Right after leaving the lot, I noticed that all four tires on the Durango were severely worn, and one had a deep cut, making it a legitimate safety hazard that could result in a blowout. I immediately returned and showed the salesman, who refused to replace the tire, even the damaged one, instead offering new tires at what they claimed was “dealer cost”—$271 per tire. However, I quickly found the exact same tires available from major retailers like Walmart and Amazon for $198–$226, proving that the dealership was not being transparent about their pricing. In addition to the tire issue, I also noticed numerous paint chips all over the front end of the Durango while I was still at the dealership. At first glance, I assumed they were just dead bugs. It wasn’t until I took a closer look that I realized the paint was chipped in many spots. Rather than offering to fix it or even acknowledge the issue, I had to ask for a paint chip marker myself. On [XXX], at or around midnight, I was traveling [XXX] at approximately 60 mph. The traffic was very light, with few vehicles on the road. It was raining, and I was in the number 1 lane. As I was traveling, I suddenly felt a lurch, and the right rear of my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado (Vin# [XXX] ) dropped. My pickup truck immediately began to spin to my left, forcing me into the toll lanes and into the concrete center divider. When my vehicle came to rest, I was facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of the toll road. My lights were no longer except a single amber light flashing, which gave limited warning to approaching vehicles. The California Highway Patrol arrived (unknown why no traffic collision report was taken), my vehicle was removed from the roadway, the right rear wheel and tire had separated from the vehicle and rolled to the right shoulder of [XXX] 150 yards from where my pickup came to rest. The vehicle was towed to the tow yard, where a vehicle inspection was conducted on March 19, 2025. The right rear wheel and tire for some reason were not recovered from the collision scene. The inspection revealed the cause of the collision was a broken/severed axle, not related to driver error. Photographs of the broken axle were taken and are available for review. The axle clearly had a manufacturing defect, poor casting or forging. The defect appeared to be an ongoing problem and separated from the vehicle at the time of the collision for no apparent reason. Depending on the time of day, traffic conditions, and the number of passengers, the collision had the potential to be much worse. ... oaner 2024 Tundra iForce recently with same 10 speed transmission, it felt lot smoother and no vibration at all for a whole week before return the loaner. The vibration from my Tundra feels like clutch slippery somewhere from transmission or K0 Clutch. Some time it makes the acceleration feels delay while it was vibrating aka slippery. 2nd problem, I noticed left front tire edge shows sign of start worn out while tire is only have 8k miles on it. Dealership checked the alignment and said nothing found wrong. They recommended me to tire rotation on 5k miles without offer replace tire that is about to show bald on edge. Tire is factory off road package tire aka Falken Wildpeak AT3WA. 3rd problem, during first oil change at 5k miles. I noticed there is oil residue on bottom bell housing between engine and electric motor. Dealership cleaned it and wanted me to come back at 10k miles routine maintenance inspection. Around 6k miles, I took a look at the leak area. Oil came back as seeping. Dealership denied and said there is no leak at this time. Saw the oil residue from their inspection report.Read more

Unfortunately, the problem did occur again on March 16th, which prompted us to contact OnStar and have the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership for further evaluation. The service department has since informed us that the motor requires replacement. Upon conducting additional research, it seems this may be a known issue with many vehicles manufactured by GM around the same time. We are deeply concerned by this safety hazard, especially given that the malfunction could have led to a life-threatening accident. While we are grateful that we were fortunate enough to avoid any serious consequences, we believe a solution beyond standard repairs is necessary to restore our confidence in the safety of this vehicle. I had plenty of time to pull onto a perpendicular street. While accelerating the car would not shift to next gear. It hit about 4.2 rpm and still did not shift. I was almost hit!!!! After pulIing over to safety, I ensured it was not in manual mode. Started driving again and It wouldn’t go more than like 20 mph. I pulled over a second time and shut it off. I Have only had this truck for 2 months. I was driving and making a turn and the electrical power steering stopped working and the steering wheel locked. I almost crashed and drove into a ditch with my whole family in the truck. Including a [XXX]. I had to slam on the breaks and barely able to keep the truck from crashing. Steering wheel needed to be muscled for it to make the smallest turn. I had to drive over curbs because it would have been impossible to make some of the turns needed to get home. I called Ram and reposted the incident. They did not care because my vin is not listed for the recall and that the recall is "VIN specific". I do not understand this. VIN specific means each truck would be custom made and all different. Why is my family's life being risked and not being taken seriously. Once home, I have not been back in the truck. I turned it on the next day and the alert is gone and the wheel moves again. A family of 5 is now at risk.
