My car slowed, smelled hot, and then transmission overheat light came on approximately 130 miles from my home. I had it towed to nearest Kia service due to my warranty, Lehighton Kia dealer by AAA (Kia roadside wanted $293). Dealer claimed it was Clutch Actuator (said nothing about recall) and claim to be attempting to confirm warranty with Zurich for days with no success, I had no issue calling

They could not offer me a loaner or rental. Last night I received Recall notice SC276 for the exact issue I am dealing with. In 4 calls to Lehighton Kia this recall was never mentioned. I bought my car in March with 31,000 with the best extended warranty I could buy to protect myself as a recent widow with a daughter in college. My car now has 52,000 and is not usable indefinitely, I cannot afford a rental and I work 35 miles away and feel that the Lehighton Kia has been less than helpful in dealing with this issue.Read more

Finally the service manager tells me it’s the torque converter and will cost $3225 but Ford does not have any torque converters available and they are in a nationwide background free with no eta on when they will manufacture anymore! Not even Autozone or auto part stores have this torque converter! So I have to either replace my whole transmission or buy a new car! My car is not old and still have a significant amount on my car loan so it makes trading it in super hard! This is unacceptable! So I’m supposed to ride around with my car not only not switching gears correctly but the more I drive it the more I risk the transmission locking up on me in the middle of the highway and Ford has no fix for a problem that they created! The engine timing is wrong. The camshaft and the reluctor misalign and cause the engine to loose performance. The problem was diagnosed by a Chevrolet dealership because of the illuminated "check engine" light. This seems to be a major historical issue with these type engines produced by Chevrolet. I was at the post office on Redwood Road in South Jordan, in the dropoff mailbox lane. At the end of the lane is stop sign. The stop sign is for the traffic coming into and leaving the post office. I was sitting at the stop sign when I turned east towards Redwood Road, as I was pulling up behind a blue SUV, the Frontier lurched forward and the RPM’s rev’d all the way up and the truck shot fo

With the second impact the airbags exploded and the Frontier continued east bound across the remaining lanes of north/south traffic heading towards a house across from the post office. I had both feet on the brake trying to stop the Frontier, and in the end the only thing I could think to do is put it into park, so I grabbed the shifter and slammed it into park, effectively stopping the Frontier from plowing into the house. Guideline answers: 1. I experienced Sudden Unintended Acceleration, not sure what the failure is, except the brakes would not work and the vehicle would not stop. 2. Since I wouldn't stop, I hit two vehicles, and a man broke his sternum. Somebody, including myself could have been seriously injured or worse killed. 3. No, I can't get anyone to inspect the black box! I have tried many, many, times!!! 4. No warnings! I have correspondence, pictures, etc., but this form will not allow me to upload. While driving on active roadways (including major highways during rush hour, a major downtown city at intersections with crosswalks during rush hour, and while exiting a parking garage), the vehicle suddenly stops, sounds a brief alarm and flashes one of 3 error messages on the dash board ("Shift to Drive", "....to shift", "...vehicle must be stopped"), while the "D" on the dashboard and the shift
... er flash (with the vehicle still in the "Drive" position). On one occasion, an additional message requested to turn the vehicle on. To resolve the issue in the moment, the vehicle must be shifted up to "Park", then brought back down to "Drive". Once returning to back to the "Drive" position, the vehicle resumes operation. The auto start had been turned off for at least most of these events. The stopping while actively driving has happened on 5 separate occasions and has been brought to 2 different Jeep dealers on 3 different occasions (totaling approximately 2 weeks) to try to identify the issue. Both dealerships have been unable to replicate the malfunction and have been unable to identify an error code. There has been no advisement by Jeep Corporation other than to keep driving the vehicle and video record the event if it is safe to do so (I was able to obtain 2 videos). The events have happened in the months of June, November, and December, and in the morning, mid-day, and afternoon, and when both accelerating and decelerating. There does not appear to be any particular condition preceding the failure. A vehicle suddenly stopping on the highway places myself and others on the road at risk of a serious accident, as does the vehicle failing at an intersection in a major city. There was a massive Ford recall for this make and model with the exact same failed part, but for some reason Ford decided to not include my vehicle in this recall, despite it having the failure. This is a very expensive repair, and at this point in the vehicles life basically renders it a total loss. This should be remedied by Ford for all vehicles with this part.Read more

My RAM truck stalled about 2 months ago. When towed it to the dealer they diagnosed a high pressure fuel pump failure which was due to an open recall. I had attempted to take care of the recall multiple times but I was told that the part was not available yet. ... ible to get a rental car while the truck is waiting for repair. This should not happen. The truck is 2 years old. It was obviously due to a faulty factory part. If I could get a loaner vehicle for the duration of the repair this situation would be more tolerable. Instead, countless phone calls and emails and still no loaner vehicle. I will never buy Chrysler again in my life and will discourage as many of my colleagues to do the same. It's embarrassing how Chrysler does not care about its customers. I'm also still making payments for a truck that continues to be at a dealer for over two months now without a near end in sight.Read more

The vehicle was being driven normally on city street and I heard a thump in the rear end of the vehicle. Very soon after, got a message on screen to check electrical charging system with the indicator lights for 12 volt battery and EV system illuminating. Parked the vehicle a kilometer after thump to deliver something to a friend (the car sat for 10 minutes). Resumed driving and then within a ki
... lometer received a message that drive power would be limited -- significant decline in drive power... put my flashers on but did not stop because on busy street with no parking ... within two blocks, message of "stop vehicle and check power supply" appeared with full drive power ending within one block -- within that block, I was able to turn down a side street and coast down a hill to a parking lot. Attempting to turn vehicle off, the screen showed erratic behavior and headlights went on and off. Finally, was able to get everything off but was not able to lock the vehicle. If this drastic loss of power had occurred on a highway, there is a likelihood that such a power failure would have led to an accident.Read more
