1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The service technician at the dealership linked the known issue to the torque converter and potentially the transmission system. The suspected faulty components are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? While driving my 2017 Chevrolet C
... amaro, the vehicle intermittently and abruptly slows down and shakes/shudders violently, as if riding over rocks. This unexpected and dangerous behavior could easily result in a loss of control, especially at higher speeds or in traffic, putting both myself and other drivers at risk. This issue compromises the safe operation of the vehicle. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The service technician told me this is a known problem with Chevrolets and stated that they currently have four other vehicles in their service department with the same issue. Given the frequency of this issue (as noted by the dealer) and the sudden onset without warning, I am concerned that this is a broader safety-related defect that warrants investigation. The technician stated multiple times that the issue is likely the torque converter, or in the worst case, a failing transmission. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? No, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer directly, or by police or insurance representatives at this time. I’ve never received any notice from the manufacturer regarding the shudder and recommended fluid flushes. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights or messages have appeared. The sudden shuddering and slowing down of the vehicle while driving occurs without any prior warning.Read more

Was driving down the interstate going around a curve and the service power steering message was displayed and lost power steering. Almost went into other lane of traffic almost causing an accident at 70mph. Was able to get vehicle to side of road. Turned off and back on then power steering worked. On the way home the power steering failed again almost causing another wreck. Turned truck off and ba

Code states that there is a software problem with the EPS unit. 2015-2016 Rams had a recall for the exact same issue that I'm having with my 2017 currently. This is a tremendous safety issue and could cost people their lives if not corrected soon!!Read more

Phone: [XXX] VIN: [XXX] Vehicle : 2017 Acura MDX Dealership: DCH Montclair Acura, Bloomfield NJ 07103 Warranty: Extended Warranty Active Previous Case No: [XXX] Subject : Formal Complaint-Dashboard Errors and Inadequate Warranty Support Dear Acura Client Relations, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding ongoing dashboard error messages in my 2017 Acura MDX and the poor handlin
... g of the situation by both your Customer service and DCH Montclair Acura in Bloomfield, NJ. The errors occur intermittently during my work commute. When I contacted customer service, I was told by Case Manager (Andrew) on [XXX] @ [XXX] pm that nothing could be done unless I brought the vehicle in while the warning lights were actively on. This is unrealistic and dismissive. It is not always possible or safe to divert immediately to a dealership and I do not believe that Acura expects its customers to drive around hoping a warning light stays on long enough to be seen by a technician. I understand that modern vehicles like the MDX store fault codes even after warning lights disappear. That Is the purpose of diagnostic equipment. Denying a warranty repair based on whether a technician witnessed an error live undermines the value of the extended warranty i paid for raises serious concerns about safety and accountability. I plan to visit DCH Montclair and attempt to schedule an appointment in advance. I expect a full diagnostic scan to be performed, with no fee applied unless the issue is clearly outside of warranty. I am requesting the following: A complete diagnostic of stored fault codes, regardless of whether the dashboard errors are active at the time of service. Full written documentation of the findings and action taken A clear explanation of any charges and why they would apply under my extended warranty. If this matter is not resolved appropriately, I will escalate it through the BBB INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Formal Complaint – Hybrid System Failure, Safety Risk (VIN: [XXX] | Hyundai Case #[XXX]) Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to file a formal safety complaint regarding a dangerous incident involving my Hyundai hybrid vehicle (VIN: [XXX] ) and Hyundai Motor America's failure to respond meaningfully to repeated requests for assistance. Incident Summary: On [XXX], while driving with my two young chil
... dren (ages [XXX] and [XXX] ), my vehicle suddenly displayed the following critical warnings: “Hybrid System Warning! Safely Stop and Do Not Drive” “Check Charging System” Immediately after these messages appeared, the car lost all power and came to a complete stop in the middle of the road. This created an extremely hazardous and distressing situation for me and my family. Although the vehicle is a few years old, it has very low mileage (38,345 miles), and I did not expect such a catastrophic failure. I submitted a report to Hyundai Customer Support on May 30, 2025 (Case #[XXX]) and followed up on June 9, 2025, but have only received an automated acknowledgment—no response, investigation, or support to date. Attachments: A video clip showing the warning messages at the time of the incident (I cannot upload the video clip since the option is not there, but I do have it if required) Requested Actions: A formal investigation into the safety and reliability of Hyundai's hybrid systems. A determination as to whether this incident qualifies under Hyundai’s warranty or federal safety defect regulations. Immediate contact from Hyundai with the next steps regarding inspection, resolution, or compensation. I am cc’ing Hyundai Motor America to ensure this matter is escalated appropriately and receives the attention it warrants. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your timely response. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I purchased a brand new 2025 Subaru Forester Wilderness and immediately noticed a persistent vibration in the steering wheel, seat, and footwell area. The vibration is present at all times — while driving at various speeds and even while idling. It is very distracting and uncomfortable. This ongoing vibration creates a constant sensation of movement that affects my comfort and ability to stay f
... ully focused on the road. I have arthritis in both hands, and the steering wheel vibration causes physical discomfort, pain, and fatigue, especially on longer drives. I previously owned a 2024 Subaru [same model], which did not have this issue. I have also spoken with other owners of the 2025 model who are not experiencing this problem, so I do not believe this is typical for the vehicle. Subaru of America sent an engineer to inspect the vehicle, but the evaluation was limited to measuring vibration levels. He did not place the vehicle on a lift or inspect any physical components, such as the suspension, wheels, or drivetrain. Despite this limited assessment, he concluded the vibration was “normal.” I respectfully disagree with this conclusion, as the vibration significantly affects the drivability, comfort, and confidence I feel while operating the vehicle. I am reporting this issue because I believe it may indicate a defect that deserves further investigation.Read more

