We received a recall notice during the pandemic for an issue that previously was a recall. It was repaired but was not a permanent fix. There was oil leaking on the alternator but we were told that they couldn't make the repair for three months due to being so backed up. We understood and put off the repair until they were more caught up. We took our Veracruz in for the repair, which was supposed
... to be at no cost to us, only to have the dealership want over $2000 to repair it or they said they couldn't guarantee that oil wouldn't continue to drip onto the alternator. We declined the extra cost because the recall was to replace the alternator and install an oil protector. They told us that our vehicle would be ready at a certain time and it wasn't. When we finally got it back they left out parts and didn't let us know they had them but easily located them when we went back to get them. The next morning after we picked up our vehicle it was dead and there was oil all over the inside under the hood. We are not sure that the alternator was changed and no oil protector was installed. We tried contacting Hyundai Customer Care but after a week of phone tag they told us we would need to contact the dealership that we originally went to and so far they have not responded. At this point we are just frustrated and are ready to get rid of the vehicle because even when we were able to get it to drive it kept shutting off while going down the road making it very unsafe. We are contacting you because we don't know what else to do and if we do find someone to take it, we don't want to put someone else in a dangerous position thinking it is fixed when it is not.Read more

Looking online, it's becoming more frequent with Pathfinders as of late and was told the same thing by some of the people at the dealer. It has been in the shop for diagnostics and awaiting parts for coming on 30 days. It is almost going to be a CA Lemon law issue. Now it is waiting on a gasket which more than one person at the dealer said that they might have to take from another vehicle to get the vehicle done. To me, bought a BRAND NEW 2023 NISSAN PATHFINDER PLATINUM; not a 2023 NISSAN PATHFINDER PLATINUM WITH USED PARTS. As far as I know, gaskets shouldn't be reused if at all possible. Driving on freeway speed 80mph with no other cars around the car slammed on brakes while on cruise control. It was able to accelerate and the next time I put the cruise control on a few minutes later it slammed on brakes again. Car clean no warning that it was trying to avoid an unseen object. Drove rest of the way without cruise control on and no problems.

My Ryker has developed the Yaw SAS fault codes C006C & C0063C being excessive play in steering components. It is a very wide known problem causing the trike to go into limp mode with no consumer fix without a dealer getting involved. This comes down to a poor designed bushing on the SAS sensor that fails due to turning stress on it. I am aware of the TSB 137209 which is also on my list of repairs.

The actions of Toyota appear to prioritize financial gains over the well-being and security of countless drivers and passengers who are potentially endangered by these defective brakes. Their stance is exemplified by the reluctance to offer a comprehensive solution. I find myself compelled to bear the burden of approximately $3,000 in brake-related expenses at dealerships—an unjust imposition on consumers, given Toyota's distribution of flawed components that jeopardize safety and lives. Toyota's response has been inadequate, limited to extending warranties and performing repairs solely on vehicles that have already experienced brake failures. This approach neglects the prevention of potential injuries or fatalities that could be averted through proactive measures, such as issuing a full-scale recall. I had been driving for just shy of 4 miles when this happened and had hit the brakes multiple times on this trip due to multiple sharp turns prior to the straight stretch. I was the lead car at various points in this trip, so if adaptive cruise had been on, I would’ve accelerated prior to this incident. Additionally, hitting the brake multiple times when I was traveling would’ve turned off cruise control had it been on already. We reported this to Genesis immediately and have awaited some closure, but they have been dismissive and unconcerned despite multiple points of outreach from us. We stopped driving the GV80 after a trip to the Genesis service center failed to provide any resolution. When shutting the car off and opening the driver door all accessories that should of shut off are still active including the radio. When plugging in a car scanner the anti theft system light turns on and at random times will shut the car off. When the car scanner gets plugged in the rpms drop for a second and then go up as well. Restarting the vehicle does not fix the problem. Static continues for up to 40 minutes. The 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport's body coating is clearly a hazardous manufacturer defect. The paint warranty for this and other models and model years was extended to 5 years late last year, but did not provide us with any safeguard. ... period, the pearl white paint suddenly started bubbling on the front hood in June 2023. Within a month, the bubbling and peeling had extended along the entire width of the hood as the deterioration accelerated with wind impact during each drive and water impact during frequent Florida downpours. The white paint separated cleanly from the base coating, clearly indicating poor paint material and/or factory application (i.e., failure of coating layers to adequately bind). The situation had degraded to making further driving hazardous, as moving at speeds above 35 - 40 mph caused additional peeling and flaking, which caused distractive flagging of loosened patches followed by tearing of large and small pieces of paint. The former would suddenly detach and "fly" towards and past the windshield, while the latter separated from the hood in streams that resembled snowflakes. These seriously distracted the driver, and presumably nearby motorists as well, putting all at risk. Fortunately, this has not resulted in an accident. We're aware that Hyundai is responsible for this road hazard, but cannot rely on a timely recall to remedy the matter. So, at the end of July, we had the vehicle stripped to expose the metal, and reapply coatings the way they should have been at the factory. This of course was done at significant personal cost. So far, this has played out very unfavorably in terms of the public perception of the lack of accountability for this manufacturing defect by Hyundai and the NHTSA, both of whom have been keenly aware of this years-long, on-going risk to U.S. motorists.Read more

I have taken my car to mechanic and they have told me that my car is leaking gasoline. They recommended that I go to the dealer. When I called the dealer they told me that I would have to pay for the diagnosis. This is obviously concerning as gasoline fumes are toxic. There has been no warning lamps turned on this whole time but can definitely smell it when I finish my ride.

While traveling on a busy interstate highway, my Tesla 3 presented four errors on the control screen: Automatic Emergency Braking disabled, Power reduced, Vehicle shutting down and Unable to drive. The left hand side of the screen flashed red and instructed me to pull over safely. The car was immediately slowing down, and as I was in heavy traffic, I was unable to pull over to the shoulder safely.
... I turned on my hazard lights and performed a soft reset of the car - which caused my hazard lights to turn off, all while cars were honking and whizzing around me. After the car reset, I was able to drive a short distance, with enough speed, to cross several lanes of traffic and come to a stop on the shoulder emergency lane of an exit ramp. The car is only 6 months old, with 4000 miles, but had to be towed to the Tesla service center. The problem has been diagnosed as a problem with the rear drive unit inverter and will be replaced under warranty. While I appreciate the resolution and that it will be fixed, it could have been a very serious situation and caused an accident. Thankfully, I was able to get to safety and wait to be towed.Read more

While using adaptive cruise control on 2023 Tesla Model Y we experienced multiple instances of emergency braking (rapid deceleration w/o touching brakes, accelerator steering column, etc.) without any warning during multiple scenarios - dusk, daylight, sunny and cloudy weather. Occurred on both straight and curved sections of highway with no other vehicles in front of vehicle.
