Smoke was coming from the bottom corner of the rear sliding window. I immediately shut off rear defrost and then shut my truck off. As I was approaching a T intersection and preparing to stop at the stop sign, I started to apply my brakes when all of a sudden my car accelerated and lunged forward almost into the path of oncoming traffic on the intersecting road. As I had originally started to apply my brake, it felt as if the brake dropped slightly under my foot but, as the car lunged forward, I immediately jammed on the brake
... so I am not 100% sure about that dropping sensation. It all happened within a matter of seconds. Anyway, jamming on the brakes stopped the forward momentum and the car stopped before actually entering the path of an oncoming car. If I had started to brake any closer to the intersection, I may not have had time to stop the car in time to avoid a broadside collision with the oncoming car. I have owned this car about a year and a half and this is the first time anything like this has happened. There was no warning lamps, messages etc at the time or prior to the incident. After the incident, my husband checked online and saw that others have described a similar experience with their Subarus and, apparently, there is an ongoing lawsuit involving this problem. When I would start my car in the morning, it would stall/sputter and make clanking noises. The check engine light came on, and I took it to the dealership for repair. They replaced a fuel injector and then the next day I had the same issue and took it back to the dealership. They replaced another fuel injector and when I got it home and tried to start it a few days later, the same issue persisted.

I continue to experience accelerated severe rear tire wear since my original purchase of this car new in February 2022 on both rear tires (275/45R20). The car has had the alignment specifications confirmed by Tesla. Yet I have had to replace two sets of rear tires in less than 36,000 miles due to the inside edge of both tires being worn through the rubber and into the steel cords of the tires.
... This last set of tires went ~14,000 miles and still had 5/32" tread depth remaining across all treads. This substantial wear is not readily observed by the vehicle operator without crawling under the car. The wear on these tires is indicative of excessive negative camber settings of the suspension. However, TESLA states the rear suspension alignment is within camber specifications at -2.13 to -2.06 degrees. The tires appear road worthy during a casual walk around of the vehicle. I have been fortunate these tires have not experienced a blow out, which at highway speed could have resulted in loss of control of the vehicle. I have retained both removed rear tires. The ABS Module on the vehicle continually go bad. A newly never used one was purchased 2yrs 4 months ago. A genuine Toyota part ($1300) and it has already gone bad. Dealer wanted me to file a claim with my insurance, but car was not driven through rain, high water, or stored in a flooded garage or on a flooded street.
