This is my son's vehicle, purchased by me in January 2025. He attends a college 110 miles from home in PA. As the warmer/hot weather came along in 2025, he was experiencing random scary situations of the car just going into "limp mode" while driving 70 - 75 mph on [XXX]. No warning indicators, no dash lights. No acceleration, couldn't maintain speed, bogged down to 15 mph until he pulled over and
... turned off the car. It scared him of course, but sadly this became his summertime travel ritual when traveling to and from college. Every trip in 87°< temperatures, a 2-3 time limp mode was in store. I realized in June of 2025 that this problem doesn't throw any DTCs when it happens and because sometimes he didn't wait long enough to clear the limp mode, I had him disconnecting the negative battery cable then reattaching it in order to clear the resident memory to get him going right away. I went a step further and installed gate switch on the negative battery post so he could just lift the hood, break the circuit with the gate arm and put it back down. I write this today because the car's 1st episodes for 2026 was on a similar mileage trip home, however it was only 82°. The CVT fluid has been changed, the level is correct and his driving habits appear to be in line with GPS ETAs vs. his actual arrival times. I went down the rabbit hole regarding the 2013 Kizashi TCM recall and I truly believe the defective TCMs they found have been around for some time before the 2013 Model year. He loves his car, but the car is putting him at risk as well as the driving public around him EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS. My 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat has a door latch defect that occurs in freezing or near-freezing temperatures. The failure occurs without warning in cold conditions, causing the door latch to freeze and not fully engage. When this happens, the door is able to freely swing open while the vehicle is in motion and also freely open when the vehicle is parked. This creates a serious safety hazard, including
... the risk of occupant ejection and loss of vehicle control. The vehicle has no aftermarket modifications and is maintained per manufacturer recommendations. The issue is temperature-dependent and has occurred on multiple occasions. Ford has issued recalls for similar door latch freezing defects on multiple other Ford vehicles and model years. Despite this, my vehicle has not been included, even though it exhibits the same failure mode. This defect presents a significant safety risk and should be investigated for potential recall inclusion.Read more

While driving at highway speeds, my 2025 Nissan Pathfinder suddenly loses power and enters limp mode with no warning. The dashboard displays: “Engine Malfunction – Power Reduced – Service Now.” When this happens, the vehicle cannot accelerate and struggles to maintain speed, creating a serious safety hazard in traffic. This has occurred multiple times. First time was on January 6th - enter
... ed highway and car stalled, was able to pull over and have the car towed to the dealer and they stated, "cannot replicate the issue". Second time February 15th - car stalled on highway and Husband was able to pull over and restart the car. Third time was February 18th - car entered limp mode on the highway, car was towed to the dealer and they have yet again stated, "cannot replicate the issue". During each event, the Pathfinder rapidly decelerates, and I am forced to pull over immediately to avoid being hit from behind. The loss of propulsion happens suddenly and without any driver input. This places me and other drivers in danger, especially at high speeds and on icy Alaska roads. Two of the times was during snowstorms with low visibility. Attempts to Repair: I have taken the vehicle to the Nissan dealership. The dealer states they “cannot replicate the issue” and returns the vehicle without repair. However, the warning message and limp-mode event clearly indicate an engine or powertrain failure. The issue continues to reoccur despite these visits. Safety Concern: Because the vehicle loses power in fast-moving traffic and enters limp mode, it poses a substantial risk of collision or injury. This defect could cause a serious accident, especially at highway speeds or in winter driving conditions.Read more

The airbag system defect light went on and stayed on. The diagnosis from an authorized former Suzuki dealer (Lincoln of Wayne, Wayne, New Jersey), charging approximately $270 for the diagnosis, was that the occupant sensing pad including the bottom seat on the passenger side had failed. This particular part had already been replaced under an NHTSA-related safety recall campaign approximately thr

Contacting Suzuki headquarters in California, I found that they were saying the replacement part needed is not in stock and if it were in stock, they would be charging approximately $2700 for the part not including installation. Please contact Suzuki of America and have them produce more of the part and fund a campaign to replace the faulty replacement parts. Thank you.Read more

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. While operating the vehicle, the vehicle was shaking abnormally while idling, while low on fuel, while driving long distances, or while driving uphill. The vehicle shut off unexpectedly intermittently. On several occasions, the RPM increased; however, the vehicle failed to respond, and the vehicle eventually stalled. The accelerator pedal was depressed to the fl
... oorboard, but the vehicle failed to respond. The brake pedal became firm. The contact stated that the vehicle stopped and restarted several times or shut down unintendedly. After refueling, the contact had to wait for approximately 2 to 10 minutes before the vehicle responded as needed. Occasionally, the contact had to wait for over an hour before the vehicle was restarted. The check engine warning light illuminated intermittently and later turned off. While depressing the accelerator pedal, the engine revved excessively without the vehicle responding as needed. An abnormal sound was coming from the vehicle. The Oxygen sensor error code was displayed. The failure persisted over time. The vehicle was previously repaired at an unknown dealer under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). Additionally, the high-pressure fuel pump was replaced. The local dealer was not contacted regarding the current failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.Read more

whinning noise during acceleration on the road and gear shift problems
Incident date: Jan 3, 2026
While attempting a left-hand turn across two lanes of oncoming traffic, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of motive power. Upon acceleration, the 10R80 transmission slipped out of gear, causing the engine RPMs to spike (rev) without transferring power to the wheels. This left the vehicle momentarily stationary in the path of oncoming traffic, nearly resulting in a broadside collision
... . After a delay, the transmission violently engaged, causing the vehicle to lunge forward with enough force to spin the tires and nearly cause a loss of steering control. There were no prior warning lights, "limp mode" indicators, or messages on the dashboard before or during the failure. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership, where technicians confirmed a failure internal to the 10R80 transmission. The service department stated this is a "known issue" with this transmission model and recommended a full replacement. This failure represents a significant safety hazard due to the unpredictable loss of power in high-stakes driving situations.Read more

