Rivian has a 'kneel' option that uses the powered air suspension to lower the vehicle to make entry and exiting the vehicle easier for users. Yes, this can be turned off or on. When on, the function stops if a main door (driver/passenger) is open and left open the car will not continue to kneel for safety purposes. However, it does NOT stop if you are using the rear hatch to access anything. T

2021 Chevy Trailblazer When I go to park my car, there is a constant error of 'Shift to Park'. The car is already in park. I must wiggle the shifting knob, restart my car, or drive around before my car will turn off and recognize that it is in park. My safety is compromised each time I get in the car. ... as I am on the road? Or reverse? Or any gear? My safety is also affected because my car does not realize it is in park, and at times I cannot exit my car. I am highly concerned that the car does not truly know which gear it is in and it compromises not only my safety, but the safety of my family/other passengers, and other drivers on the road. The problem is a known problem and there is an active fix bulletin for the problem. GM cannot get the part in stock - it has been 5 weeks. It affects not only my year, make, and model, but many others too. GM continues to sell the cars with this known safety defect. This defect has been confirmed by the dealership, and GM has sent out a known fix for the issue (TSB PIT5616A). There is also a class action lawsuit for this specific issue with GM. GM's solution to me is to trade in my car for a newer model rather than waiting for the part. In addition, many cars of my year, make, and model require a whole new transmission, but GM will only replace the shifter harness to start with, if and when they receive the part. I was told that the part could take up to six months to receive. For an issue that has been happening since at least 2019, this is unacceptable. The only warning that I receive is when I am trying to shut off my car and it will not shut off due to this error. This has been happening to my car for 2 months, but there seems to be a history of this defect since at least 2019.Read more

Instead of moving forward the truck engine turned off and would not restart. As this was a busy intersection this was an extremely dangerous situation for both myself and other motorists. A local p

After an initial diagnosis at the dealership the issue was not readily apparent, and the dealership could not get the truck to start. After multiple diagnosis attempts the dealership believes the issue is a faulty Radio Frequency Hub Module, Fuse, Relay, and Auxiliary Battery. The truck is still at the dealership awaiting the parts so it is not clear if this will correct the truck turning itself off. Also, there were no warning signs or indicator lights on when this occurred. One final note, this model truck is known to have an issue with a leaking rear window. My rear window did leak and was replaced under warranty. I have learned that the Radio Frequency Hub Module is located in the rear wall of this truck below the rear window.Read more

My mechanic verified the miss, oil on the spark plug, and low PSI. The local Chevy dealership removed the valve cover, inspected, and advised that the lifter came apart. Dealership wants $1200 to pull the head to determine extent of damage and $4-5K to repair valves or $12-14K for engine replacement. GM offers no assistance at this point.Read more

Regardless of the apparent negligence and obvious risk to the public safety, the company apparently disregarded an engine flush after maching as a cost saving practice. I believe every qualified machinest would know that metal chips left over from this process could not left in a finished motor. Just stupid but might have saved a few dollars. I'm a [XXX] man with [XXX] and [XXX] that make sitting for hours impossible. There is no one willing or able to spend this time commitment no money laying around for this expense. Hyundai knows that. I remote started my truck and entered the vehicle with my girlfriend approximately 3mins after remote starting. We immediately smelled smoke that smelled like an electrical fire. I heard sizzling/static-like/electrical short sounds coming from back seat and when I looked back, I saw thick white smoke pouring out of the the small black plastic trim piece on the rear power sliding window that covers
... the electrical connections between the sliding pane of the power sliding window and the solid, non-moving pane of glass on the passenger side of the rear window assembly. I immediately shut the truck off and climbed into the back seat with a flashlight to investigate. While looking at the rear window, the passenger side non-moving pane of glass in the rear window EXPLODED very loudly, which actually hurt my ears. The glass stayed intact but spider webbed the entire pane. I immediately pulled the fuse for the rear defroster and cleared the tremendous about of smoke that had filled my cab. The window continued to make sizzling and static like noises for the 20min ride home. Upon investigating this issue online, I discovered that GM has issued a recall on this defect for all of Canada and only certain US states that are above a certain longitude, which doesn’t include my state of PA. I am terrified to use my remote starter on the vehicle now or even preheat the truck manually for fear of burning mu truck down. I contacted a GM dealership who told me my truck didn’t have any active recalls on it and to file an insurance claim. I have since filed a complaint to GM customer service who is investigating my claim to determine if they will cover the repair. They said up to 30days to make determination!
