My 2019 Honda Odyssey has a check engine light on due to failing fuel injectors. Honda service center told me, the Cost to repair would put you out the door @ 1919.38. My car has fewer than 60,000 miles, for me personally, it's a manufacturing fault. After seeing the check engine light, I didn't drive my car other than take it to the Honda service center.

1. Component/System: One-pedal driving / regenerative braking (i-Pedal mode). Vehicle is available for inspecti On three separate occasions since leasing the vehicle in April, 2025, the vehicle failed to decelerate when i-Pedal mode was active and I fully released the accelerator pedal. Instead of slowing immediately as expected, the car continued maintaining speed for a few seconds before eventu
... ally reducing speed. In all instances, the accelerator pedal returned fully to its default position, and my foot was completely off the pedal. My foot was hovering over the brake and prepared to brake manually. This unexpected continued acceleration created a safety risk, particularly in situations where I anticipated immediate slowing. Safety Risk: This behavior increases the risk of rear-end collisions or reduced reaction time in traffic. It causes uncertainty in vehicle response and requires sudden manual braking when the system fails to operate correctly. Inspection/Reproduction: The dealership has inspected the vehicle and has denied existence of any issues. Warning Lamps/Messages: No warning lamps or messages appeared before or during the events. ⸻ 2. Component/System: Blind spot monitoring / driver assistance sensors Since acquiring the vehicle, the blind spot monitoring system routinely activates warnings when vehicles are more than one lane away, not in the adjacent lane. This results in frequent false warnings, especially on multi-lane highways. Safety Risk: The false alerts cause distraction and hesitation during lane changes. The system startles the driver and forces additional visual checks beyond normal safe driving practice, increasing cognitive load and reducing confidence in the system’s accuracy. Inspection/Reproduction: This behavior is frequent and occasionally reproducible. Warning Lamps/Messages: System behaves as if detecting vehicles in blind spot even when lanes are clear.Read more

On 10/24, a rented van (from Budget Truck Rental) was parked and stationary on private commercial property (a warehouse lot) when a fire originated in the engine compartment area. The fire rapidly escalated, causing severe damage to the van itself, and resulting in the total loss of a second, adjacent rented van. The local Fire Department (FD) responded to and extinguished the blaze. What compone
... nt or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fire appeared to originate in the engine compartment. The specific component or system that failed is UNKNOWN at this time, pending a formal report from FD, but the recall 67C one day earlier shows this could have been the reason. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle was unoccupied and stationary; however, the uncontrolled fire created an immediate and significant risk to the nearby structure (warehouse building) and resulted in the total destruction of an adjacent commercial vehicle. The incident posed a risk to emergency responders and caused substantial property damage. We have 12 other vans with these recalls and very concerned. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? NO. The incident was a fire resulting in the vehicle's damage and loss. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The incident is under investigation by the Fire Department (FD) and the Police Department (PD). Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO. The vehicle was parked and shut off. We use Samsara and no prior warning lamps, messages, or symptoms reported before the fire began. The vehicle has 4162h on the engine and 47,175 miles.Read more

My truck had a ticking, knocking on the bottom end of the engine as I was driving home with my children. When i pulled into my driveway, the low oil pressure light came on and the truck began to stall while the back of the truck was till in the roadway. Several cars had to come to a complete stop to avoid hitting us, right where my children were seated in the back. I was able to limp the truck i
... nto my driveway. The following day I attempted to start the truck. It started hard and immediately gave me a low oil pressure light. I shut the truck off and called the dealership. The dealer wanted $3000 to just diagnose the problem. I had to pay out of pocket to get the truck towed to a private shop. The private shop started the truck and attempted to drive it to reproduce the issue. The truck engine seized and I had to pay to have it towed back to the shop. I then had to purchase a brand new crate engine from GM and pay to have it installed. The seized engine would not even roll over, so the cost of labor was increased due to them not being able to unbolt the torque converter on the engine. My engine is a 6.2l and GM told me based on by truck being a 2019, that it was not included in the recall. So far, the engine replacement has cost me $19,000.Read more

Vehicle shuts off intermittently without warning. Random dash warning lights will flash, but not stay on. Air suspension will engage on its own while vehicle is not turned on, and electrical panels and lights will turn on and flash while vehicle is parked in garage, hours or days after last driven. Transmission will struggle to shift gears from low speeds, but then quickly “catch up” causing u
... npredictable acceleration. This vehicle has been to the dealership 5 times with batteries replaced, and software resets done, but no conclusion to what the source of the issue is. A camera was installed in our garage after the vehicle was sent home with us without being repaired due to being unable to replicate the issue. The camera captured 4 incidents of the vehicle electronics turning on, and air suspension raising up and down over a span of 5 days. We were advised to park the vehicle outside of our garage for fear of potential electrical fire, or it starting on its own. The vehicle is currently still in the dealership service department as they try to find the source of the issue. The vehicles electrical malfunctions have caused it to shut off on the highway, and while backing out of our driveway on multiple occasions. This puts both driver, occupants, and other drivers on the road at risk of being involved in a collision. The issues with the vehicle struggling to shift gears, and then “catching up” like a computer glitch, and accelerating unpredictably has been dangerous during merging into traffic.Read more

