Recall work was performed by dealer for EVAP pipe. Insulative repair was used because pipe had not worn through. This was advised to me from dealer that performed recall work. 1st incident Fall 2023 Approaching a stop sign, decelerating from 30mph I pressed on the brake to complete the stop but the engine roared, RPMs revved, & the vehicle accelerated, better it lurched, forward. I mashed down the brake pedal as hard as I could but it would not stop the vehicle. All I could do was put it into park. Happens almost weekly, at least 7 times, but not predictably. Once in
... December, I was approaching a four way stop sign around 3:30pm, I had been driving the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes & the weather was good (no ice, partly cloudy, roads clear & dry). As I came to the stop sign, pressing the brake the final time to complete the stop, it roared loudly, the RPMs jumped high, and the vehicle surged forward through the intersection. I let off the brake and tried to smash it down again, but it wouldn’t go to the floor (only a mild decompression) so I powered through the intersection, thank God no one was coming. I didn’t pull over or turn the vehicle off, I continued going my way home. 15 minutes later, turning into my driveway the brakes worked normally, like nothing had happened. [XXX] I took it to a Honda dealership. They upgraded the transmission & flushed the transmission lines three times. They were unable to replicate the issue & could not detect any codes or communication of an issue in the system. I took it home with no answers. [XXX] I was approaching a stoplight to turn left. I was driving, my brother was in the passenger seat. Weather conditions were good: clear skies, no ice/rain/snow, roads dry & clear. I had been driving the vehicle for less than 10 minutes & I had given it ~ 5 minutes to “warm up” since it’s Minnesota. I met a stop sign w/o issue, but then as I approached a nearby stoplight it surged forward just like before. I pressed the brake to complete the stop, the engine roaring so loudly my brother said “it’s gonna blow up!” Back to Honda dealership on [XXX]. Still no resolution. I am writing to urgently address a safety issue I have encountered with my 2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel VIN: [XXX] vehicle, which poses a significant risk to myself and others on the road. I purchased my 2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel in 2018. Regrettably, I have faced persistent problems with crankshaft bearing failures, resulting in engine failure on two occasions – first at 70,000 miles and subsequently
... after another 70,000 miles. Both instances necessitated engine replacements. The location of the truck is Ron Carter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram League City at Address 3535 Gulf Fwy, League City, TX 77573. During the initial replacement, a rebuilt or used engine was installed per Chrysler's directive, which was stated to carry a three-year warranty. However, despite being within this warranty period, the dealership has declined to honor the warranty claim for the second engine failure. Beyond the financial strain this has imposed on my family, there is a grave safety concern associated with these repeated engine failures. The sudden loss of engine power while driving poses a significant risk on the road, creating unsafe conditions. I have experienced instances where the engine stopped abruptly, causing a near-collision due to the loss of power. I am reaching out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to highlight this safety issue and to request your urgent assistance in addressing this matter. These repeated engine failures not only jeopardize my safety but also that of other motorists on the road. I implore the NHTSA to investigate this matter promptly to prevent potential accidents and ensure the safety of all drivers who might be affected by similar issues in these vehicles. I am open to providing additional details, and documentation, or participating in any investigations necessary to address this critical safety concern. I can be reached at [XXX] or [XXX] to discuss this matter further. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the significant reliability issues I have encountered with my 2019 Honda Odyssey. Unfortunately, these issues have led to inconveniences, unexpected expenses, and a reevaluation of my trust in the vehicle's long-term dependability. During the warranty period, the vehicle suffered from water infiltration in the trunk, resulting in flooding. Addressi
... ng this problem required multiple interventions by the dealership. Post-warranty, an electrical/electronic component related to the liftgate module malfunctioned, leading to an unforeseen repair that cost upwards of $800+. Subsequently, the vehicle experienced recurring starting problems, necessitating jump-starts on multiple occasions. Most recently, a complete failure to start occurred, requiring towing to the dealership, which unfortunately happened while away from home. Extensive diagnostics revealed the necessity to reprogram the BCM (Body Control Module) to resolve the issue. The repetitive and varied nature of these issues, especially for a four-year-old vehicle, raises concerns about the reliability and quality standards associated with the Honda Odyssey. These recurring inconveniences and unexpected expenses have compelled me to reconsider recommending this vehicle to friends and family. Of particular concern is the possibility of experiencing a breakdown in remote areas during extended trips. The prospect of being stranded with my family in such situations is troubling and potentially unsafe. Urgent attention to resolving these issues is crucial to avoid any untoward incidents for myself or other Odyssey owners. While I have raised my concerns with Honda, I am also contemplating sharing this experience with the NHTSA. The uncertainty surrounding potential future issues while driving has led me to consider selling this vehicle. I believe it's essential to document these concerns for the safety and awareness of others who might face similar situations.Read more

Before taking the vehicle to the inspection appointment, I researched the news article and found it to be accurate.