• What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The plastic fuel tank failed and developed a leak. Yes, the tank is available for inspection upon request. • How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? A leaking fuel tank poses a serious fire and explosion hazard, especially when the vehicle is operating or parked near heat sour
... ces. Gasoline fumes were noticeable, creating an increased risk of ignition and exposure to toxic vapors. • Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The problem was confirmed by an independent mechanic, who verified the leak in the fuel tank. • Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has not yet been inspected by BMW or other officials. Only an independent mechanic has inspected it so far. • Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. A check engine light appeared shortly before the failure. In addition, a strong smell of gasoline was noticed, followed by visible leaking fuel. There is an open recall on the BMW F30 BMW 320i, production date 2013 to 2018, production dates July 02, 2012 to March 23, 2018 for the “plastic fuel tank.” I own a 2018 BMW 320i, manufactured April 2018 which is not included in the recall for the “plastic fuel tank.” However, I noticed a gasoline smell and the fuel tank is leaking. Upon further research, inspection and after notifying a mechanic, the fuel tank for my vehicle is the exact same one as the plastic fuel tank indicated in the BMW recall. My production date is a week later than the recall production date, but the fuel tank is the same exact fuel tank that has been recalled. The vehicle has developed a serious safety defect in the plastic fuel tank, which is leaking gasoline and emitting fumes.Read more

My car started smelling like gas 10 days ago. There was no visible leak. We took it to the shop still can’t figure out the issues. Took it to pick up my son from school, it started leaking fuel (I had 1/4 of a tank left). I turned off the car and it stopped leaking fuel. Needing a fix quick, I then drove 4 miles to get to the shop. Before I started driving I checked and it said I had enough gas
... to drive 15 miles. However, while at a stop light, the car shuddered and completely died. We then had it towed to the shop and hour away. The dealership had had it since then and found that it was related to the fuel pump suction recall. However, because the problem has gotten so bad, I now need a new fuel tank. Because it will in fact continue to keep leaking fuel and no matter how much gas you put it will just leak out. This is a safety hazard not only for me as a driver but also to other drivers. After diagnosing the problem, the dealership called VW corporate to inquire whether they will cover the fix since the recall was what caused the issue. 10 days later, VW is still looking into it, and I’ve now spent over $1500 on a rental car and towing fees. This car was completely unsafe to drive. And it is completely irresponsible for VW to allow customers to drive an unsafe vehicle and make us pay for repairs for issues that we didn’t cause.Read more

I just bought a Used 2006 Suzuki Reno from a private seller 3 months ago. It has less then 53,000 miles on it so I thought I was getting a great deal. And we almost wrecked head on with each other because when I fli

If I have the low beam lights on when I first turn the lights on they work but go dimmer and dimmer as time goes by. And as soon as I flip the switch whether it's from High beam or low beam it's completely dark. No lights on low beam at all after flipping switch. But they work on high beam. I took it to my mechanic and he said there's a short/problem in the headlight switch/blinker switch on the steering column. I can't/don't drive it at night or anytime after 6pm to be safe. Also my mechanic has had to clear the driver side airbag light that has come on my dashboard 2 times. 1st time he thought it was because the service ingine light came on. I purchased 2017 Lincoln MKC new almost immediately had electrical issues with it that has stayed throughout the vehicles life. At about 55,000 miles my car started acting up like it was misfiring. I took it to Lincoln and twice they said they couldn’t feel anything. I left the car over night because it mainly happened in morning starting up and going a certain speed. Lincoln called me and
... said it was something with transmission and they would fix it. The problem did not get better. At approximately 70,000 miles my engine light came on and I took it to be read. It read cylinder 1 misfire. I changed out my plugs and coils and had light reset. Light came back on at 71,000 engine over heating. I added/filled engine coolant. Light came on off and it was chalked up to an electrical issue they couldn’t find. I have had to refill my coolant several times as it drains quick in sumner heat and I have had to change my plugs and coils again. My car was recently at a Lincoln and they noted my spark plug and coils on the floor. They asked me about the radiator fluid and I explained what has been happening to my car since 55,000 miles. I was told that Lincoln is well aware that this is a problem with the MKC with radiator fluid leaking causing it to leak into out plugs, cause misfire and eventually seize the engine but there has not been a recall, leaving buyers stuck. My issue is that I went to dealership with these problems but was ignored and told it was something else. Lincoln purposly blamed the issue on something else so my warranty would be done and they wouldn’t have to cover the cost. They knew about this issue and purposely pushed it off so they would not be responsible.Read more

#1 I have been completely affected by the KNOWN defect in the Nissan transmissions with the first instance being my on the interstate, 4 hours from home with my child only, and we lost power while driving the interstate. The losing power issue has happened multiple times over the last 5 years and all that I can find online is that Nissan is aware and owners can buy something and have it added to t
... he transmission....if we purchased the vehicle I think Nissan should at least be responsible for the issues with something that they are aware is an issue with the products they sell. I am now putting oil in the car every few weeks because of a leak that there is no explanation of how it happened and will cost a fortune to fix; and most recently I came out of work and when I went to get in my car the handle came off in my hand. I've researched and apparently this too is an issue with Nissan Rogues......Everytime I search for a recall there is nothing for the 2013 Rogue but there are for the ones years prior and after??? Whoever thinks that the perfect line came out in 2013 needs reevaluate their information!!!!Read more
