The transmission failed. It is not able to be inspected unless retrieved by the dealer. While driving the vehicle the transmission would disengage. There were no warning lights or failures picked up by the CAN bus. This would happen during normal driving on the highway, potentially leaving the vehicle stranded in the middle of the highway. ... red. After going to the next store, a large grocery chain, in the same parking lot I proceeded to purchase a funnel that would allow me to top off the coolant, which was barely low to begin with. When I tried backing out of the space to go home, the car hesitated on going into reverse, jerked really hard again and that's when I proceeded to pull the car back into the parking spot at the grocery store and ordered a Lyft to take me and my groceries home. The message "transmission failure" did not come on until I was pulling the car back into the parking space before ordering a Lyft. I had the car towed to my mechanics shop where he proceeded to tell me I would need a new transmission. However, 6 to 7 months prior to that, the car was at the authorized dealer where it was purchased originally from to have the safety recall repair done to the gear shifting cables and bushings, which were replaced. The service worker now informed me that they never checked the transmission fluid levels or any other fluid in the car to make sure that the car was in good condition and ready to drive. Seeing that there is no dip stick for an owner to check the transmission fluid level and the "gear shifting cable" and bushings directly effect the transmission and 6 months later the transmission goes out completely has caused me great concern and duress. I am caring for both my elderly parents and we are now without a car with doctors appointments coming up and their ongoing and increasing medical issues, this has really left us in a huge bind.Read more

Hello, I am writing to bring attention to a vital public safety issue regarding the Lexus recall policy eligibility of 21LE01, concerning brake system issues. The current policy deems vehicles eligible for recall based on a set criterion: the vehicle must be under 10 years of age or under 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. The term “whichever comes first” disregards the importance of “m
... ileage” as the main indicator of wear and tear, especially for brake system issues which are largely and directly related to it. My vehicle, a Lexus CT200h, 11 years old with 100,000 miles (upon receipt of the recall notice) was confirmed to have the exact brake issues as described in 21LE01. However when I sought remedy and support, I was told that despite being well under the mileage limitation, my vehicle was ineligible for the recall due to its age. For recalls that pertain directly to the safety of the vehicle's occupants and the general public – such as brake system malfunctions – more lenient eligibility criteria should be adopted to ensure no vehicle with potential defects is left untreated. A more flexible approach that considers both age and mileage individually would be much more suitable for the break issues that 21LE01was set to address. A brake system malfunction is a grave risk to the safety of the vehicle's occupants and others on the road. Such recalls should prioritize safety over arbitrary constraints. The safety of drivers, passengers, and the broader public should always be the top priority. No vehicle owner should be left at risk due to arbitrary limitations. Broken visors on 2018-2024 models are a well-known and very common problem according to Jeep’s own service technicians and hundreds of other Jeep owners online. Jeep/Stellantis should be forced to issue a recall on the visors / install for free the necessary securing brackets and offer full refunds to any customers who already paid out of pocket to get their visors replaced at the dealership. The part/design itself is faulty and having them replaced without the addition of extra securing brackets only guarantees that they will break again in the future. This is where I believe Ford Motor Company's engineering group got involved & recommended a custom alignment, I believe this was performed by Ron Alpen Ford around 4/8/24 @ 33,486 miles. As you can see, over half of this truck's remaining warranty was dissolved waiting on Ford Motor Company's assistance. Ford Motor Company fell silent after recommending I take the truck to a different Ford Dealer for a second opinion... I still do not believe a second opinion was the correct opinion of Ford... Ford should have supported Ron Alpen Ford further in this repair. I set up an appointment at Courtesy Ford, Courtesy had the truck for two full weeks straight... Ford claimed that the truck had conveniently made it outside of the warranty period... 12/3/24 @ 35,922 Courtesy replaced the drag link & the steering stabilizer a SECOND time as the continuing death-wobble had destroyed the first updated steering dampener at my expense because the truck was conveniently out of the 3 year warranty period... Courtesy also decided to return the truck to its original factory alignment even though they were asked not to. Death-wobble continued as of [XXX] @ 36,105 miles. I have contacted Ford Motor Company, Ron Alpen Ford & Courtesy Ford on 12/11/24 to inform them the truck still has Death-Wobble & as of 12/27/24 no reply from any one. I have called Courtesy Ford requesting my money back because they guaranteed the truck would be fixed & it clearly is not. I proceeded to press the brake pedal and tried to turn the steering wheel - but both functions were non-responsive which was incredibly frightening. Also - the vehicle's windshield mounted motion detection camera system (Subaru Eyesight) along with motion detector auto breaking system did not engage before i hit the tree which was very troubling. Thankfully the airbag deployed and other then some medium knee pain i was not injured nor was anyone else injured. The auxiliary transmission fuel pump system is prone to failure. This makes it so the start/stop feature will not work, as the vehicle will stall when stopped (causing an unsafe situation), and it cannot pass state inspection. The part is entirely unavailable from Chevy, and results in the vehicle being scrapped. There is no way to permanently bypass this system.

Every time I tow my travel trailer within 150 miles or so I will get a message that the Diesel Exhaust fluid (DEF)is low and needs to be filled soon. Within 50 miles of that happening I will get the message that the DEF is low and will be speed limited in 500 miles. I took my truck to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. in September and they kept a 6 month old truck for 23 days. They said there is an issue with the DEF software algorithm while towing and they don't have a fix. They have a technical service bulletin that tells them to instruct customers not to add DEF until they get the Speed Limited in xxx miles . In other words don't fill it up when it says it's empty. The DEF system is a government requirement and the manufacturer should be required to ensure that their system is accurate and working under all driving conditions.Read more

My transmission failed although it was scanned a few weeks earlier indicating no issues with the transmission. I was lucky that the car failed once I stopped and wouldn't shift back into gear however it could have failed while driving. The car was driving fine and was slightly slow to engage, but I believe that was due to the fuel pump recall, which I could not have fixed because of a shortage of
