The air bag light came on in April of 2022 indicating that the air bag will not deploy in the event of a car accident. We took the car to the Honda dealership and the mechanic diagnosed it as a bad seat-belt tensioner and confirmed that the part is under warranty by American Honda. The dealership requested the part from American Honda and they have failed to provide the part to the dealership stat
... ing that is is not available. They have given us ETAs for the part but it has never arrived. We requested a rental car to drive while waiting for the part but were denied by both American Honda and the dealership. American Honda's response is that the car just should not be driven. We cannot sell the car while this light in on but need to continue to drive the car for work. The air bag light remains on and still will not deploy if an accident were to occur causing a significant safety risk. We have not involved police or insurance representatives or any other outside parties aside from American Honda and the dealership. We spoke with a representative,at American Honda today who again confirmed that they do not have the part, do not have an ETA on the part and will not pay for a safe vehicle to drive. Considering the amount of time that has elapsed, they are clearly in violation of their warranty.Read more

Driving in traffic this afternoon, I was turning right at a controlled intersection. I stopped my car during the turn before entering the stream of right-bound traffic. Abruptly my steering wheel was frozen: I was unable to turn the steering wheel and the car would not drive forward. There had been a dash warning light on with the message: 'Steering Assist Reduced!'. This message had been coming o

I called 911 and requested assistance. I got out of my car to open the "frunk" lid to alert drivers that my vehicle was disabled. I got back into the car. At some point during the 5-10 minutes that I was stopped, I re-entered my code and put the car back in drive mode and suddenly the steering wheel worked and I was able to drive home (about 2 miles). The tire is a Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season and the size is: 255/45 R20. While driving on the freeway, I heard weird sound and the tire blowout suddenly causing dangerous movement of the car to the right and left and the car speed decreased quickly to 18 mph with no possibility to increase the speed (looks like this is a safety measure that is taken automatically by the car's computer in such c