Related to TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN Various Gear Shift Module Concerns 25-2045 I experienced an issue where my truck was stuck in drive and the engine off. The truck could not be turned on if it wasn't in park, but couldn't be shifted unless it was on. This appears to be a very common issue as I made a post on Reddit [XXX] ) and many other users noted the same issue (low milage, relatively n
... ew tucks) with the same fix - a tow to a ford dealer and a $1000+ replacement of the shift module. The service manager told me it was "a common issue". It should be categorically impossible for a $70k+ tuck with less than 40K miles to be unable to shift gears due to faulty computer components. Ford didn't consider this issue under warrantee. Ford should have this module recalled - it is unfair for consumers to foot the bill to replace what should be a life time/never fail component. I am filing a complaint regarding repeated and dangerous safety failures with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe, which I purchased as a brand-new vehicle on February 22, 2025. The most critical issue is that the vehicle has shut off on two separate occasions—once while in motion driving up a hill and once during a suspension height adjustment while stopped. In both cases, the engine power
... ed down unexpectedly, a red wrench and lightning bolt warning appeared, and the vehicle shifted into park on its own. I was unable to restart the vehicle immediately, creating a severe hazard. These shutdowns were preceded or followed by system warnings including “Electric Mode Unavailable – Service Required,” “Active Driving Assist Unavailable,” “Night Vision Unavailable,” “Traffic Sign Assist Unavailable,” and “Tire Pressure Monitoring Unavailable.” These alerts began appearing within weeks of purchase and have persisted intermittently, sometimes alongside performance issues such as sudden jolts at highway speed. The CDJR dealership in Northern California and various manufacturer (Jeep/Stellantis) technical advisors have inspected the vehicle multiple times. A software defect has been identified and confirmed by Jeep, but no fix is available. A Technical Service Bulletin 08-003-25 dated January 8, 2025—before I purchased the vehicle—acknowledges this issue. Despite this, the vehicle was sold to me, and I was sent home with it multiple times even after reporting these failures. The dealership and manufacturer technical advisors now consider the vehicle unsafe to operate and will not return it until a software update is released. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. Supporting documentation including service records, warning light photos, and communications with Jeep Customer Care and the dealership, can be provided. I urge the agency to investigate this matter due to the confirmed safety risk and lack of timely resolution.Read more
