My parents and I originally bought the car in 2021 with a reconstructed title. We were told the car was deemed totaled/salvaged as the result being rear-ended, and that the mechanical parts of the car were not affected, only cosmetic body work. The vehicle passed Ohio State Highway Patrol inspection and was deemed drivable and road safe. The vehicle is also inspected every year through the West V
... irginia State Police and has not failed when it has been inspected. The transmission in my Spark had already been replaced through GM Program #[XXX] on [XXX] with the previous owner. The transmission had started going out again in September 2023. The codes that my car had thrown were the codes that appear in Special Coverage [XXX] (P0871, P2714, and P0871-00). These were the same codes that were thrown at the time of the original replacement in 2016. Upon doing a full diagnostic of my vehicle, the dealership had agreed with the prior codes listed. However, GM is denying my claim of this coverage due to my reconstructed title. After looking at GM's own website where I had to enter my VIN, the coverage for this adjustment says it is active, and will not expire until my car reaches 120,000 miles, or until January 25, 2025 (10 years after it was placed in service). My car is currently at 113,760 Miles. It does not say anywhere that a reconstructed title will void this coverage. We have spoken to 2 different representatives and a supervisor at GM and they are still denying this claim. Here is the claim number filed through GM #[XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The incident was on a dark highway bypass, with slight left curve, so poor headlights hampered the driver & automatic systems from stopping in time. The headlights angle down (tilts & dims from brights automatically for oncoming cars) instead of illuminating the road properly, neither the driver nor the braking system can detect an object. The regular lights have an abnormally short distance. Only the brights setting illuminates a sufficient braking distance, & those can't be used with oncoming traffic. The headlights have a hard limit on the top, instead of 2 circles of light. The driver, also an engineer, said that the camera needs a certain level of lighting to detect objects, & they probably didn't test these systems together on a dark country road. Normal illumination could have prevented or lessened the damage/danger, swivel headlights would have been best. A driver needs a certain distance illuminated for braking distance at speed, unless the camera is radar or infrared: it needs light too. The front 1/3 of the car was peeled off, causing over $15k in damages. Several body panels ripped off, the wiring harness was ripped out. There were no warnings before the impact. No automatic braking occured. No airbags were deployed. There is a police report. Road was dark, clear and dry. The driver was sober, attentive and going the speed limit. A friend gave me this seat to use. I remembered from when I owned this type of seat previously that there was a recall. I saw online that this seat was included in the recall. The prior owner must not have contacted the company to receive the kit. I contacted the company on 12.20.23 and spoke with a male representative who told me several things that conflicted with the notice I read from the NHTS
... A and on Diono's website. Specifically, he stated the issue is only for those with lap belt only installation and does not affect any installation with a lap-shoulder belt as most vehicles have. He also advised that the chest clips were only included with the kit because "those wear out." I questioned chest clips wearing out less than 3 years after an item was manufactured, when the company states that the car seat has a 10 year life span. The NHTSA Recall Report 17C-003 states on Page 4, "Chest clip will be changed to IMMI design and will be used for all modes." It goes on to say, "Owners will be offered a free kit with updated instruction manual, labels, an energy absorbing pad to be used in the harness mode for type 1 (lap belt only) installations up to 65 pounds, and a new IMMI chest clip." Because of this conflict, I asked for this information to be in writing, and the representative referred me to the company's website, which says, "If you have any of the recalled models, you should immediately contact our dedicated Customer Care team at this toll-free number 1-855-463-4666 for a Remedy Kit." The representative stated nobody else was available to speak to when I requested someone else because he was giving information that conflicted with the company's website. I asked for a call back, and he said they would call or email, depending on their availability. However, it is clear that the company is not taking responsibility in providing this kit, making this car seat unsafe for use.Read more

I had lightly let off my gas pedal since I was driving down a slight decline/hill. Upon reaching the bottom of the decline, I pressed the gas pedal to maintain my speed, when I heard a loud noise from my engine; all the lights on the dash lit up; and my car lost all power. These items happened simultaneously and it was very sudden and unexpected as there were no prior warnings, indications, nois

I had no control of my car and I was completely at the mercy of my car and the road. The electrical system also failed. When my vehicle came to rest, nothing in the car worked. If a child, another vehicle, or animal was stopped in front of me or had pulled out in front of me, my car would have ran right into them. If I was on the hill and this happened, my car could have verved into the ditch and I could have been ejected. My car was towed to a local auto repair shop. The repair shop owner told me that Hyundai/Kai had issued a recall and he felt my engine failed for the same reason. I had my car towed to my Hyundai dealership where it sat for 4 months before they were able to assess it. So the next day I had it towed to the Ford dealer to
... have them look at it and fix the issue. They ended up replacing the rack and pinion and the power steering motor. When I picked the car up I asked the service person if it was a common part that broke on the car and he said it was a common part that broke. I was surprised that they had that specific part in stock when they told me the problem. Also I was not happy that I had to $4,400.00 to fix it. In my mind if it is a common part that breaks then why hasn't been a recall on that part.Read more

Vehicle just turned 11,000 miles. As I was accelerating up a hill, the RPM’s were extremely high and then I heard an awful noise in the engine. The car immediately shut down and overheated. It was determined the turbo chip blew apart causing catastrophic damage to the engine. I ended up needing to hire a lemon law attorney and Nissan bought the vehicle back from me. Nissan refused to compensate
... me for any inconveniences I incurred during the time. I had to pay out of pocket for a tow truck to come get the vehicle off the road because I was stuck on a dangerous corner and the police officers said the car needed to be moved ASAP. I had a trip planned with the vehicle in 2 weeks and ended up having to buy plane tickets instead because the loaner vehicle I had to fight the dealership for said the loaner couldn’t leave New York State. It took me a week to fight the dealership to give me a loaner vehicle. Nissan corporate was terrible to deal with. When I went to turn the vehicle in for the buy back process, the dealership told me they are up to 4 vehicles with the same issue now. It’s the new engine in the 2023 Nissans. This needs to be looked into and Nissan needs to be held accountable.Read more

I was constantly smelling a strong odor of gas coming from the inside/outside of my 2015 Chevy Tahoe. When I purchased the vehicle in 10/23 everything appeared fine. I researched the internet to determine what the problem could be & found dozens of similar situations. People saying the fuel line rubs the undercarriage of the vehicle causing a pin hole size in the fuel line causing it to leak gas.
... Currently my vehicle is in the shop and the problem is TBD.Read more
