I HAVE RECEIVED TWO SAFETY RECALL LETTERS FROM SUZUKI DETAILING A PROBLEM WITH MY AIRBAG SYSTEM THAT MATCHES A PROBLEM THAT I HAVE HAD WITH THE CAR FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS. MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ILLUMINATED. WHEN I RECEIVED THE FIRST RECALL LETTER, I TOOK MY CAR TO A SUZUKI DEALERSHIP. THEY CONFIRMED THE DEFECT, BUT TOLD ME THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE GENERATED BY THEIR TEST DID NOT MATCH THE ONE
... THAT SUZUKI HAS SAID THAT THEY ARE COVERING. THE ISSUE IS THE SAME, AND THE FIX IS THE SAME. THE ISSUE CAN BE RESOLVED BY REPLACING A DEFECTIVE COMPONENT IN THE SEAT CUSHION. THIS APPARENTLY REQUIRES THAT THE ENTIRE SEAT BE REPLACED AT A COST OF AROUND $1000. I HAVE CALLED SUZUKI SEVERAL TIMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET A RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM, BUT THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE REPAIR. I AM REFUSING TO REPAIR THE ISSUE MYSELF SINCE IT SHOULD BE COVERED, AND I HAVE NO GUARANTEE THAT I CAN BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR CHARGES. I AM RIGHT NOW RESEARCHING MY LEGAL OPTIONS FOR THIS MATTER SINCE I CANNOT GET SUZUKI TO PAY TO HAVE THE DEFECT REPAIRED.