I had been having issues with my vehicle randomly stalling out when I would start it and put it into reverse. It also was hesitating during acceleration at times. On 9/2/25 I took it to a Nissan dealership for these issues and was told they couldn’t find anything wrong. I specifically asked if it could be related to the recall I had just received notice about in the mail and was told ‘probably
... not’. The issues persisted off and on the next few weeks and I was about to call them to let them know things were still not working right and some things had gotten worst (like almost stalling out in the middle of the day at a light). On 10/21/25 (6 weeks after the dealership said there was nothing wrong with my car) I started having major problems driving home and the heat would not work. I barely got it home and by then it was running very rough. Husband looked and said there was almost no antifreeze and added some. He said I couldn’t drive it and we had to tow it in the morning. Tow truck driver nearly started it on fire because he couldn’t get it into service mode and it started smoking terribly for the 30 seconds it was on. Nissan Dealership (different one) said there were five 2022 Nissan Roque’s with the same problem ahead of me. After almost a week they called to tell me Nissan is replacing the ‘engine long block and turbo’. I’ve had to rent a car at $400/week and have no idea how long this is going to take. Thankful I wasn’t driving when things got really bad. Also - NO service lights have ever come on indicating anything was wrong at any point.Read more

I want to bring a widespread safety issue up that is not being resolved by the manufacturer. I have a 2017 Subaru Forester with a faulty ODS sensor. This is a known issue to Subaru and there are bulletins issued on this topic (WUM-98 and 17-19-24). I had the original ODS sensor replaced in 2021. Several months ago my passenger airbag lights started to turn off again. I took it to Subaru and they
... did a diagnostic test and found that the replacement ODS sensor had again malfunctioned - code b1760 "occupant detector sensor mat fault." I was told (at the dealership service center) that the sensor is on back order and was quoted to $1,887.62 to replace the seat bottom. However, the seat bottom is also on back order. I was told to contact Subaru directly and they would likely cover the cost since this is a known issue with a bulletin out and the parts are on backorder through the dealership. I have since contacted Subaru many times only to be told that there are no active recalls on my vehicle and the recall for the faulty ODS sensor shows completed on 6/28/2021 @ 57,096 and Subaru would not have a path of goodwill assistance towards the repair since it has been more than a year since the replacement. Subaru forums are full of owners going through the same thing and being told the part is back-ordered, they need a new $1,800 seat bottom, or this issue isn't covered because their seat probably got wet, etc. If both the wiring harness and the seat bottom are both on back order, then what is the solution - buy a new seat, buy a new car? This is not a cosmetic issue, normal "wear and tear" or a maintenance issue. This is a model-wide issue among all Subaru vehicles. This is a defective part and clearly replacing the wiring harness does not fix the problem. This is a widespread safety issue that is not being addressed properly by Subaru, which is why I'm escalating this to the NTSB. Read more

The car started to have issues shifting when driving- automatic transmission. It would jolt or shudder to try to shift. I was at a light intersection attempting to turn left to go on the on ramp of a highway, it attempted to shift as I sped up from a stop and it got stuck and started making a sound as if you were to press the brake and gas at the same time, similar to that, a car was coming in my
... direction at the same time and it finally clicked into gear. Absolutely terrified me, my father in law came and switched me vehicles and took mine to the dealership where it stayed for 3 days and they diagnosed it saying it needed a new transmission, quoting us at $11,000. Obviously we can’t afford that. We had all the filters and lines of the transmission cleaned. And now it’s just gotten worse and worse. That was the first time it happened. Now it’ll shudder like that any time it’s switching gears at any speed. Another time since then, it got stuck in the same situation after pulling out of my kids school driveway, it got stuck and wouldn’t click, when it finally did it started shaking uncontrollably in the street and thankfully I live two streets over and made it to my street before it just shut off on its own. I coasted it right into the front of our house and then it would not come back on, at this time we searched the internet over and over to find try to find an easy fix. We let it sit before it came back on. This is our family vehicle. I’ve seen that many many people have this exact issue with this exact same year and model. Its not coincidental and It’s extremely unsafe. Especially with kids in these vehicles. I’m terrified one day when it gets stuck or shuts off we will get hit.Read more

We are grateful that no one was harmed, but this incident has left us traumatized and unwilling to transport our children in this vehicle again. This is not merely a mechanical inconvenience—it is a critical safety and reliability failure. A nearly new vehicle should never exhibit such dangerous behavior. The right front (passenger side) brake caliper seize closed, pulling the vehicle to the right from uneven braking, and destroying the brake pads and rotor on that corner. Fortunately, this occurred on dry asphalt highway, and control was not entirely lost. The problem was diagnosed by the dealer to be the ABS module. This appears to be a common fault on the Transit Connect van and the Ford Focu

It had 27,272 miles on it when the module failed in September of 2025, five years. The car’s bumper to bumper warranty expired after three years. The repair cost from the dealership, including consequential repairs to the pads, rotor and fluid, totaled $2,813.65. While there was no actual crash, the affected rotor became heated to a bright orange color.Read more
