Loss of acceleration while driving. This has occurred multiple times (always while moving or actively driving). The first time we were driving up a significant hill and the car slowed, lost power and we had to pull over and coast back down the mountain to a repair center. The second time, I was on the freeway and lost acceleration causing me to pull off the road in median. The third time, I was at
... a stoplight and when the light turned green, I had almost no movement after edging into the intersection. Eventually, at about 5 mph, the car regained speed. The check light went on in the first event and the car was supposedly repaired at the second dealership by re-tensioning "pins". However, no lights or warnings went on for incident #2 or #3 that occurred after the earlier repair effort. The vehicle is currently at the dealership service center for it's 7th day of "unable to replicate the problem" after incident #3.Read more

On March 18, 2024, my 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid had just over 1,000 miles on it. That same night, approximately 20 yards before an upcoming stop sign, I got a big red triangle message on the dash saying STOP SAFELY NOW. When I finally got stopped at the STOP sign, everything shut down. No accelerator, now power and the transmission dial locked after I put it in Park. I could not get it in Neut
... ral to push it out of the intersection. Since it is a front wheel drive vehicle, the front wheels locked also. Thank goodness my husband was with me, family members were traveling behind me AND I know a tow truck owner. Tow truck owner came came and used a code reader. It indicated that there were 9 errors related to HYBRID. He was able to clear 6 of them, but the truck still wouldn't start. He had to drag it up onto the flat bed because the front wheel were locked. He towed it to a local Ford Dealership. They initially said the smart junction box (a module that controls the hybrid battery) had a bad circuit and needed to be replaced (I'm not sure if they meant the smart junction box or the circuit...). The next day, the dealership called again and said they replaced the control module for the Hybrid Battery System. I got the truck back on the 4th day with no charge as everything was covered by warranty, including the tow. Overall, I was satisfied with how the dealership handled the issue. However, the incident seems a bad way to start an automobile relationship. In a group forum for Ford Maverick Hybrid Owners, I met a man who said the same thing happened to him on the highway! The vehicle slowed so quickly he was almost rear-ended by a tractor trailer. If it had to happen to me, I'm glad it happened on a rural back road vs. the four lane highway where I commute approximately 300 miles over 5 days per week. That's my concern - I am worried the same thing might happen to me on the highway with different results than the first time!Read more

I noticed a strong burning smell similar to burning toast when the car was dropped off at the shop. My Mechanics noticed my ABS Control Unit had liquid coming out of the poorly sealed module, and told me to report this to the NTSHA. The unit had to be replaced for about $3800. The first symptom is the ESC Light flashing while driving. Others include the AWD Light, Brake Light, ABS Light, and, Traction Control Lights. On many forums like the link shown below other people have experienced this issue on the 2008 Hyundai Veracruz as well. This indicate that the recall should be pushed to ALL Veracruz models. ... ccording to mechanics. Head mechanic at dealership confirmed that only car modification (intake) would not cause catastrophic loss of oil leading to bearing failure, and thus it is likely due to engine design that leads to poor oil circulation as a known issue in this EJ25 engine type. Engine components have been inspected by Carter Subaru, and have been made available to Subaru of America, along with images, videos, pictures, receipts, logs, records, computer/ECU data, receipts, tool purchases, and other maintenance and service logs for the car (including prior to ownership). Dealership acknowledges that the car maintenance exceeded the manufacturer recommendation, yet engine still failed even with oil changes done at 3,000 mile intervals... While manual states much higher interval to follow. Engine still failed at increased oil change levels. Problem appeared once engine started knocking, which means the engine has already suffered irreversible engine failure and needs to be replaced, according to Subaru. Subaru of America assigned a customer advocate but has been incommunicado for the duration of the investigation and refuses to answer or even acknowledge that a claim has been opened, as they constantly cite erroneous interactions with the vehicle owner.Read more

My Fisker Ocean One has experienced multiple ADAS issues including lane departure not working, emergency braking failing regularly producing multiple warning lights, regenerative braking shutting off causing the vehicle to speed up or roll away. My road is a steep downhill to my house then a left into the drive. As I was slowly pulling into the driveway the vehicle jerked violently many times as if it was trying to stop but couldn't. I was not applying the brakes, but letting off the accelerator for the regenerative function to slow the car. When the jerking occurred I tried to brake and the brake pedal did not respond. The vehicle finally locked the wheels and came to a stop. Many warning lights came on rapidly. The message I saw was a braking fault then the car died and all screens shut off. I was half way in the road and now in front of an oncoming vehicle. I couldn't get it to start up. Fortunately the oncoming vehicle slowed and crept around me. My Fisker Ocean the rebooted itself and I was able to get it into the garage. I have under 2700 miles on it. This update 2.0 was promised to fix many of these issues and now put myself and others in danger. I suspect it was the hold function that caused the issue. 2019 Hyundai Veloster. Since November 2022, my vehicle has encountered multiple problems, necessitating extensive periods in repair shops, and I believe these issues have not been addressed satisfactorily. Below is a timeline of the events for your reference: - **December 2022**: Engine replacement was conducted, resulting in the vehicle being in the shop for 7.5 weeks. - **January & February
... 2023**: The car underwent repairs for damage due to a faulty door and leaking moisture. - **February 2023**: The vehicle was broken into, leading to another round of repairs in April 2023. - **October 2023**: The check engine light activated. Upon taking the vehicle to your dealership, I was informed of a two-month wait for diagnosis and an even further delay for the repair. - **December 2023**: I was advised to leave the car at the dealership for a diagnosis to be conducted several weeks later, with no offer of a courtesy vehicle. - **January 2024**: The dealership diagnosed a low oil code and instructed me to return to the previous service provider to reset it, despite the oil level being adequate. I believe that the engine was not accompanied by proper installation and synchronization of related components, it could indeed lead to a P0017 code. This code indicates a misalignment between the crankshaft and camshaft positions, which can be caused by issues such as a faulty timing chain or belt, incorrect installation of these components, or a problem with the camshaft or crankshaft sensors⁴. The appearance of a P0017 code after an engine replacement can vary in time depending on the specific circumstances of the installation. If the timing components such as the chain or belt, sensors, and related parts are not properly installed or calibrated, the code could show up immediately after the engine is started. In other cases, it might take some time for the code to appear, as the engine's computer tries to adjust the timing and eventually determines it cannot correct.Read more

This car does not have Full Self Driving, and I do not use Auto Steer. I experience multiple phantom braking events every time I use the "Traffic Aware Cruise Control." Sometimes I can see that the cruise control set speed has been reduced from the speed I set, and I have to cancel and reset it to resume the original speed. Sometimes the cruise control set speed is unchanged, and pushing the accel
... erator will cause the car to resume the set speed. Yesterday I drove 320 miles and had about 6 of these events. I'm concerned about these events causing an accident from the sudden speed reduction, or getting into a road rage situation because the person behind me thinks I am brake-checking them. Internet research indicates that these complaints are very common during the past few years. If Tesla can't - or doesn't want to - solve the problem, they should at least allow us to choose basic cruise control to avoid this problem. Adaptive cruise control would be more reliable with radar, but Tesla is doing everything it can to make the cars cheaper, and radar was eliminated. Personally, I think trying to do everything with cameras is a fatally flawed approach - especially considering cars travel at night and in varied weather and lighting conditions.Read more
