When travelling with adaptive speed control enabled the car will suddenly and violently decelerate 30 to 50 MPH below the set speed. This happens frequently and does not appear to correlate with anything specific. Sometimes it happens when passing a large white truck. Sometimes there is no other traffic anywhere near me. Picked up truck on 10.30.23, drove about 50 miles 11.2.23 to work and back, that night went to drive and the engine light was back on. I turned off an hour later. I drove it the next day no engine light, leaving physical therapy for my recent shoulder replacement, going 40 mph when it did the same thing it did in June! It jolted me two times nearly hitting my head on the steering wheel. The transmission shifted to 1st gear, certainly red-lining the engine. I drove the truck slowly to Delillo, just a few miles away. I told the service manager I can never drive this truck again, it is unsafe, traumatizing waiting for this to happen again. I would never put my family in this truck again. It has caused me physical and emotional trauma. The vehicle is unsafe, the jolts caused my new shoulder to hurt. It is devastating to think what would happen if I was at freeway speeds. It was so intense it set fire to the wooded area. This wasn't the first problem I had with this vehicle. I purchased this vehicle new from a dealer in Bowie, MD in 2019. Since that time I replaced all 4 tires due to numerous flat tires starting around 20K miles. I replaced the battery at less than 25K miles. I had braking issues when going downhill in the Washington DC area which caused me to brake hard. I complained and the dealer said they did an inspection. I also had other auto service companies perform checks. I have most of the service records which have cost me so much. I am a disable Gulf War Veteran on a fixed income. I am now waiting for VIN verification by GEICO because the vehicle burned so hot that the engine block and everything metal (melted). Problem #1- I had to replace the ABS module and HCU on this truck at about 10k miles. (this was completed under warranty). Then at 50k miles truck was diagnosed with the same problem. I had to pay out of pocket for this repair. I ordered these parts from the dealer in November 2021, and they did not get me in until August 19, 2023. I had to pay ($1152.33). It also chimes every time. it is very distracting. while these service lights are on, I had no cruise control or traction control. Problem # 2 Transmission over drive failed. I had to replace transmission and transfer case. This makes for an unsafe vehicle that could leave me stranded on the side of the road. this repair cost me ($7,500). Failed at 67,675 miles. Problem # 3 turbo actuator failed and had to replace at 68,565 miles this cost me ($1750). this is an extended warranty on the 2015 model year pickups. Should be all across the board for all trucks using the same design/parts. In total on just repairs under 70k miles I have been forced to spend ($10,402.33). This truck is not road safe at all and I should be reimbursed for all my money I had to spend. At the bare minimum i should be compensated for all my down time plus repairs.Read more

It should be noted that parking brake functions and vehicle hold feature may have been affected by this failure. I emailed several people about our situation, one being [XXX] , and received a response from Hailey, Customer Service Specialist with Hyundai Motor America and her response was for us to have Oil Consumption Testing done. She said that it would be our responsibility to pay for the testing and any repairs that need to be done since we're past the warranty and the years of our vehicles. From what the dealership and other mechanics keep saying, I feel it should be a recall for this problem due to Hyundai being aware that this has been a problem with their vehicles for years. I've known people to have cars much older than ours that never had an oil consumption problem such as this. Also, from what I read, this Oil Consumption Testing is a process that is done in stages which can be costly. Plus this Oil Consumption problem can lead to our engine dying without us knowing when it will die. With this problem, we don't have any warning that our motor oil is low or empty for our oil light will either blink or don't come on at all. I have seen mine blink, but by then the oil was already gone. My husband's oil stick had burnt and he purchased another one from Hyundai. The new one is now burnt and mine is burnt as well. We heard a very loud gunshot noise on 2023-10-20 while traveling on the I40 during a weekend road trip. We immediately got off the upcoming exit to inspect the tires for a blowout and other vehicle issues, however no issues were seen. I immediately closed the cracked moonroof shade and checked the top of the vehicle to discover a huge hole in the moonroof. Thankfully the sunshade protected us from the shattered glass and no one was hurt. The vehicle was taken to the dealership upon returning home on 2023-10-23 for an inspection and they observed it appeared that the moonroof blew out (up position). I identified the following recalls which described the same situation as mine (SI B11 11 16 and SI B11 17 16) but was informed by the local BMW dealership my VIN was ineligible for both. ... here the mechanic confirmed the issue to be the oil feed line and replaced it with part # 11-42-8-678-840, removing original part # 11-42-8-626-652. The aforementioned recalls specify the smoke from the exhaust is caused by faulty oil feed lines or carbonization of the turbocharger sealing ring, both of which may be resolved by installing part # 11-42-8-678-840 that includes a check valve to prevent this issue moving forward. While my car was experiencing the same problem and required the same part # to resolve, it was classified as ineligible due to the very limited scope of the recalls, namely the production and model years of eligible cars (2011-2013). While my car was manufactured in January of 2016, it still received an inadequate oil feed line that did not contain the check valve. This is problematic as no recall was issued for my car thereafter once BMW identified this issue as early as October of 2016. I have since spoken with the parts manager at my local dealership as well as a case manager with BMW of North America and was informed no further assistance could be provided. I feel my car should have been included in a recall to replace the oil feed line was it did not receive one with a check valve upon production.Read more

I thought perhaps I left my lights on. A short time later, the battery went dead again. I took it back to the same dealer (February 19, 2022) and they gave me a new battery. I returned to the dealer (October 26, 2022), insisting to them it couldn't be the battery - there must be something else wrong. They completed a parasitic draw procedure, charged $939.67 and claimed to have fixed it. A short time later, the battery went dead yet again. I returned to the dealer (November 16, 2022) and the service manager told me there was nothing more they could do, they already spent countless time on this issue and that I just needed to drive the car more. On October 13, 2023, the battery went dead yet again. This time, I contacted Honda Customer Service and was assigned a case manager who proceeded to tell me that I needed to go back to the dealer and obtain a diagnosis before they could help me. On October 31, 2023, I contacted the service manager at the dealer who told me he was going to charge me by the hour and that the diagnosis may take many hours to determine. There is clearly a defect with this car! There is a class action lawsuit pending which includes many, many prior complaints made to NHTSA on this issue. I am not motivated to continue to pay a dealer to fix an issue that apparently should have been solved by a product recall.Read more

While traveling on an open highway with no obstructions, the vehicle applied the brakes very hard causing all passengers to slide forward in their seats activating the seat belt locks. It's very hard to see the bison in the dark when the other car turns on the high beam, for both humans and cameras, the self-driving without radar or LiDAR is not able to detect the obstacle at the blind spot. I want to report this accident as a reference, the car's self-driving software helped me avoid serious injury. The Tesla FSD(Full Self-Driving or Autopilot) is great but I still hope there's more sensor such as radar or LIDAR can be added to the car for better night vision self-driving. It was reported to them a second time and we were told that the mileage had exceeded our plan limit and we were denied a second time. We believe that this vehicle should have been repaired before it was sold to us (Ford TSB proves that they knew this was a problem). It has not been repaired and we are faced with paying a bill of $4500-$5500 on our own. We are looking for guidance on the next steps that we should take in regard to this repair.
