This letter advised me of the extension of warranty coverage on the rear subframe of my vehicle to 20 years with unlimited mileage cover. I call my local Mercedes dealership where I purchased the vehicle to inquire about the severity of this problem. I specifically

Once I was advised of this I requested an appointment to go in and have the rear sub frame inspected to see exactly where the deterioration stands on this vehicle. In my opinion this is a definite safety concern and should have been classified as a recall rather than just a warranty extension. Over the next 10-15 minutes the suspension became uneven/lopsided and the passenger side wheels were touching the wheel well. I called Rivian service and they said it was not safe to drive and had it towed to the Rivian service center. Rivian service is backlogged and will not be able to inspect and assess the damage until 9/21. Ultimately, I don't think the warnings accurately conveyed the severity of the issue and don't understand why the vehicle would let you drive up to 80mph when rivian service said it was not safe to drive.Read more

For 14 months the truck has been down due to no new parts available from GM and no parts being manufactured in 2022. This has been a substantial impact to me as a consumer. There is a need for new improved parts for this long-standing faulty TCM issue. The lack of recall on this TCM is subjecting consumers to risks of overheating the transmission system as well as incalculable down-time impacts related to personal and business owned trucks. This problem of the faulty TCM on my truck was confirmed by the local auto repair shop I use as well as the local Chevrolet dealership in Delta, CO. The car is still running but the steering wheel is locked and I am unable to push on the gas to move. I ended up getting a tow truck from AAA after 45 mins. my van has been at the Chrysler dealership for a week and they will not do anything about this situation. They say nothing is wrong. There is a current lawsuit in the state of Michigan with multiple Chrysler Pacifica van owners across the US in regards to the transmissions failing, and Chrysler is not doing anything about it. I restarted the car and backed out of my garage. The check engine light was still on. I backed out and tried to drive down my neighborhood street. When I steeped in the accelerator, the engine would race but not engage. Acceleration was problematic so I returned home. Later the same day, I had it towed into a local Toyota service center.
