We bought a 2023 Model Y from the Mesa Tesla on 12/17/23. The staff rushed orientation (we are first-time EV owners) saying they were so busy that we could only get 15-30 minutes max for a complex vehicle. They told us calibration is normal and to reboot the Y if anything happens and showed us how. Once we drove off the lot the A/C went out and we got calibration prompts saying Pull Over. We pulle
... d over less than 0.5 miles out and the A/C came on. Because of the bullying at the dealer we we afraid to go back and decided to go home. Again the calibration prompts came on and Pull Over. My wife was driving with my daughter and my in-law's and I was behind her in another car with our son. She suddenly started slowing down on the road because the vehicle would not let her accelerate. I pulled over to the side but she could not. I went to her and rebooted the Y, per Tesla's directions, and the car went dark and locked me and my in-law's inside in moving traffic (my wife had exited with my daughter). We had to call Gilbert police to direct traffic around us (had many angry drivers until Gilbert police came not understanding why a Y with a paper license tag was stopped in the road) and a tow truck for help. Two other drivers did stop to help too. I found the manual release but my in-law's could not. The tow truck driver had to climb (we had previouly rolled the windows down with the A/C issue) from the front seats to the back to get my in-law's out and paid $140.00 to have our new Y towed back to the dealer. For one week the story keeps changing - there is a coolant leak, no coolant leak but bad sensor, now the PCS is bad. I do not understand how the government can sanction such vehicles. We saved for a long time to purchase what was a dream vehicle for my wife and our famil'ys life was endangered within minutes. We are terrified of this vehicle and being around others like it on the road.Read more

For the past few months, my car has been experiencing a recurring issue with the steering wheel feeling inexplicably stuck. This concern poses a severe safety risk as it occurs almost every time I'm behind the wheel. Whether I'm driving on the highway or in the city, attempting to make slight adjustments to the left or right results in the steering wheel becoming rigid, demanding additional force
... to maneuver. This scares me as it can lead to an inability to avoid a hazard on the road. This increased force often leads to an over-adjustment, causing the vehicle to veer more than intended, a hazardous situation, especially on the highway. Driving my car has become an alarming experience, and I find myself feeling extremely anxious each time I take it out on the road. Upon conducting thorough research, I discovered that many other owners have faced a similar issue. Notably, the Honda Civic, which shares several components with the Acura Integra, has previously undergone a recall for this exact problem.Read more

So thanks to YOUR interference my Autopilot on my Tesla is broken... You guys THINK you are making our cars safer by getting your controlling poorly educated stupid hands into Tesla systems that are DESIGNED TO BE MORE SAFE. So thanks to YOUR agencies interference and forcing Tesla to levy this bogus "recall fix" on us I almost got rear-ended...in the car I work so hard to pay for, the car that I love because it keeps me and my family safe because guess what we are humans and not robots. Just as YOU do and everyone in your agency we ALL have to look at our phones briefly while driving because we live lives where we have to make sure those we love are ok or make sure our phone is charged for when we reach our destination. You are going to do exactly the opposite of your agencies supposed mission of keeping us safe. You will kill people with this stupid "recall". Get your crap together and tell Tesla to reverse Autopilot back to its normal safe operating parameters and STOP BANNING PEOPLE FROM AUTOPILOT otherwise there are going to be a lot more wrecks and deaths. I'm not saying you should be taking duck selfie pictures for social media with your phone while in Autopilot on a rural back road...that person deserves to be a victim of modern natural selection. But what your doing is over-controlling and you have no right to dabble in things you obviously don't understand. Your agency should be ashamed of itself, you are about as efficient as our government is at managing money...FIX IT BACKRead more

Tesla software updates aren't transparent on the changes to the cars behavior they will cause. They hide behind the vague terms "minor fixes" with no way to find out what that means. The ABS and traction control system in my 2014 Toyota Prius 4 are not functioning. They ABS light an the traction control lights are both on. That means either the brake booster has failed or the master cylinder is leaking. I contacted Gosche Toyota in H
... emet and after waiting for a service writer to contact me (which they never did) I called 5 times till I finally got someone on the phone. They were very familiar with the problem. The problem is so common that SOME vehicles have been recalled. But for others like mine only a "Customer Support Program" was made. That program covers repair "if the parts are available" only for 10 years or 150,000 miles whichever comes first. But for someone like myself who has 170,000 miles Toyota says there's nothing they can do. The cost for me to repair it is $4800. The customer support program bulletin "ZJB" even says that service writers are not allowed to tell customers about the problem or the customer support program. That way when the car doesn't meet the requirements, they won't be responsible for the repairs, even though they know it will eventually fail. There is a lawsuit somewhere regarding this very same problem but for me, I'm screwed. I depend on my car to make money and now me and my family are out of a car. This is a known defect and a safety concern. Toyota is okay with leaving us with nothing.Read more