The police came and inspected the tire that was in pieces and he didn't want me to wait for AAA for towing the car as the place it stopped was risky. So, he ordered a towing truck that arrived after around 20 minutes and towed the car to the nearest car's dealer which was close at that time. I left the car and keys. They called me after and the lady said that most probably for a certain reason the air pressure inside the tire became low and the tire blowout due to that. I leased a Tesla Model 3 on [XXX] in Tampa, Florida On [XXX] the car went into Sudden Unintended Acceleration as I was coming out of a "Hold" at a Yield sign where I was at a complete stop waiting for traffic to fully clear for a right hand turn onto a two lane street. I was coming off of [XXX] onto [XXX] in St. Petersburg, Florida. As I started the turn, the Tesla tossed me onto the curb and alo
... ng a pedestrian sidewalk at high speed. I tried to brake, but the car continued plowing towards a traffic sign that I avoided hitting by making a hard left to try to get back onto the street. Instead of returning me to the street and my lane, the Tesla threw me left across two lanes of traffic, over a grass divider, and into two lanes of oncoming traffic heading straight for a head on collision. At this point, the steering wheel went out, was completely unresponsive and just kept spinning around. The brake was still not responding. I kept spinning the wheel towards the right until at the last minute the car sped back onto the correct side of the road where I was abruptly and without any kind of a jolt, able to regain control of the car: the brake responded and the steering wheel stopped spinning. I then drove at a speed of about 20 miles an hour to the closest residential street. After stopping to gather my wits for about half an hour, I slowly drove home with the emergency lights on and parked it in the parking lot. The Tesla had damage to the front and undercarriage. The Tesla's steering wheel pulled to the right. I did not get into that Tesla again and demanded that they tow the car away and warn others that it is a death trap. They towed the car. I am never getting into any other Tesla again for as long as I live. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I took my Escape to the Dealership for routine oil change and tire rotation. (almost 43000 miles). I received a call from Dealership that I had "swollen lug nuts" and to rotate my tires these needed to be changed. I had never heard of such a thing. My Significant Other had not either and he spoke to the Dealership Representative who said that this was true and that in order to rotate tires the lug
... nuts required changing. The Representative said they had them in stock and the cost would be around $180.00. We decided to investigate further and deferred the change at that time. After discussing with another repair shop and reading about other issues with Ford vehicle, dodge, and a few Toyota we ascertained this was an issue. I took my Escape to the other Repair shop and had the lug nuts changed for $110.00. It appears to me that this has been an issue previously and class action suit was filed and dismissed. This appears to be a problem that can lead to bigger problems if not corrected. ie swollen lug nut car has flat tire, tire cannot be changed due to special equipment required to change flat, all resulting in car being towed to appropriate dealership for change out of lug nuts. I bought a Ford product promoted as being a Quality product. How can this be if the lug nuts do not withstand 43000 miles and the vehicle being in a garage at all times when not in use, then develops this problem. I see potential for major safety issues if this is not corrected by potential injury to the driver of a vehicle with this issue and to the vehicle if a flat should occur and unable to change flat tire. Please review and advise . Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Luckily, there was no one next to me and no one else in the car with me. No one got hurt. If it wasn’t for that “safety” feature, my car wouldn’t have been damaged. This reports a recurring Safety Restraint System (SRS) airbag warning light issue for no apparent reason other than potentially defective components. Please investigate this! Any issues with the SRS system of a vehicle by default puts the safety of the vehicle's passengers at risk. The SRS airbag warning light first turned on randomly in June 2023 and remained on for a few weeks every time the ca
... r was on or being driven. (I am the second owner of the car, and this happened a year after purchase; I do not know if the original owners also had issues with this SRS warning light.) This SRS warning light turned itself off randomly a few weeks later. I had scheduled with a Hyundai Service Dept. to diagnose the issue for the price of $184.50 but ended up cancelling since the SRS light turned itself off 2 weeks before my appointment. The rough phone estimate by this Hyundai Service Dept. said that depending on if it is a sensor, control module, or something else, it could cost between $500 to $3000 to resolve. I was told that an issue with the SRS would not be investigated/covered by the manufacturer original warranty. (But SRS is a non-maintainable system so should work properly for the lifetime of the vehicle.) The SRS airbag warning light remained off until on Dec. 22, 2023, when it turned on again randomly. It stayed on again (anytime the car was on or being driven) for a few days then turned off randomly again. The SRS airbag warning light turned on again 1/26/24, then turned off on again on 1/29/24. It turned on AGAIN on 1/30/24 and is still on (2/1/24). This recurring SRS light issue indicates an urgent, underlying issue with the SRS system that has occurred randomly, without warning or reason, to my vehicle and to others with this vehicle according to this NHTSA web site. This SRS warning light issue suggests that the SRS system may not be working properly and could case the airbags to deploy incorrectly, or not deploy when needed, which is unacceptable.Read more

I decided to take my first road trip in the new Telsa Model 3. The trip was from Seattle to Portland down [XXX] which is a pretty straight and easy road. Because of this I decided to use the Autopilot feature (I purchased the FSD package) to help take the stress out of driving. (Note, this is my first Electric Vehicle AND even my first vehicle with a screen, so I stayed very aware and present the
... whole time driving with hands on wheel). After a while of driving I noticed the 'Arrow' icon on the maps, which indicates my car, wasn't centered on the road and was in fact about quarter to half an inch to the right of the road. I didn't think much of it as I've seen my Google maps do this before and after a little bit it readjust and fixes it. As the car was driving, it performed a SUDDEN deceleration and then put on the blinkers to turn left (which I'm on the interstate so there was no left turn). What I noticed was that because the icon on the map wasn't centered on the road, it thought I was off the side of it. When it came up to a side street, it then thought I was on the side street. Thus it rapidly slowed me down to the side street speed limit (35 mph vs the 70 on the interstate), and then thought it needed to turn left to get on to an on-ramp to get me back on the interstate highway. Luckily I was able to catch it in time, but I had to fight with the blinkers for almost a full minute to get them to turn off. After this happened again several more miles down the road, I decided to manually drive the rest of the way. Once I got to a charging station and powered the car off and on, the icon then was centered on the road again. I have noticed a few times since, that it 'gets confused' on what road I'm on and it is concerning that this has a lot of control over the car. It would be great to have a manual way to tell the map that I am currently on which road so it can then note that.
