I was using the air pump to inflate a tire on my vehicle and the device started smoking. I turned it off immediately and detached the air valve fitting from my tire. On several instances of breaking, my 2013 Mercedes Benz C300 pulls hard to the right and becomes very unstable. I assumed it was a brake problem by the way the car drove. Four Subaru dealership licensed service centers in Maine and New Hampshire have had for some 8 weeks my Outback to evaluate, diagnose, and -upon my approval- service. Every one of the four Subaru locations was been unable to resolve a single one of these chronic problems of the Outback's erratic 1) start/no-start, 2) triggered security light and activated alarm, 3) dashboard battery and brake icon
... s lighting/pulsing, 4) error code 55 (or SS) and 5) car headlights pulsing. The above problems compound with the issues Subaru's service teams have failed to resolve since early days of new car ownership (despite repeated repair) for 1) brakes regularly making noise, 2) radio randomly changing volume or shutting off, and 3) back tail light not working. Note: During the first two years of ownership, Subaru's service stated it "could not replicate" the problem with the brakes I'd reported within weeks of purchasing the new car. But a few weeks out of warranty, the same Subaru service location stated "I need whole new brakes" and quoted some $1,800 in repairs. A few months later, Subaru issued its first admission to the defective brake system. These four Subaru dealership licensed service centers in part or full 1) held my car at least 2x - 4x longer than quoted, while upselling me on the loaner model, then missing several by which they'd a written diagnostic report , 2) refused diagnostic report and when sought provided scant or impractical information, 3) demanded under threat of rental fees if loaner was not retuned within a couple of hours .... during a business day (including at distant locations too far to reach by deadline), and 5) sought many hundreds of dollars in payment for undisclosed and unapproved work without ever diagnosing issue, which they demanded in conjunction with the rental fees ginned up by dragging out and then failing to do the diagnostic work. Fortunately we were 10 miles from Capital Ford in Charleston, WV and it was on a Wednesday so they were able to check the car that morning. The transmission technicians diagnosed the problem and replaced the Leadframe which they had in stock. After approximately 7 hours waiting we were able to get back on the road. The vehicle has not been inspected by any other people other than the service center at Capital Ford in Charleston. No engine warning lamps or messages appeared prior to or after the incident. Once we returned home I stopped into the service center at my local Ford dealership to discuss the issue and check on recalls or extended warranty programs but was told there were none for this particular vehicle year. Upon releasing the brake, the engine started and I accelerated to cross the lanes to get into the left turning lane. As I accelerated, the engine shut off without any intervention from my part. There were no warnings on the dash, beeps, or error messages. I pressed the accelerator multiple times without any propulsion as traffic to my left was approaching me. Thankfully they slowed down seeing me "stopped" in the middle of the road. After a few seconds of being dead in the water, the engine kicked back on and I was able to accelerate again. The same thing happened at another time that was nearly identical to this situation. I do not remember the exact date of the occurrence, but I believe it was in April of 2023 and the second occurrence was a about a month later. Since then, I have not had this exact issue happen. I understand that when on a slope driving in EV mode, the cars engine will kick in to allow the car enough momentum to make it up the hill. However, in this case, the engine kicked in, but the momentum was extreme to the point that when I released the brake to roll forward the car shot forward so fast there was no avoiding a collision. This is extremely faulty and unsafe! My child and I suffered injuries as a result of striking the other car twice. We’re lucky we were not hit by multiple other cars as we were propelled into the intersection. I’m terrified to drive this car with my children. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also related the failure NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). Our 2021 Grand Design 395ms has FRAME FAILURE. The upper body of the frame has multiple broken welds and has separated during road use. After multiple days we were connected with another mobile repair man from Montana Mobile Repair (Shawn) who stated "This is the worst frame repair he has had to make". After many hours he added extra bracing and support. Grand Design stated we needed to get it home. Approx. 1700 miles back to Michigan and we would need to setup an appointment for service repair. We are concerned with the fact that they are requiring owners to drive such defective units so far and putting the owners and others in harms way. We had no choice but to make the drive. We were denied any other forms of help such as flying the family home or paying for the extended stay until SRT arrived on site for the repair. I had recall repairs made. My car is part of the class action lawsuit but is unsafe. First time when it happened, i was able to control and It went to back to normal. I did not pay attention after. Second time I took right turn and the car drove in left lane but this time I felt steering was rigid and was unable to control the Steering and hit a tree. Driver seat air bag was deployed and all doors were locked. Gel from air bag burned my right hand wrist.
