There is an intermittent shift to park message that appears when the vehicle had been shifted into park and the ignition has been turned to off position. I bought a 2023 FORD EXPEDITION MAX LIMITED for business purposes as a livery vehicle. I drive about 5000 miles a month. Problem 1: From the day I bought this vehicle from ford dealer in GJOVIK FORD in PLANO IL I hear kicks and clunks under my feet (most likely faulty transmission). Problem 2: After I did my first oil change I had driven about 2500 miles when the cars engine light came on and I take it to the dealer and they found that the engine oil was too low. They did an oil consumption test and the test shows 1 quart of oil lost for every 1500 miles driven. They find no oil leaks. I'm using full synthetic oil from the dealer. This is unreasonable. Problem 3: The car smells some sort exhaust fumes in the vehicle when I drive for about 30 minutes or more. The first few thousands miles the car would smell a little fumes here and there but now its more constant the longer you drive it. I paid close to $80k for this vehicle. The least I expect is for the car to operate normal. Ford has cheated me out alot of money as I have not received what I have paid for and I am not enjoying it at all. While driving the car, the glass sunroof spontaneously exploded. It was NOT associated with a rock strike, no other cars were nearby, and the vehicle was not under an overpass. I was concerned that this warning pops up: "The vehicle will not automatically apply the brakes even when a collision is detected" (see photo) but he suggested I try it to see if it would solve the cruise-control braking. I was hopeful, and disabled it, knowing that it might take a while to know if that solved the problem. I drove the 30 miles home on the frontage road instead of the interstate, and when there were no other cars around, I set cruise control at 50 mph, the speed limit. I came to a series of small hills in the road, and was reminded of the first time the automatic braking happened, on a 60 mph road with longer amplitude hills of greater height. Amazingly, it happened again! Pretty significant braking and slowed me to 25. This time I waited it out to see if it would resume the cruise control at 50. It did not. I have since restored the Automatic Emergency Braking as that seems important for a crash situation. I have restored the "Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited" since that obviously was not the problem either.Read more

... . It was extremely challenging for the driver to maintain control. The dealership confirmed the engine will not turn over, they removed the oil filter and examined the oil sample from it. The sample showed signs of metal, a clear indication of an internal failure. The procedure now is to order a new engine, radiator, oil cooler lines and all one time use components of the fuel injection rails all seals, gaskets and bolts required by General Motors. In addition, the emergency braking system did not engage. The onstar system emailed me the night before a clean bill of health with their diagnostic app. There were also no check engine lights prior to using the vehicle. Our use of the vehicle has been impaired, the market value has dropped, and there are obvious safety concerns in placing my family in this vehicle. My research online indicates this is a known issue, however no safety recall has been issued. Police arrived on scene to assist in tow. Police station was Boxford, MA.
