages on the dash board (Emission System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, V
... ehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem), Hill Start Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Electric Parking Brake Problem, Tire Pressure Monitor Problem). These warning messages are usually related to an OBD-II code of running too rich or cylinder misfire - P0172, P0303, P219F, etc.... Once one of these fuel injector related trouble codes is illuminated on the dash, all the above listed safety features are disabled. In certain cases, the car may even go into LIMP mode - even while on the highway and vehicle traffic behind the vehicle. There are many documented cases online on Facebook CR-V groups, and other CR-V related websites documenting this problem. Again, all related to a potential poor design with the Honda CR-V Fuel Injector in the 1.4L Turbo engine introduced in the 2017 model year - that then disables key safety features of the vehicle! Ex. https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/2023-fuel-injector-replacement-discussion-merged-master-thread.225172/ https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/fuel-injector-replacement-discussion-merged-master-thread-now-retired.219349/page-19 Many 2017-2019 Honda CR-V's are requiring the replacement of Fuel Injectors somewhere in the 50-100k mile range. Honda has often offered to cover the cost of the parts ($800+) and the consumer is left paying for the labor ($500-800). Car misfires and shuddering at certain speeds. It was determined that coolant was leaking into the engine. $7500 bill to replace the 2.0L engine. Car had around 130km. Ford would not cover any of the costs. This should not be happening with a car of the age/mileage. Ford needs to do something about this and cover the cost.