Engine, transmission/propulsion and or fuel system is impacted. Vehicle loses power and pressing the throttle doesn’t increase the engine rpms and or vehicle speed. I’ve had a few instances o

On the freeway when it happens the vehicle doesn’t cross 60mph hour. It’s very delayed, and then if I cycle the throttle or change gears or downshift manually it’s jump 2000-3000 rpms and would still struggle to get past 80mph. I bought my vehicle in MI, noticed these issues on my current trip to FL. I intend to have a MI dealer diagnose it. Seems difficult without a check engine light or DTC.Read more

I told him that I would wait on the car, and proceeded to their customer waiting room. Once they were done, they tell me that the cost would be $175.88!!! I asked for what??? He tells me that because I have 39,747 miles and it is outside the the 36,000 mile warranty that this is what it cost for a diagnostic. I said, you never said the price!!! I had no idea that it would cost this much just for you to tell me this. He strong-armed me on the price. I then asked to speak to his manager (which I did not get his name) and the manager then said the same thing. I was so frustrated at how I strong-armed on this price. Deandre never stated the price. The fire department extinguished the fire and a police report was filed. The guardrail, cable system, and a wooden road post were damaged due to the accident. Due to the extent of the fire, it was unknown if the air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the investigators could not determine the exact cause of the crash but believed that it was likely that the contact's daughter fell asleep; the contact contests the investigator's findings. Upon his investigation, the contact discovered that owners of previous year model vehicles had reported that the air bag and seat belt pretensioners had failed to operate in the event of a crash. We recently purchased a used 2020 Subaru Legacy sedan with ~33,000 miles on it. It has a salvage title due to previous owner hitting a deer, (no air bag deployed, just minor body work) and it was professionally repaired to "like-new" condition. Last weekend, when starting the car, the check engine light and a bunch of other warning lights came on. An OBDI scan showed a code of "P263A" indicatin
... g a problem with the Thermo Control Valve. As a result of the defective TCV, several major functions of the vehicle were automatically disabled: adaptive cruise control, eyesight system with lane keeping, automatic braking, as well as all cabin heating, windshield defrost function, and the engine temperature gauge. Without these systems properly working, the drivability of the vehicle is greatly impaired, especially in a Minnesota winter without a functional windshield defrost and engine temperature monitoring gauge. When taking the car into the local Subaru dealership for full diagnostics, they confirmed that indeed the TCV was bad, and quoted me a cost of $1135 to replace it. They claimed that since the car has a salvage title, Subaru's warranty will not cover any part of this repair. However, there is a known wide-spread failure of this Thermo Control Valve in the 2019-2021 cars as listed in Subaru Technical Bulletin [XXX] which clearly states that there is a redesigned TCV that replaces the defective earlier part and fixes the earlier design flaws of the one installed in 2019-2021 vehicles. I spoke with the Subaru of America Client Advocacy representative, and he was adamant that the salvage title negates any responsibility for Subaru to fix this know defectively designed Thermo Control Valve. My thinking is that the defective TCV is both a drivability and a safety issue, and due to the wide-spread early life failure of this part, Subaru should be compelled by a recall to replace the defective car in all customer cars. All ADAS is affected by a bad TCV. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMRead more

A friend gave me this seat to use. I remembered from when I owned this type of seat previously that there was a recall. I saw online that this seat was included in the recall. The prior owner must not have contacted the company to receive the kit. I contacted the company on 12.20.23 and spoke with a male representative who told me several things that conflicted with the notice I read from the NHTS
... A and on Diono's website. Specifically, he stated the issue is only for those with lap belt only installation and does not affect any installation with a lap-shoulder belt as most vehicles have. He also advised that the chest clips were only included with the kit because "those wear out." I questioned chest clips wearing out less than 3 years after an item was manufactured, when the company states that the car seat has a 10 year life span. The NHTSA Recall Report 17C-003 states on Page 4, "Chest clip will be changed to IMMI design and will be used for all modes." It goes on to say, "Owners will be offered a free kit with updated instruction manual, labels, an energy absorbing pad to be used in the harness mode for type 1 (lap belt only) installations up to 65 pounds, and a new IMMI chest clip." Because of this conflict, I asked for this information to be in writing, and the representative referred me to the company's website, which says, "If you have any of the recalled models, you should immediately contact our dedicated Customer Care team at this toll-free number 1-855-463-4666 for a Remedy Kit." The representative stated nobody else was available to speak to when I requested someone else because he was giving information that conflicted with the company's website. I asked for a call back, and he said they would call or email, depending on their availability. However, it is clear that the company is not taking responsibility in providing this kit, making this car seat unsafe for use.Read more
